I've seen some say that in Zombie Stage the characters have no reason to act the way they do unlike Alien Stage, because here they were raised in the human society and therefore must know norms of human behaviour...

But I think things are way more complicated than that, because there is the implication made that Mizi's mom was physically abusive to her.

(That second frame is there for like a second, I dont blame anybody for missing it)

This leads me to think that in Zombie Stage the alien guardians are replaced with the main cast's parents/guardians, just like the alien audience is replaced with a crowd of humans at Sua's and Mizi's performance, and the way they raise them parallels the way they were treated in Alien Stage.

The constant threat of physical harm likely parallels the constant water pressure Mizi was raised under in the other universe. Both influence her into gaining the "I have to be cute and sweet and naive so those around me like me and therefore don't hurt me" mindset. It also creates her desire to crush someone else to feel in control over something for once, shown with her having crushed a rat with a stone in the flashback.

I assume similar things happened with the other members of the cast - some analog to their alnst childhoods.

And, yknow, people from abusive homes tend to have a skewed perception of human relationships. Who knew.

I'm not even kidding it's so clear that everyone sees black people and especially black women as some sort of alternate species. I'm getting into doll collection & customization videos because I've been getting into collecting myself and toys and art are supposed to bring me happiness and even there I can't escape the anti blackness. Like... you're lucky if you find a character or doll that's consistently brown skinned and carefully designed in popular brands. Collectors will always favor light skin or fantasy colors anyways. I had to watch a white creator call a custom Garnet doll "dummy thicc" and describe her in progress proportions as "female rappery" why couldn't you just have said curvy?
