Starbucks funded the police in Atlanta so here’s their recipes
do you have a link to the images cause they’re a little small and compressed
Here’s the tweet I got it from
Lol I used to work at Starbucks. I approve this. Pro tip: to make a latte at home, just boil the milk. You don’t need any special equipment.
I don’t see my favorite which was an earl grey tea latte aka London fog. It’s 3 pumps vanilla with 2 earl grey teabags with ½ water then the other half is 2% milk for a grande. It tastes better with soy milk and an extra shot of sugar.
last year i used to sleep from 5 am to 10 am every day and it was Not Good for me. i’ve gotten a couple of questions about my sleep schedule so i thought i’d share some tips that helped me adopt a healthier sleep schedule. enjoy 🛏💤

Noncommittal negation: ~くはない:well, it isn’t ~ (but it’s not the opposite either)
I noticed this one in conversation within a few months but I don’t know if I’ve sen it in class. It’s used for explicitly negating one thing, while not implying that it’s necessarily the opposite.
A friend once suggested I try a drink which sounded decidedly unappetizing (some type of shochu with milk?? of all things). When I agreed to try, I hmm’d and said “まずくない,” to which he agreed “まずくはない.”
Adding the extra は is a bit more noncommittal than leaving it out. What I said sounds more like “Hey, this isn’t bad!” (as in “it’s good!”) while my expression and body language were much more neutral, so I should have said “well, it isn’t bad (but I won’t make a more decisive judgement),” or “well, it isn’t bad (but it may be other things)”
“This is your daily, friendly reminder to use commas instead of periods during the dialogue of your story,” she said with a smile.
“Unless you are following the dialogue with an action and not a dialogue tag.” He took a deep breath and sat back down after making the clarifying statement.
“However,” she added, shifting in her seat, “it’s appropriate to use a comma if there’s action in the middle of a sentence.”
“True.” She glanced at the others. “You can also end with a period if you include an action between two separate statements.”
Things I didn’t know
“And–” she waved a pen as though to underline her statement–“if you’re interrupting a sentence with an action, you need to type two hyphens to make an en-dash.”
You guys have no idea how many students in my advanced fiction workshop didn’t know any of this when writing their stories.
Okay, but someone please explain question marks when followed by a dialogue tag. How do?
“The speech tag is still part of the previous sentence,” she explained, ‘so it isn’t capitalised.“
“What do you mean?” he asked. “But there’s a full stop as part of the question mark!”
She nodded gravely. “I know!” she said. “A lot of people find this confusing. But the speech tag belongs to the line of dialogue, it’s still part of the sentence, so it’s wrong to capitalise it.”
She reblogged the post again, because she had recently read far too many potentially enjoyable stories marred by poor dialogue punctuation.
I’ve only seen this post in screenshots till now..
NOICE. Can’t wait to use this
“There are two more ways"—she pointed to the blackboard—“to punctuate interruptions. One is with the em dashes outside the quotations marks to indicate continuous speech. The action occurs at the same time as speech. The other—” she sipped from a glass of water “—is em dashes within the quotation marks to indicate interrupted speech.”
fun fact: painters back then painted yellow fruits (most often lemons/other citrus fruits) to show off their skills. yellow is one of the most difficult colors to shade for with paint, so it showed off their skill in mixing colors. oftentimes, when theres a PEELED yellow fruit, the peel is way longer than it should be, too, just because the painters wanted to flex on people.
for example:
if you put the peel back on the lemon in your mind, you’ll find its way too long. this is genuinely just bc this painter in 1643 wanted to flex his painting skills
idk why im saying this its just a neat fact
