Grace mindlessly kisses his hamster ball after they have a deep and meaningful conversation and rocky is like "GRACE WANT TO EAT ROCKY, QUESTION? ROCKY IS INEDIBLE, STATEMENT. WHAT THE FUCK, DEMAND!" and Grace is laughing too hard to properly explain and rocky just hunkers down angrily and swears at him in eridian

Grace puts things that are absolutely inedible in his mouth; pens, etc, or uses his mouth like a third hand because his arm is burned to shit and rocky is like omg you cannot eat that is much disgust and Grace has to explain and rocky is horrified

Grace burps and rocky leans as far away as possible from him, utterly offended, and Grace learns that burping translates into eridian as "public eater" or something just as offensive in eridian culture and has to apologise profusely and explain what burping in and rocky is disgusted

Idk just makes me happy to think of these two goofballs figuring out one anothers culture through hilarious oopsies

I know it’s just a popular misconception in this fandom that Grace runs out of food on the way to Erid, where in the book he actually runs out a few months after arriving and it just takes the Eridians a while to make him more that he can actually eat. And honestly idgaf but consider how much more angst potential it is that Grace arrives to Erid healthy and has a chance to explain what happened with Rocky and befriend a bunch of other Eridians, and then starts to decline in health.

Instead of Rocky having to convince Erid to save the life of a random alien they don’t know anything about, it’s suddenly a scramble for Erid to save their new friend (and savior of their planet) and watching him slowly get worse while they struggle to make progress sucks for everyone who has gotten to know him, not just Rocky.

One could say that the naming of Ghovie 2, "2 Big to Rig", and the art design of an overhead stage light breaking free of it's rigging in the poster art, is a very loud and obvious apology from Tobias to the international fans that had their Skeletour dates canceled due to concerns involved in transporting the show.

I do think the Ghovie was always planned for, but the cancellation of the Skeletour broke Tobias' heart so much he decided 'fuck it, we apologize' via the ghovie name. One can only imagine what the Ghovie's "working title' was during tour.

The first official communication from Erid to Earth is a message from Rocky asking for child support. They left a baby, only in its 30s, on his doorstep. Of course, he’s thankful; he loves the baby. But also, can he get some resources? The biodome uses a lot of resources and Grace WAS theirs first, so it’s completely fair to ask.

Sometimes I like to think about the fact Stratt has no idea that Grace survived on Erid. All she knows from the videos is he's going to save the Eridians, but she knows the food won't last, and she doesn't know (just like Grace at the time) that they'll eventually synthesise food he can eat.

As far as she knows, he got to Erid and died shortly after.

So to see MANY years later as she's a very old woman on her death bed, a lone newly built beetle arrive, made of the same xenonite her Grace figurine is made of that has sat on her bedside table ever since it arrived in the original beetles. To see a video file inside of Grace, scarred, stick thin, hunched through the heavy gravity, missing teeth from his scurvy...and with the biggest, happiest grin on his face as he tells her about his life on Erid.

She thought she'd found peace before when she watched those original video files, Grace smiling that she was right, and that all her emotional sacrifice to get the job done to get him out there was worth it because the Earth was saved...yeah, no. It was peace now. That toothy, excitable grin, that worn and threadbare fox cardigan, those stupid glasses still hanging off his face...alive.

Out there, living his best life, and alive.

Now she could die at peace.
