"why is the character like that" >look inside character >it's the author's subconscious attempt to love themself
this is meant positively by the way. sometimes you love the character so much you end up putting a piece of yourself in it to learn how it is to love yourself without realising and thats ok.
Truly, I believe this.
"In the same way that your heart feels and your mind thinks, you, mortal beings, are the instrument by which the universe cares. If you choose to care, then the universe cares. If you don't, then it doesn't." -- Brennan Lee Mulligan, D20, Fantasy High
I really wish as a published author that I could claim this was staged.
hey everyone "I" have something to show "you"
I have never once, in all my years, thought that someone could be so dense so as to think a book in first person POV is meant to be the reader’s pov.
Like bitch that’s what second person POV is. There’s a reason why it’s so rare
This one resonated with me
Actually, my therapist has told me this is a healthy way of processing things. Because you can get the trauma out of your head And you can write the ending you wish it had. The trusted person rescue, the catharsis of getting to kill the one who hurt you.
It's good for your brain. It's healthier than bottling it up. Fiction is where we go for emotional release. That can be true with trauma too.
so what you're saying is
character: NO
therapist: YES
Adding @dear-massacre's tags because they are so true:
#this is why it's important to remember that fictional characters are fake #they have no agency. they're made up #it hurts no one to make any character go through the horrors #it is healthy and cathartic
yeah okay ill reblog that
holding on by a god damn thread
man, The Character really strikes me as someone who would struggle with Same Problems I Have, for no apparent reason

IRON LUNG! IRON LUNG! IRON LUNG! Posting this here before anywhere else because I'm too lazy to export the sketches/thumbnail/grayscale/timelapse.
Had to reupload because Tumblr and maybe Krita hates me :(
! SPOILER FOR THE MOVIE !
Oh why did I?
I watch Iron Lung on opening night. Someone on Twitter compared the Convict to Laika, and it reminded me of a song that also reminds me of her. The lyrics aren’t exactly correct, but the melancholic, resigned tone reminded me of them: unwilling prisoners, sealed into their tombs, and shot out into the unknown. Even knowing how the game ended, I secretly hoped he would live. Instead, like her, he died alone and afraid.
I wonder if, like me, they both secretly hoped to the last second that they would come home.
(Some other pics)
okay that's cool
