Selena Gomez - The Heart Wants What It Wants (Cover by Gabriela Francesca)
So in love with this song right now. Short, simple, sweet--Jack Johnson is always super tasty.
Wow. I always forget how cool this piece is.
Alrighty, the change from high school to college took me by a bit of surprise the past few weeks, hence why I have failed to post anything for the past month. BUT I'm back! From here on out my posts probably won't be as extensive and I'll just post the music that I'd like to share. But at least I'm still posting right? Right. Enjoy!
Around us, life bursts with miracles—a glass of water, a ray of sunshine, a leaf, a caterpillar, a flower, laughter, raindrops. If you live in awareness, it is easy to see miracles everywhere.

I believe that once you find something you love, something that works, why keep looking for more? People always think there is something better around the corner. I decided a long time ago I’d stop wasting my time looking for something better and enjoy what I had.

I didn’t get around to posting a tune yesterday, so I’m making today’s EXTRA tasty. SO for today’s spectacularly tasty tune we have none other than the lovely Lalah Hathaway and snazzy Snarky Puppy performing the song, “Something.” There are honestly no words to describe the epicness of this tune. It’s got nice subtle groove complete with some super sexy and mysterious sounding instrumentation that is later revved up and taken incredible heights. Lalah’s vocal work is absolutely INSANE. There are simply no words. You just have got to listen this tune to truly appreciate its subtle intricacy. It’s truly something special.

Today’s tune is, “Ain’t it Fun” and is performed by one of my favorite bands ever, Paramore. I’m not sure why they haven’t gained this much recognition until now, but hey, I’m not complaining, they’re finally getting it, and I couldn’t be happier. The fact that Paramore’s sound has evolved over the years and that they continue to experiment with different musical qualities and techniques is super hip. They don’t confine themselves to one genre and stay true to themselves by making the music they love. It’s refreshing to say the least. So… long story short, Paramore is the bees knees. This song is off their newest album and its just plain groovy. Enjoy!
“That’s the part of the wonder of relationships: Anything that happened before we knew each other is slightly mysterious. It’s only the present we can know. And a conversation in the present is given shape by the lifetime of events and ideas that preceded it. There’s no need to go fishing for the past; it will make itself known.”

"Run, Run, Run" by Celeste Buckingham is today's tasty tune. I literally just spent the past hour or so dancing around to this song on repeat, so I figured it was worth the share. It's one of my JAMS. It's got a great beat complete with strong vocals and some groovy instrumentation. I especially love the subtle use of horns in this piece. It just gives this tune an extra flare that is absolutely delicious. I could listen to this song for hours. Hopefully you guys like it too! Also, she was 17 when she recorded this. Just throwing that out there. AMAZING.
I believe it is fear we should be fighting, not the ‘other.’ We all belong to the same human tribe; that kingship supersedes our differences.
Terry Ahwal, "Finding the Strength to Fight Our Fears", This I Believe II
Today’s tasty tune is significantly different from what I normally post, and comes to us from one of my favorite bands, Twenty One Pilots. The group consists of two members, Joshua Dun who plays drums and Tyler Joseph, who sings and plays piano. Together, they create some truly remarkable music. They have an extremely unique sound. A bit of rap here, some alternative and pop sounding moments there, it’s truly impossible to describe. But it’s part of the reason I love them so much. That and the fact that they’re just plain awesome. They do some amazing things with their music and really try to use it to spread a message and change the world. This video is a live take of their song Migraine. I hope you like it!

Today’s tasty tune comes to us from the crazy talented Fatai. Her channel is full of a variety of her covers of today’s most popular tunes. But don’t let that deceive you, her work is entirely her own. She truly knows how to take a song and completely morph it into something new and original. She definitely has a jazz influence to her tunes, but her arrangements have a very modern, John Mayerish, feel to them. Her work is absolutely amazing. This particular cover demonstrates that ability extremely well. Her talent is simply indescribable. I highly recommend exploring her channel.
Today was one of those days where I was too busy being busy that I pretty much just let the entire day slip by with out so much as a second thought. That being said, I was in need of something to unwind to and this was the perfect fix. Joanna Teters is a vocalist that studied music at none other than the Berklee College of Music. She's got some seriously sultry vocals that contrast beautifully with the laid-back instrumentation provided by the guitar in this tune. This is also an original composition of hers that she performed and recorded live. It's one tasty tune and its the perfect song to relax to after a long day. Enjoy!
