i love this idea of ciel being unable to meet sebastian’s gaze. it’s odd given how confident he is in his position above sebastian as his master, so i have to wonder if it’s something like shyness? not wanting to acknowledge how intimate these moments between the two of them could be, or maybe it’s something like sebastian’s gaze just being particularly intense? maybe a demon thing?

inspired by @devianta’s post about ciel sleep talking (not quite the same concept, but this was where my inspiration came from):

ciel having a nightmare and demanding sebastian stay in the room as usual. ciel who starts to sleep talk, saying things that don’t make sense and mumbling so much he’s hardly forming words, but sebastian just sits on his bed side for some time, stroking his hair and replying as if ciel were awake and speaking to him. little “mhm”s, “really?”s and “oh, you don’t say,” in a low voice, so soothing ciel eventually quiets down, as if listening to him speak.

seb fucking catboy ciel and tugging on his tail to pull him closer. catboy ciel who wraps his tail around sebastian’s arm or thigh to get his attention. ciel ducking his head under sebastian’s hand to get seb to pet him. ciel sinking his little fangs into sebastian when he’s annoyed, and seb who finds it so cute he won’t stop mentioning it for weeks. he still swoons when ciel’s fangs happen to peak through his lips, and loves to lick them when they kiss. ciel pretending he didn’t hear sebastian even though seb can see that his little ears twitched when seb spoke to him. sleepy ciel grooming sebastian’s hair in bed. ciel purring when sebastian carries him, feeling safe cuddled close to his chest. sleepy kitty ciel who stretches like a cat and seb who has to hold himself back from mounting ciel like a rabid dog <3

too young ciel who sneaks into a party for uni students and ends up playing seven minutes in heaven with seb … he’s clearly both too young and too drunk to play but no one really bothers to stop seb as he guides ciel with him to a wardrobe to play … ciel’s head is spinning too much to be shy, seb’s hands on him barely felt against his mostly numb body. seb having his way with a cute little drunk boy …

In regards to the possibility of Sebastian developing sentiments or feelings towards Ciel.. it doesn't really change the outcome.

In the sense that even if Sebastian chose to not eat his soul, he would only live for, at maximum, another 70 or so years. For a demon that remembers the language of ancient witches and, in Yana's words, would see even the oldest of humans as children, that would be nothing.

We also don't know anything about Sebastian's past. He could have become sentimental about past masters and spared them - but time has worn away any reminders of them, even if he cared for them. Assuming there's no way to make a human into a demon in the manga canon, then Sebastian will eventually watch Ciel die, by his own hand or otherwise.

I think the tragedy isn't that Sebastian will act on his nature and kill Ciel, but that no matter his feelings on the matter, Ciel will die. And Sebastian will be alive and alone again for the rest of.. forever.
