“Now… run…”
I'm thinking about the red angel in Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein. Specifically, that Victor believes himself to be compelled/encouraged by forces beyond his control (like in the 1831 revision to the story), while in reality, everything he does is of his own free will (like in the original 1818 text). The angel slowly turning into something grotesque and menacing after Victor creates the Creature, as though he is wrestling with his personal accountability, seeing the angel for what it was the entire time: ego, vanity, pride, and all the things that compel man to create and destroy. Anyways. What a movie.
Anyone else see Del Toro referencing the Fallen Angel painting in the creature's/Adam's movie posters. He also has the fallen angel as a banner on his Twitter.
I ought to be thy Adam, but I am rather the fallen angel
