Oh my gosh, Tate!
“I’m glad you’re back!”
Gosh, Imogen and I needed that vacation. It felt good to be out of the house for a while.
“Zelda!”
A wide smile fell across her lips as he spoke, her eyes lighting up. “You’re wrong,” she mumbled, giving him a smile. “I do have the world with you, Tate. You’re everything I could possibly want and more,” she whispered, nodding her head. After several seconds, her eyes left his as she peered down at her stomach. “They’re going to love you so, so much,” she mumbled, giving him a wide and genuine smile.
Tate grinned with the shaking of his head. “No, there are plenty better ways you could live but no matter how many ways there are, I’m glad you chose to be with me.” He folded his hands in his lap, no longer wanting to eat the leftover bits on his plate. He took a long drink of the sparkling juice before replying, “I really hope so. Even with my... Condition,” he looked down briefly.

“It is and I’m just so happy about it because I’ve always wanted a boy.”
“Boys can be difficult, I hear. But nonetheless, they’re probably wonderful.”
As Tate spoke, she couldn’t help but let a small smile take place on her features. “I know,” she mumbled quietly, nodding her head. “I’m glad you’re here with me too,” she muttered, giving him a wide smile. “I’m glad you chose me over all the other girls in the world,” she added, smiling widely, “it makes me feel special, I guess?” Lillian watched as he stood up, nodding her head. “Probably but, that’s okay. As long as I’ve got you, I’ve got the world.”
Tate grinned and mumbled a small laugh as he heard what she replied with. His hands immediately going back to the food in front of him, he was definitely still hungry. “No, Lill. I’ve got the world with you and this beautiful baby some gender or other,” he smirked as he lightly joked through his seriousness.
Lillian couldn’t help but laugh when he pretended to be thinking, shaking her head slightly. “You know, me either,” she added with a grin.
Tate smirked and ran a hand through his shaggy hair. “Aren’t we smart then,” he winked.
Baby number two is a boy and I’m so excited! Like, I’m already ready to start getting his nursery together and everything.
“I’m glad you’re excited. It’s a big deal.”
“I don’t understand this…so what you’re saying is, I have to get up at three am every time, it cries?”
“It? Fetus’ are still people...”
Lillian smiled at Tate softly, happy that she could actually calm him down. She knew that what she’d just said to him was true. There was no way she could ever hurt him, it just wasn’t possible. She was so in love with him that she couldn’t even imagine a life without him. “I won’t let anyone or anything hurt you,” she whispered quietly, shaking her head. “I promise.”
Tate then straightened slightly and shook his head at her. “I won’t let anything happen to either one of you,” he stated, matter-of-factly. “I would throw myself in front of a bullet for you. I am so glad you’re here with me,” he smiled slightly and stood up off of his knee. “Wedding planning might be hard...”
“For sure! What would I ever do without you?” Lillian gave him a wide smile before laughing.
Tate pretended like he was thinking for a moment before replying with a cocky smile. “You know what? I have no idea.”
Lillian gave Tate a small smile, nodding her head. “That’s good,” she murmured softly, still smiling. Once he’d taken her hands in his, she gave them a tiny squeeze, noticing that he’d taken a deep breath. “It’s alright,” she mumbled, giving him a tiny smile. “It’s just me,” she whispered, shaking her head slightly. “I’d never do anything to hurt you, Tate.”
Tate teared up in the slightest bit when she spoke and her voice actually calmed him plenty. His heartbeat was fast but only because he was now engaged, and he drew in a more calm breath now. Tate nodded, “I know.” He smiled at her happily.
“I’ll have started a lame joke movement. It’ll be the best,” she added with a wide smile. “But, then I guess lame jokes would kind of be overused so, maybe I’ll just tell them to you.”
Tate nodded at her conclusion, “good thing I thought first.” He tapped his head jokingly with a grin.
Lillian couldn’t help but smile widely back at him, her breath hitching in her throat as he took her by her waist. Once he’d pulled her into a hug, she wasn’t sure what to do, unsure of if he was okay with the physical touch or not. As he pulled back, she smile again softly, watching as he slid the ring onto her finger. “Are you okay?” Lillian looked up at him, giving him a small smile.
Tate looked over Lillian’s face briefly, usually he would be mid-breakdown by now with the touch he had given but the happiness he felt seemed to override any fear he contained. “Actually,” he grinned. “Yeah, I am.” He then took her hands in his, slowly calming down enough to feel the slight anxiety in his chest. He took a deep breath.
“Lame jokes are the best jokes,” she added with a smile. “I’m going to teach our kid tons of lame jokes just so they can tell you them.”
‘i guess they are,” he smiled. “That will truly be something else then, they’ll tell their friends too. Then their friends will tell their parents, what will you start Lill?”
Two more months until the twins come and I’m freaking out. Like, I can’t even hold a baby properly, how the hell am I supposed to take care of one?
“I’m sure everyone here will help.”
“What? Trust?”
“Yeah.”
