      It wasn’t exactly a small task to climb to the top of the pyramid on Yavin 4. Passing floor after floor of stairs and corridors that at times all seemed to look the same, Luke himself had gotten turned-around more than once on his first few climbs. Now, however, he frequented that overlook. The quiet seclusion of it made it ideal for meditation, but in truth it was the view that drew him there.

      “I used to dream about places like this, back home.” How odd it seemed, that he still thought of Tatooine as a home after so long, even though he’d found a new one. “... Trees. Forests. Places where water actually falls out of the sky. Of course, that’s probably the dream of most moisture farmers.” 

      A soft chuckle formed in his throat as he averted his gaze from the horizon, turning instead to the person beside him with a small smile. “This place feels more alive than I ever expected, though. Maybe it’s partially the Force, but I don’t think holos could really do a place like this justice.”

      A small smile pulled upward at the corners of Luke’s mouth. It was, assuredly, acliché; he didn’t even know how many holodramas had used a similar line of dialog. Still, it was an understandable request, no matter how often the phrasing had been used.

      “Of course. I’m sure that Leia would be interested in speaking with you.”

       Between one thought and the next, Solo held himself still, in a wide margin of florescent light that reflected off of exposed durasteel, a smooth gleaming where paint had chipped and lay bare a better part of his ship.  Much like how he was now, exposed to Luke, his long-worn independence stripped away to reveal a rusted hull beneath, with all sharp edges he couldn’t ever bear to uncover, afraid to behold anything that could solidify actuality.  So afraid to hurt.

Damaged.  ‘S what you are.    One end of his generous mouth curled up at the bitter thought.  Caught to the freedom, to the sharp boundary of this feeling — LOVE — a limit inside him he had yet to overcome …

      Brows furrowed in question as he looked up to meet Han’s gaze. Luke had thought he had understood what the man had been implying, but... could he have misinterpreted it? Uncertainty seemed to grip him again for a moment, coiling around his heart and pulling it down like that creature in the Death Star’s trash compactor... But in the Force, he felt a sense of nervousness from Han as well - and somehow, that feeling of a connection somewhat eased his own fears.

      “... Haven't I?” - Please, Han, tell me I did...  The Jedi rocked back slightly on his heels, his teeth catching the inside of his lower lip as he considered what to say next, what to do next. His mind swirled with a dozen possible ways to convey what he truly felt, but all of them seemed to vanish before they could reach his tongue.        Say something, Skywalker.

      “You know, if you hadn’t stayed with the Alliance after Yavin... after the Death Star, I might have tried to go with you. I thought about it a lot. I doubted that I could stop you, and I didn’t even know if you’d want me there, but... I wanted to stay with you.” He urged himself to keep going, before he could overthink what he was trying to convey. “You... mean a lot to me, Han. More than I can say.”

  I like to think that Luke can probably cook some simple things to some degree of success, but anything more complex would likely not have the best results, lol. xD And let’s be honest, he would try to make something complicated if he thought Han would like it.

small headcanon;; I feel like Luke would be the sort of guy who's generally pretty quiet about valentine's day (or the SW equivalent of it... is there a love day or something?), but always tries to set up something so he can spend some time with the person he loves.

He's the type to find a quiet place with a nice view and stash a picnic basket there so he can surprise them with a nice lunch when they get there - just the two of them, away from the base or the city or wherever else. Some time to be alone with them and just enjoy being with them.

      Gaze averted for a moment, Luke’s blue eyes focused briefly upon a random portion of floor paneling. His lips pulled ever slightly upwards in the beginning of a smile, but there was the slightest hint of hesitation in the movement. In many respects his own feelings were similar, but the question of whether a Jedi should allow for such emotion still lingered in the back of his thoughts. Yoda had seemed to imply otherwise, but... 

      “There are times when being with you makes me feel like I’m standing in a desert storm, Han.” In many ways it was an apt analogy; storms ( true storms, not just sandstorms ) on Tatooine were rare, and turbulent - but in those once-in-a-lifetime storms when rain fell, they could also be described as life-giving. “And yet, there’s nowhere else I’d rather stand than by your side.”

      Luke could not prevent a soft, surprised sound from escaping him in reaction to the song that had begun to play over the sound system. He’d seen the holodramas that had been, very loosely, based off of himself and his friends, but this was the first song he’d heard about any of them. It was… quite catchy, actually.

      He’d have to tell Han. He was already wondering just how the former smuggler would react to this.
