I never see this version of a next gen trio but they have always been mine so here is a characterisation that no one asked for.
These three grew up like siblings. Since they were born just within in a month there was truly no world where they wouldn't become inseparable.
I have also written like 3 one shots for them :)
Do you get deja-vu?
"They are gonna be trouble, aren't they?"
'Please just shut up!'
Rose Granger-Weasley
Birthday: November 16th 2005
House: Gryffindor
She's the irresponsible mom of the group who will most definitely get you out of trouble after getting you into it.
She'd rather die than turn in an assignment late and will humble you while checking your essays. In general she is the kind to not have to try too hard to get decent grades but she'll hustle to get excellent ones.
Loves Quidditch and plays as Chaser. As a kid she always dared James to a race, beating him quite a few times despite being 2 years younger than him.
She is more of an extrovert that gets into a fair amount of parties. Socialising comes easy to her and she loves small talk.
Very judgy and petty at times. Loves to argue, but takes a while to see when she was wrong. She'll most likely never apologise first.
In the trio, she's the oldest (barely) and has to make sure people know so. She'd do anything for the other two while also verbally dragging them whenever she gets the chance (in a fun way ofc)
Albus *redacted* Potter
Birthday: November 28th 2005
House: Slytherin
He's the introvert in a family full of extroverts and this trio is no exception. He has to be dragged everywhere and always puts up a fight even though he secretly doesn't mind.
He doesn't care too much about school, but loves Potions and Charms. His grades are fine, but Rose is convinced he would be top of his class if he just tried a little.
He hated being sorted into Slytherin until he found it wasn't at all what he had convinced himself it was. He has found a few friends and gets along with a lot of people.
He tolerates those he doesn't like and just tries to ignore comments that get thrown at him on the daily. Though some of them hurt him more than he'd like to admit.
He's an expert at keeping things to himself causing things to explode when he does say what's bothering him. He also apologises for everything and everyone even when he really shouldn't have to.
In the trio he's the certified middle child who has the ability to ground the other two by playing peace maker. Whenever there is a Hufflepuff and Gryffindor Quidditch match he makes sure to where the colours for both teams.
Louis Weasley
Birthday: December 10th 2005
House: Hufflepuff
An absolute menace to society with a golden retriever energy. He cares a lot about the little things and not enough about the big ones. Including grades.
He's the kindest and most loyal person who's had a crush on the same girl since first year. He will mot give up and is convinced the universe will work it out for him.
Loves to play Quidditch, especially against Rose.
Everyone is convinced there's not a single thing that could ruin his mood because he radiates positive energy.
Sometimes he likes to mess with people and will use his Veela powers to get his way. Which he knows is toxic but he calls it "God's will".
He's a bit cocky (it's giving jock) and doesn't think before he speaks. Though he means well he comes across as too much sometimes, which scares people away.
In the trio he is the instigator who will propose a plan and then won't accept a no. He's also the hugger of the trio, much to the disliking of his companions.

Yet, it can be as loud as sirens piercing through the night. George had never known silence. For all of 20 years, it had never been quiet. Fred made sure of that.
Fred. Just thinking of the name stung Georgeâs chest, and another painful lump started to form in his throat. He swallowed hard to prevent the burning tears in his eyes from falling onto his cheeks. Feeling the stares of his family on him, George made sure to avoid darting his eyes around. He had fixated his view on one of the broken windows in the Great Hall. The rays of dawn reflected a pattern onto the ground in front of it.
It was beautiful â George hated it. Nothing about today was beautiful, and he was afraid it might never be like that again.Â
âYou should get some rest,â George startled at the sound beside him. He knew without looking that it was the voice of his younger brother. It had become deeper since the last time he had seen him. George noticed.
âIâm not tired.â
Ron placed a too-gentle hand on his brotherâs arm and pressed it lightly, âI know, but you should still rest.â
âIâm resting.â
âGeorge.â
âJust leave.â
Ron sighed, removing his hand and standing up, âWeâre going up to Gryffindor Tower. You can join us whenever youâre ready.â
George mumbled something between an âokayâ and âleave me aloneâ, still staring at the pattern on the ground. When he felt Ron walk away, he focused his eyes on his back, following his confident movement. He had grown up so much, George noticed again.Â
He watched as his younger brother embraced their mother and father, took Hermioneâs hand and walked out the entrance as if it was nothing. As if he had not been just a dumb 11-year-old yesterday. George felt the corners of his mouth move up and wondered whenever that had happened. His smile dropped the moment his eyes caught sight of Percy, who had his head in his hands. To his right, Charlie had placed a comforting arm around him and was whispering something that George couldnât hear. Behind them were Bill and Fleur, arm in arm.Â
âMerlin, canât they get it together?â His chuckle died in his throat when he turned his head to the empty spot on his right. Oh right.
Hermione laughs at Ronâs jokes, Rose rolls her eyes but secretly loves them, but Hugo is in stitches at Ronâs jokes and sense of humour in general and itâs Hugoâs laughter that breaks the ice.
Rose becomes a Taylor Swift fan, and Ron and Hermione realise one or two things about their relationship. Oh and Harry is there to poke fun at them.

.....
It started, as many things did in the Granger-Weasley household, with an unexpected obsession. As the months turned into summer and Rose returned from her third year at Hogwarts, she had developed a new hyperfixation.Â
âCan we please play it again?â Rose asked from the backseat, clutching her phone like it was the Elder Wand itself.
âRose,â Hermione sighed, âweâve listened to it five times already.â
Â
âSix,â Harry muttered under his breath from his awkward position in the middle of the backseat between Rose and Hugo. His legs crammed beside a suspiciously sticky juice box and a half-eaten Chocolate Frog.
Â
âYou donât get to complain, Uncle Harry. You could have gone with Aunt Ginny.â
âAnd die on my way to the beach? No thanks. That woman drives like a lunatic.â
Â
Rose side-eyed him before rolling her eyes and focusing back on her parents in the front. â Please! Only one more time!â
âYou said that three times ago, sweetheart,â Ron chuckled.
â Pleeeeeeaaaaaaaaasssseeeeeeeeeee ,â she whined, kicking her legs dramatically against the front seat.
âYou need to relax,â Hugo chimed in, unfolding the wrapper of yet another chocolate frog. âItâs just a song.â
âExactly, so we can listen to it again."
âItâs girls' music,â he sighed dramatically.
âItâs music, you troll.â
âOi, enough,â Ron called from the front. âIf I have to pull this car over, youâll both be listening to Celestina Warbeck the whole ride, and nobody wants that.
Hermione shuddered, âPlease no.â
Â
âHarry,â Rose said, turning her attention away from her parents, âam I not your favourite niece?
âI donât play favourites.â
âYes, you do,â Hermione and Ron say in unison.
âThank you, guys. Really helpful.â
âAnd donât you love Taylor Swift?â Rose continued ignoring her parents.
âI think she makes good music,â he nodded.
âOkay, itâs settled the Chosen One said We can play it again.â Rose grinned and, without waiting for further democratic input, hit play.
Harry fell into his seat as the familiar twang of the opening notes to You Belong With Me rang out through the carâs sound system. The modified Honda, which Hermione had insisted on buying after one too many traumatic side-along Apparations with Ron, didnât have the best sound, but that didnât seem to matter too much because most of what you could hear was Roseâs voice singing along.Â
As the lyrics said something about cheerleaders and T-shirts, Harryâs eyes slowly widened. About a third of the way into the song, he leaned forward, very slowly, to look between Ron and Hermione.
âOh no,â he said, grinning. âOh no no no.â
âWhat?â Hermione asked, turning to look at him.
âThis is you two,â Harry said, amused. âThis entire song is your sixth year.â
âIt is not!â Hermione argued.
âLast I remember, I didnât wear a cheer skirt,â Ron added, slightly offended.
âMaybe not, but Hermione was on the sideline and you were dating Lavender Brown.â
Ron stilled, âI â, thatâs completely different!â
Â
"Oh, really?" Harry continued with glee, ââ Sheâs cheer captain, and Iâm on the bleachersâ sounds a lot like someone who couldnât keep his mouth detached from a certain someone and someone else who tried to curse birds to death.â
âThe birds were fine!â Hermione stated a little too loud, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink.â
Â
âWait, what bird?â Rose asked, pausing mid hair-flip.
âNo bird,â Hermione said quickly.
âShe tried to kill me with canaries,â Ron whispered, causing Harry to burst out laughing.
Rose squinted suspiciously, her eyes wandering from Ron to Harry. âThat sounds â uhm. Romantic?â
âIt was not!â Hermione snapped, which made Harry laugh even harder and made Ron cough to hide his own laughter.
Â
âI am just saying,â Harry tried to speak through his giggles. âHermione did have a thing for the emotionally unavailable Ginger best friend while he was with someone else.â
âI wasnât emotionally unavailable , I was just thick ,â Ron protested.
âYouâre still thick, love,â Hermione muttered, squeezing his knee lightly.
âNot the point, darling.â
âWait,â Hugo piped up, âdoes this mean Mum is like Taylor Swift?â
âYES,â Rose shrieked, âwhich means you have to like her, Dad. Because Mum is basically Taylor Swift.â
âThatâs not â,â Hermione began, but Ron cut in with a smirk.
âI dunno, Taylor does seem bossy, brilliant, terrifying when angry ââ
âRon.â
â- and writes painfully accurate songs about people who annoy her.â
Â
Harry was wheezing with laughter now, âYou know if the shoe fits.â
Â
âHonestly,â Hermione muttered, rolling her eyes the same way her daughter had done earlier, âthis entire family is impossible.âÂ
âNot me!â Hugo said cheerfully, âIâm always on your side, so I say we switch to Weird Sisters. Or Goblin Core!â
âYou canât escape Taylor, Hugs,â Rose explains. âShe finds you.â
âSheâs like Voldemort,â Harry stated, nodding, âexcept with better choruses.â
âNever say that again,â Rose gasps.
Â
âHonestly, can we just listen to something else?â Hermion asked, rubbing her temples.
âNope,â Ron grinned, tapping the rhythm on the steering wheel, âIâm invested now. I want to hear how it ends.â
âWeâve listened to this song six times,â Harry laughs, âShe just wants the guy to realise that sheâs the better match.â
âBeen there,â Ron muttered under his breath.
Hermione shot him a look. âExcuse me?â
âNothing,â he said quickly, âLove you!â
Taylor was hitting the finale chorus now, Rose belting along at full volume, hitting none of the notes Taylor had intended. She was dramatically dancing in her seat while pointing out the window as if she, too, was being wrongfully ignored by a red-haired Quidditch keeper.
Harry leaned forward. âYou know, Hermione. If youâd written a song instead of throwing birds at him, sixth year might have gone a bit differently.
Hermione sighed and turned to flick Harryâs forehead, âShut it, Potter.â
Harry rubbed his forehead as Ron started laughing again.
âBesides, Ron wouldnât have noticed it no matter how obvious I would have been. And as a matter of fact I did write something.â
âA list of character flaws doesnât count,â Ron said.
âI was fifteen !â
âAnd we were morons,â Ron said affectionately, winking at his wife.
Â
The song faded, and Rose turned down the volume. âSo you guys were like a real-life love triangle ?â
âMore like a really poorly constructed love hexagon,â Harry stated. âDonât ask about Viktor Krum.â
âI will ask,â Rose nodded.
âLetâs not bring him up right now,â Ron muttered.
âFine,â Hermione agreed, âBut no more Taylor Swift on repeat.â
âDeal,â Rose said, smirking.
Â
The next song started, and as the lyrics to The Way I Loved You echoed through the car, Hermione thought she might go insane.
Harry just laughed and leaned back into the middle seat, already humming along, âAre you sure Taylor Swift didnât have access to your entire love story?â

The house was a mess. Hugo was crying, and Ron was trying to calm him. Hermione was running around their living room, trying to tidy as much of the mess as possible.
âRon, have you seen the present?â she yelled, barely loud enough for Ron to hear over the wailing of their three-year-old toddler.
âWhat?â
âThe present for my cousin?â
âWhat?â
âUgh, for Christâs sake,â she huffed and started towards their kitchen, âI asked if you have seen the present for my cousin.â
âItâs on the counter,â he pointed at the kitchen counter behind her. Hermione turned around and spotted the large (and ugly) vase her cousin Patricia had put on her registry.
She lifted it from the counter and turned it around.Â
âThis might be the ugliest thing Iâve ever seen.â
âWhat about that one baby they put next to Hugo when he was born?â Ron asked behind her.
She turned around, âDonât say that about someone elseâs child, Ron.â
Ron put both his hands up and mumbled something under his breath to Hugo. The toddler laughed.
âWhat did you tell him?â Hermione furrowed her eyebrows.
âNothing.â
âNothing?â
âCorrect.â
âWell, at least he isnât crying anymore.â Hermione turned around and placed the vase on top of the counter.
âHave you seen Rose?â
âShe was getting dressed the last time I saw her.â
âDressed? But she was alreaâ oh no.â
âWhat?â Ron asked, but his wife was already out of the room and running up the stairs.
On the first floor, Hermione was immediately met with their daughter wearing her beige bridesmaid dress.
âRose, sweetheart, didnât we talk about not wearing the dress on our way to the church?â
âBut Iâm a bridesmaid,â the five-year-old said matter-of-factly, sounding a little too much like her mother.Â
âYes, but you donât want to get it all dirty before we get there. Itâs a long drive there.â
Rose huffed. âBut itâs my big day.â
Hermione chuckled, âRose, sweety, itâs Patriciaâs big day.â
âI wish you would stop saying that,â the girl crossed her arms in front of her chest, âbesides you are wearing what you are wearing later. How come you donât have to change?â
âWell, Iâm not the one who spills everything, right?â
âI donât spill everything,â Rose mumbled, âI only do it sometimes, and today is not sometimes.â
âRose, please.â
âNo.â
âPlease.â
âMh mh,â she shook her head.
Hermione looked at her watch and sighed, âFine. But if you spill anything, I will let you walk around with that stain.â
Rose walked past her towards the stairs. âI already said, today isnât sometimes.â
Mother and daughter walk down the stairs where Ron and Hugo are already waiting and ready to go.
âHey Rosie bear, werenât you supposââ Ron stopped his sentence as he spotted Hermione mouthing âdon'tâ to him while shaking her head.
âYou look beautiful, sweetie.â
âThank you, Daddy. I know.â Rose walked straight past him out the door and towards their car.
Ron chuckled and turned to Hermione, âSo she didnât wanna take off that dress, huh?â
âSome battles are not worth fighting,â Hermione sighed and kissed the top of Hugoâs head in Ronâs arms.
âYou look beautiful, too, by the way.â
âThank you, love. So do you.â
Ron kissed her softly on the mouth. âI know.â
âARE YOU COMING?â Rose yelled from outside, âMY DRESS WILL GET DIRTY.â
His eye caught on a lone, pale purple wildflower that had fluttered to the blanket during their tussle with the grass, and he plucked it up and tentatively held it out to her.
âPurple. Thatâs your favourite colour, yeah?â
She nodded. âLilac.â
She took the flower from his grasp, their fingers brushing, the simple action causing her breath to hitch in a way she sincerely hoped hadnât been noticeable. âItâs a common dog-violet. Itâs very pretty,â she remarked as she tucked it behind her ear, its purple petals framed by her bushy tendrils.
âIt suits you,â he admitted shyly, averting his gaze once more.
