As you all know, I am brazilian. Elections took us to the worst case scenario ever, and now we have a fascist president. We’re already screwed, but I am worried about you guys.
Usually, Latin America follows some kind of patterns when it comes to politics. If neofascism could rise strongly in Brazil, it can happen to you guys too. PLEASE don’t let it happen to you too.
If a politician starts saying he’s gonna save your country from communism, leftists, gays or whatever, DON’T LET HIM GROW INTO THE POLITICS OF YOUR COUNTRY. Don’t give him attention.
You guys need to fight or else fascism is gonna spread. We need to break this chain, or else we’re gonna relive that period between the 60’s and the 90’s all over again.

i know none of you guys come to tumblr for politics, especially from a country that’s not yours, but the thing that needs to be understood is that Brazil is one of the most mixed in race, religion and ethnicity in the world. our democracy is merely thirty years old, we were in a dictatorship for TWENTY years before that. and the man that was voted our president now claims that he’s in favor of a dictatorship, he’s for torture, he thinks lgbt kids should be beaten up to turn straight and that he’d rather have a dead son than a gay one. he said in full words that he’s gonna govern for the majorities and the minorities can either leave or disappear, and then he said that he’s gonna dissipate anyone against him. all of that publicly, there’re videos of everything. he’s been called by many developed countries as the new hitler. we’re the fifth largest country in the world, and minority by minority, he’s gonna destroy us. i’ve never been so scared.

I’ll never not reblog this. I had to quit a job I desperately needed because another girl I worked with would. not. stop. touching. my. ass. I filed a complaint and everything. She was not fired, or even reprimanded. I had my paycheck withheld for months (legal where I lived). Seriously. Don’t touch people without permission, and don’t touch people “familiarly” in that way at work. Not only is it not right, it’s inappropriate in a workplace.
