Chase didnât fight her walking away. What was the point? He knew what she was going to do. He also knew that that sort of sickness didnât go away in a day or even a month. The most he could do would be to sit and wait for her to come back around.Â
When she finally did he reached out and took her hand up, âEverything is going to be okay.â Bringing her hand up to his lips he placed a kiss on the back of it.Â
He couldnât help but to feel partially responsible for this bought of purging. He should never had ran at the gunman. She already had the damage of having had her ex shoot himself. Guns were a sensitive subject, but that had been the last thing on his mind in that moment. All he had seen was Lauren.
Taylor gave him a soft smile and lightly squeezed his hand as she nodded. She had no doubts that everything would be okay. The events of the day were still heavy on her mind, but the shock would slowly wear off and the world would look a lot nicer tomorrow.
Her gaze went to Lauren, who was still unconscious. She should come out of it any minute since the MRI hadn't shown any dangerous brain bleeds. Taylor had never had a chance to talk to her before, something she definitely wanted to do in the near future. Lauren was her boyfriend's sister and she was hoping to have a good relationship with the girl one day.
Looking back at Chase, her eyes searched his. "Do you want me to stay or give you some privacy?" She couldn't tell if she was in the way or if he needed her there. The last thing she wanted was to stick around when he wanted to be alone with his sister. "Or do you want me to get you something? Coffee?", she added, still holding his hand.
