“Leo?” Taylor peeked into the dojo and saw the familiar scene of the giant turtle silently meditating. She knew this wasn’t the best time to come and talk to him, he always took his routine practices very seriously after all.

Taylor sighed reluctantly. No…this had to be now. She tip toed towards Leonardo and knelt down in front of him. For a moment, she took the time to gaze up at Leo.

His eyes were still closed as he sat cross-legged, his hands resting on his knees, palms up. It was the slight twitch of his lips that showed he was aware of her and listening.

“Leo…I really don’t want you making sushi for dinner tonight.” Taylor finally stated. “You always put way too much vinegar in the rice.”

He was silent at first. Listening to her sit down in front of him as his breaths remained short and shallow. His lips twitching to show his awareness.. Though as she confessed his expression didn’t change. He made a mental note followed by a break in his features shortly after silence stirred again. A smile and blue hues appeared as they gazed down at Taylor. “ You could have told me sooner. “

A snicker as he took a deep breath. Eyes closing once more and his nose being pointed in the air slightly. “ What do you want tonight besides sushi? I can make anything you want or we can eat out. “

“I don’t know...maybe we could make some tacos?” Taylor suggested, inwardly relieved that Leo took no offense to her shut down of the prior sushi plan. “And sorry I didn’t say anything about the sushi...you always looked so proud every time you made it.” She giggled.

Taylor then moved a little closer to the giant turtle and lightly tapped his calves with her fingers, now testing how long Leo could concentrate with her attempts.

“Is there something you’re in the mood for? I already know pizza is a given...” She shuffled on her knees over to his side and rested an elbow casually on his thigh, looking up at him expectantly.

But he was still Leonardo, wasn’t he? After he had explained to her the accommodations he now had to make for his new way of life, she wanted to feel reassured and more sympathetic, but could she truly?

Taylor was startled from her thoughts as a giant, but gentle green hand took hers. She looked up at him, into those now red eyes...those eyes that held a deep hunger underneath..

“Trust me.”

Taylor stayed silent as she held his gaze, then gave his hand a small squeeze.
