“Yeah, my place, you can have whatever you want from me, Taylor.” She said, mimicking the girl’s action of resting her chin in her palm, the blonde biting down on her lip this time. “God, you are so beautiful.” She thought out loud, she didn’t necessarily mean to say it to Taylor, but wasn’t phased that she had, it was no secret that she was interested in her. The waitress couldn’t come fast enough, and when she did, Tierney had to keep her chill and find a good balance between hurrying the hell up and acting casual. She drove them back to her place, a modest apartment she shared with her brother who was currently celebrating finals being over by going on a church trip like the party animal he was. After she unlocked the door, Tierney let Taylor in first, and locked the door behind them, tossing her keys in the bowl designated for just that. “Yeah, so this is my place, be it ever so humble.” She said, strolling up to her side and taking one of Taylor’s hands with her own, her eyes locked with her guests, “Do you want anything?”
Tierney’s words echoed in Taylor’s head the entire time they rode to her place. Even when she sung along to one of the songs on the radio and yelled at bad drivers from the passenger seat (she was guilty of backseat driving on more than occasion). Taylor had been called beautiful before. By her parents, eager men --Tierney’s father being one of them -- a few encouraging women and some suitors in between, but something about the way she said it stayed with her. It didn’t feel like she expected anything from it. It felt honest and innocent. Taylor peeked into the apartment first before stepping in fully, a curious smile on her face as she examined it. Recon she told herself. It seemed just like the place the Mayer Twins would share. She could almost differentiate the items they’d picked out. “I like it.” She said and squeezed Tierney’s hand with a grin. “Depends. Do you count as anything?”
Tierney couldn’t put her finger on it, but it was something about the way Taylor answered her that didn’t mesh with Tierney, something that sounded just a little suggestive, and okay she was almost positive it was her Preston induced insecurities, but fuck it, it was happening. “Yeah, he’s great I guess.” She said, looking around at her than at Taylor. It was petty, but she couldn’t help it, she’d gone to bible study with Preston, she didn’t really feel a spiritual connection, so what was he doing that made her feel it, whatever it was so much? She just needed a few minutes to come to terms with how silly she was being and she would be good again, she was sure of it. “Yeah, Jane Fonda don’t got shit on her.” The waitress picked up the check book and left their table again right around the time Taylor’s foot ran over her calf, and that did it, it snapped her back to he reality of things, that she had nothing to be jealous of because she was the one Taylor was spending time with, the one who Taylor was playing footsie with, and she hadn’t actually done anything. “I have a few ideas in mind if you wanna skip the walk and go to my place?”
For a fleeting second, Taylor almost regretted playing her little revenge game in this moment. They’d been having a good time and a small part of her cursed Tierney for even bringing up Preston when it could’ve easily been avoided -- at least for the day -- but she still felt gratification from the look on her face and the recognizable lilt of her voice. “Ooh, your place? Do I get the full tour?” Taylor grinned, resting her chin in the palm of her hand. “I’d like that.”
“Ohh, but I really want to.” She said and licked her lips subconsciously, there were several idiosyncrasies Taylor had that Tierney found endearing and the way she bit her lip was at the top of her list. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.” She laughed freely and when the waitress came back over with the check, Tierney picked up the book, and pulled her wallet out of her purse, slipping her card in and putting it off to the side, “How’s bible study going with my brother?” She asked casually, Tierney herself wasn’t into the honk if you love Jesus scene, but just like she asked Preston about his interests, she asked Taylor about what she perceived to be one of the girl’s curiosities based on what her brother told her. Truth be told, Taylor could tell her anything and she’d be willing to listen, slowly but surely, Tierney was peeling back the layers of Taylor Flick and she liked what she saw. “How do you feel about going for a walk after this? I could make the case to Ella that I at least attempted to work off the pizza and not be lying completely. Otherwise she makes me go to the gym and for two hours I am in hell.”
Taylor didn’t miss the way Tierney licked her lips and she used finishing off the contents of her glass to recover from the smirk playing at her own. “Bible study?” She paused, searching for her usual open-ended response, something to make Tierney question what was going on between Preston and herself (which was becoming increasingly harder as time passed and she spent more time with Tierney). “Amazing. I’m really feeling a spiritual connection thanks to that brother of yours..” She gushed subtly, sighing with a content smile. Perhaps it was lightweight -- a nearly nonexistent suggestion -- but she was sure it didn’t take much to rile something up between twins. Or she hoped because it was the best she could do right now with Tierney’s genuine interest and smile distracting her. “Two hours? Seriously? Ella certainly does go hard. During our walk we can think of some funner ways to burn calories..I’m certain they exist.” She said and ran her foot over the blonde’s calf for the third time since they’d sat down.
Tierney narrowed her eyes and unlocked her phone, she’d kept the stop watch running for the sake of their little wager and the blonde could hardly believe it, Taylor was right, 2 hours, 2 minutes. I’m impressed.” She said while she put her phone down, all smiles as she had been spending the day with the amazing woman sitting across from her. Tierney leaned over in response to her question, to meet Taylor for a kiss, the kind that was becoming all too casual between them in the best of ways, it wasn’t rushed, nor was it too drawn out. When she pulled away (only slightly) Tierney’s own voice had a flirty edge to it, “You should see what you get when you’re a bad girl.” She sat back down, but made up for the separation by reaching her hand over the table, and playing idly with the bracelet on Taylor’s wrist. “For the record you had help, I could have worn a shirt that didn’t showcase my boobs this good, so really we beat your record.”
After reciprocating the kiss, Taylor bit her lip, eyeing Tierney with a certain, unreadable glint in her eye. “Don’t tempt me.” It was ironic considering most everything Taylor did behind the scenes qualified as bad behavior. Still, she smirked, returning to her position, not even bothering to look when Tierney started playing with the bracelet she’d gotten her during Spring Break (which she notably hadn’t taken off since) -- too comfortable with the contact to question it. She wasn’t sure if it was the promise of pizza messing with her or the fumes from the hand sanitizer she’d used in the bathroom, but hearing them as a ‘we’ made her smile involuntarily. “Fine. We make a good team -- I’m referring to me and your boobs if you weren’t clear on that. Which do look great.” She teased, taking a sip of her soda.
Crumpling up the paper from her straw, Taylor laughed at some joke Tierney made and settled back into her seat with a bright grin before the time caught her attention. "I beat my personal record.” Taylor motioned to the clock sitting on the wall of the pizzeria they were sat in (by her request: deep dish was one of her guilty pleasures), reminding Tierney of the wager-less bet they had as they waited for their order. She had officially went over two hours without checking her emails, or anything school related. “What do I get for being a good girl?” She playfully purred, leaning over the two person table to be closer to the blonde’s face. Not that she would ever admit it, but it was incredibly easy to forget about her responsibilities with the other girl around. She found herself much more focused on her company than anything else in the room -- or world for that matter.
Tierney had hit a song she didn’t really like and made her exit from the dance floor. If Taylor was in a room, no matter how big, Tierney always found her, not by any real effort it was like her eyes knew that these days for the blonde the thing that was making any night or event or whatever was seeing or talking to her. She went over, feeling herself more than a little bit, and ran her hands through her hair, swinging it all over one side of her shoulder, then leaned down to take both of Taylor’s hands. “Oh no, you couldn’t have thought that was going to work. There’s no way in hell I’m letting you just sit down, but if you don’t want to dance, maybe you want to check out one of the greenhouses with me?”
Taylor had caught glimpses of Tierney dancing throughout the night and she couldn’t say the girl hadn’t held her eye. She’d made conversations awkward on more than one occasion considering her attention was on Tierney’s moves and not the speaker, but Taylor was oddly okay with not networking in favor of the other girl. Spotting her emerging from the dance floor, Taylor’s eyebrows instantly shot up, knowing that Tierney was going to make checking her phone near impossible. “The greenhouses?” She asked, peering around the blonde’s body towards the area she’d seen a parade of people trail in and out of since the start of this thing. Brushing her thumbs across Tierney’s skin, she bit her lip in contemplation before nodding,“Okay. If it’ll get me out of dancing.” She looked up at Tierney from her seat with a smile (the most genuine she’d given all night) and gently swung their arms, “Lead the way.”
“I’m fine with sitting, but you go ahead and dance. I’ll watch your stuff.” Taylor insisted, planting herself in her chair. She’d been dying to check her emails since she stepped foot into the dance and this was the perfect time to do so.
SPRING FLING 2K16.
Text || Taylor + Tierney
Tierney: Oh yeah? What did this acquaintance ask about me?
Taylor: She just recalled a certain New Year's kiss and wondered how things were going. I told her they were good..great even.
Taylor: What are you up to?
Text || Taylor + Tierney
Taylor: An acquaintance of mine asked about you :) It reminded me of grade school, but I didn't hate it.
Did Tierney check Taylor out when she answered the door? You bet she did, and she was positive that she wasn’t subtle about it. “Oh yeah I got you something, anything to get a crack at making you smile, Flick.” She flirted as she came inside, “You really think I’m the tease out of the two of us? Which one of us kissed the other and which one got missing for weeks?” Tierney asked rhetorically as she looked around, “This is exactly what I pictured, I mean I got an idea from facetime, but yeah the full Taylor Flick’s room effect is… totally you.” Where Taylor’s hands found their resting place surprised Tierney, but she didn’t let it show, nor did she mind in the slightest, the intimacy was nice, especially coming from her, “I went back into town before we left for the airport, found this, thought it would look nice on you,” Tierney said as she pulled out a small bag out of her pocket with a bracelet inside, “I have a hunch that these colors will look amazing on you.” Being that close to Taylor was an exercise in self control, especially since she had kissed her and she remembered fondly how amazing it was, all she wanted to do was kiss her again, but she didn’t, and instead looked between her and the bracelet, “Nailed it, I was so right.”
“You didn’t have to do that..who am I kidding? Let me see it.” Taylor poked in good-nature, but the sentiment was expressed with a sincerity that was actually sincere. People didn’t go out of their way for other people, not unless there was something to gain, at least those were Taylor’s observations on things. And, here was Tierney, getting her a bracelet that she didn’t actually deserve all things considered. It was sweet and the smile on Taylor’s face was warm, but not exactly swayed for the simple fact that it couldn’t be. She didn’t say much while she explained her reasons for picking it, just shifted her eyes from Tierney’s to the item in question. “I love it.” Taylor said, accepting the bracelet and securing it around her wrist. “I think so.” She agreed with a laugh, modeling the bracelet. “Thank you, Tierney.” Not to be outdone, and just for the simple fact that the last time they kissed Taylor suddenly became busy (which wasn’t exactly good for her ploy), she initiated their kiss this time. Short and sweet, but just enough to hopefully make the blonde hungry for more. Pulling away, she smirked, “Don’t worry, I won’t disappear this time.”
Tierney had done some dumb things in her life, and this was another one. She was so eager to see Taylor that she didn’t take into consideration that she had just been on a plane for hours and though she showered, she didn’t exactly feel like she looked like a million bucks, but she would fake it until she made it. On top of that, she had the daunting task of dressing casual, comfortable, but still look hot, all without looking like she was trying (because that wouldn’t be cool at all). It took a while, but the blonde had settled on something she was mildly satisfied with, a navy blue Henley (they always made her boobs look awesome) and a pair of gray joggers, and she made sure not to forget the little trinket that she’d gotten Taylor from Ibiza. She went to her crush’s dorm, all in all it was a little less than an hour from when they were texting. She knocked waited, trying to find her chill because she was going to need it, when Taylor opened the door, Tierney gave her smirk, “So I might have gotten you something before I left for the airport.”
By the time Tierney was arriving, Taylor had already added the finishing touches to her slideshow for her afternoon class, freshened up, and typed up the weekly agenda for Student government -- her version of clearing her schedule: getting all her work done before Tierney’s arrival. She reasoned it was easier to focus on retribution with an empty schedule. At the sound of her knocking, she closed her laptop and slid it to the side (making a mental note to email her professor), and slipped off of her bed. Giving herself a once over in the mirror, she smoothed out her oversized shirt, and made sure her braid was the perfect combination of loose and styled before heading to the door, smiling as she greeted the other girl. “You got me something?” She acknowledged, playfully swatting at her arm while her head rested against the frame. “Come in you tease.” She joked in reference to the agonize comment she’d made over facetime. Stepping aside to fully let her in, she closed the door behind both of them. Her dorm, as always, was in immaculate condition, the scented candles on her dresser making it smell of vanilla and lavender (one of her favorite candle scents next to gardenia). “What’d you get me?” She prodded carefully, poking the blonde in her midsection, the corners of her lips turned up in speculative excitement, her hands coming to rest at Tierney’s sides without thought. Sure, at present, Taylor was fully committed to the plan she’d made, but what girl could resist a gift? And, admittedly -- or, not so much, Tierney was making it harder and harder to play pretend.
