Chat Blanc is one of the most morbid episodes on MLB to date. (Although, Im certain Marinette doesn’t) I’m glad they lose their memory.

Here’s why:

Now, I don’t understand any of the language used in this episode, so I’m going off of purely context clues and visuals. Bare with me.

Adrien has his whole: “Hey! My Good Friend Marinette is Ladybug and the other person Ladybug loved was ME all along! Because Ladybug is Marinette!”

“No, no, no, no! Marinette is Marinette! Ladybug is Ladybug!”

To which, Adrien ignores. Being dismissive.

Alright, kind of what we expected.

But as we move further, Bunnix finds Ladybug and is all, “SOMETHING GOT MESSED UP REALLY BAD TODAY. NOW EVERYTHINGS GOING TO DIE.”

She takes Ladybug into her portal and transfers her to a different version of Paris’s future.

When Ladybug enters into this wack future,

Paris is in ruins.

Not a single person in sight. Except, Chat Blanc.

She finds him singing and humming to himself, seemingly happy.

But when Ladybug engages, he is all over the place.

Sad, angry, happy. Signs of MAJOR emotional instability...

At this point, why DOESNT he just kill her? She’s exposed, nothings happening, he has power over her. Yes, he needs her miraculous for Hawkmoth but, he can still get rid of her and take the earrings.

But he doesn’t.

But, this is not where it ends. Right? There’s a future where Ladybug is back?

“Wait! Chat Noir! I’ll surrender my miraculous!”

He seems pleased,

“Thank you, but I think you mean to call me Chat Blanc.”

But...

Ladybug kisses (???) him, showing the first glimpse humanity in Chat Blanc.

Classic Ladybug, rips his bell from his costume and breaks it, releasing the akuma. And I realized,

There’s no struggle in this at all. He doesn’t stop her.

And just like that... our baby boy is back.

He looks so pleased. Almost happy.

Maybe he’s come to terms with this akuma, he realizes that this is what made him Chat Blanc. He’s just standing there in all his destruction and he’s content.

When Bunnix comes back to take Ladybug away, Chat Noir looks grateful that she still accepts him. But you can see that he’s still hesitant, he’s still scared of himself. Of hurting her— KILLING her again.

But Ladybug must go. Leaving him with all he destroyed, all he killed.

Ladybug goes back and fixes it, like she always does. But, she still remembers all that happened with Bunnix. Chat Noir? Won’t.

We end our story...

Of how a boy and a girl,

Fell in love.

And all was saved in the end.

This episode was so emotional, and so different with it’s entire atmosphere and events. Everything felt dead and entirely dreadful.

It was such a strong point in this show and I cannot believe how much development occurs in this one episode. We understand SO much more.

Hello! I hope you dont mind me asking, but how do you draw those amazing black and white comics? (Coffee and The Goddess comics come to mind!) I love the way you do them and would love to know the process you go thru!

this is a pretty broad question and im guessing/hoping you meant “how do you color in black and white in your comics” so have a few random tips about values and paneling and stuff i guess
