Anna / Sometimes I write. Sometimes I gush about love between beautiful souls. Sometimes I'm cynical beyond any measure. I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm just another human.
Why don't you write anymore? I love your writing so FUCKKKINGG much. Please write if you have Time and all. I've read your those two fics for like hubhund times. God bless you â€â€â€
Thank you so much! This really means a lot to me đ I really wish I could write more but life just gets really really busy. But as soon as I get a good idea or image in my head, I will definitely find time, write it and post it here.
I love your fics!! The new one is awesome đđ
Thanks guys đ I will try to write more⊠I usually just need a good realistic image to pop into my head and then I can write a story around it. Thanks for all the love <3
your writing reminds me so much of forevergoingwiththeflow89's, i have to ask, because the style and grammar and word use is nearly identical, is that you and you've started a new blog?
No lol, but I really liked her fics so thanks for the compliment!
*** Iâm really sorry for writing so rarely but life just gets very busy sometimes. Anyways, I had this picture in my mind and I just built a bit of a story around it, nothing special, more like just a moment in their lives. Hope you guys like it. Leave your impressions, questions, any feedback you have and Iâll get back to you...Â
Home
âCall me when you get home,â Taylor heard her friend shouting behind her as she was walking to her car.
âWhat?â
âCall me... or text... yeah, text me when you get home!â
It was spring in New York, and you could practically feel the city buzzing with energy. There was always something about this time of year in New York that Taylor loved. Winter was over, as well as that dreadful cold period just before spring comes along, and itâs back to greenery, warmer weather and that sweetness in the air. She was back in the city for a bit and while New York had its disadvantages there was one thing she could always count on â nights out were always a blast.
It was Marthaâs birthday and Taylor was really excited to see and catch up with some of her friends. Itâs an understatement to say that, just like many other nights she spent out and about in the city, this night certainly did not disappoint. Her date for the night? Todrick. And as the party was winding down, Taylor and Todrick said their goodbyes to the birthday girl and made their way out. Todrick kindly refused to drag her in completely opposite direction when Taylor offered him a drive home, opting to take an Uber to his hotel instead. But not before he played the role of dutiful friend, also reminding her that he might have had one drink too many...
âCall me... or text... yeah, text me when you get home,â was what he repeated, eliciting a confused and questioning look from Taylor and then one of those heartfelt laughs she does when sheâs genuinely amused.
âYou do realize that Iâm being driven home by my bodyguard. Like straight home. In my car. With my bodyguard. To my apartment where another bodyguard will usher me in... you do know that right?â She took a moment between each statement, trying her best and barely succeeding to not burst out laughing. It was not so much what he said, more the way he said it. He definitely had one too many.
He stopped, looked at her for a second before his eyes drifted away focusing on something in the distance, âHmm... well... I guess when you put it that way...â
Taylor glanced for a second at the Uber that was waiting for Todrick before asking her friend again, âare you sure you donât want me to give you a ride home? Really, itâs okay, I donât mind at all.â
âNo, no, no... Iâm fine, go home... I know you canât wait to be back home. Donât worry.â Taylor shot him another questioning look to make sure he meant it and when Todrick winked at her and got into his ride, she followed his suit, her bodyguard closing the door after her.
Todrickâs ride quickly flew by her car, Taylor following it with her eyes until it took a turn and disappeared into the night. She sighed, slightly shook her head and lowered her eyes to the bag on her lap, taking a mental note, âIâll definitely text him later, check if heâs okay...â She rummaged for few seconds through her bag before finding her phone and discarding the bag to the seat next to her. Another loud sigh escaping her lips...
âAre you okay?â she heard familiar voice from the driverâs seat ask upon tuning on the car, his eyes looking at her through the rear-view mirror.
âAll good Jeff. Iâm fine,â she assured her most trusted bodyguard who smiled back at her when he saw a small, content, genuine smile appear on her lips. He raised his eyebrows at her and as he does most of the times asked, âgood to go?â
âStep on it,â Taylor replied with a wink.
And with that, they were on their way home. Taylor brought her attention back to her phone to check for any new messages. She promised herself that she wasn't going to keep staring at her phone throughout the night and she was surprisingly very successful at it. Seeing so many of her friends and other good people, especially after she hadn't for a while, helped a lot. She unlocked her phone, skimmed through the messages and notifications looking for the only sender that would interest her at that moment, but having found none with his name on it, she locked her phone and dropped it into her lap, diverting her attention to the car window and city they were passing through.
âYou had fun tonight?â Jeff asks after few minutes of silence, shaking her up from her thoughts.
âHm? What was that?â
âDid you have fun tonight?â Jeff repeats, carefully dividing his time between looking at the road ahead and glancing back at Taylor.
Taylor shuffles in her seat a bit, clearly thinking about the night, and leaning forward she responds, âyou know what... yeah! Yeah, it was fun.â
âGood. Itâs good to go out from time to time and forget about it all for a bit, you know?â
He can see Taylor nodding her head in agreement in the back. And after thinking about it for few seconds she tells him, âyeah... I donât know why, but itâs weird a little, you know? Like, itâs a different feeling cause Iâm not the only one Iâm thinking about... okay, that sounds bad. I donât just think about myself...â
Before she could finish her sentence and explain, Jeff jumps in, âI know exactly what you mean. It never leaves you mind.â
âExactly!â she says, nodding her head even more vigorously. âItâs just that there are moments where I think Iâm being selfish. I mean, they go away quickly, I know Iâm not, but just for a moment here and there... thereâs that guilt, you know. Itâs just like... I donât know. Do you...â and stopping for few seconds like she is contemplating if that is an appropriate question to ask, she decides itâs okay and proceeds, albeit shyly, â...do you ever feel that way?â
âOf course! More often than Iâd like. Especially when Iâm away for long.â
âYeah, sorry about that,â Taylor scrunches up her nose and eyebrows offering a sincere apology.
Jeff lets out a heartfelt laugh and says, âhey, I gotta make that money somehow, right?â They both chuckle and then Taylorâs bodyguard continues, âwe just have to do our best and you know, what we feel is right. Itâs not like thereâs some manual with instructions, you just gotta learn as you go. And, most importantly,â he says raising his finger in the air to accentuate his point, âyou have to cut yourself some slack. I guess that would be my advice based on my experience. My advice that you never asked for though...â
âI mean, I donât even know why you are talking to me... or who even allowed you to look me in the eye. How dare you?â Taylor tries to mock up her best impression of Hollywood diva voice and attitude before both her and Jeff burst out in laughter.
âIâm really sorry. It wonât happen again ma'am.â Jeff tries to get serious for a second and play the role of an obedient servant but Taylor instantly quips back, âI swear to God, if you ever call me ma'am again...â
"Okay, okay... Got it.â Few seconds pass by and then he adds, âMa'am.â Taylor just smiles and shakes her head at her bodyguard. The truth is Jeff has been working for her for years now, and she looks at him like an older, very protective brother. And thatâs one of the things she learned early on â although he might be an employee, heâs still her work family as she liked to say. And family is to be taken care of, and respected. She also found very early on those relationships are a two-way street, you get as much respect as you give and she prided herself in loyalty her team always had for her. She was obviously doing something right.
Once again, she diverted her attention back to the window and the city outside. It was very late, but then again â New York is a city that never sleeps. Taylor loved watching people on the sidewalks, some of them hurrying on their way home, some of them leaving bars and night clubs, waiting outside with their friends so they can figure out where to go next. New York was truly a living city, always something going on. It was also the epitome of everything her lifestyle has taken away from her. To never be able to truly explore the city like any other person, that was the price of her name. In some way it was awfully ironic â being in such a privileged position to be able to afford anything in one of the most expensive cities in the world and at the same time be in such an underprivileged position and not being able to afford something as simple as walk through the city. But she never let herself dwell in those thoughts too much, something like, âoh câmon, snap yourself out of it!â always did the trick.
As they were getting closer to her block, Taylor asked Jeff to check in with the security at her apartment if there was anyone outside, telling him, â...just so I can mentally prepare if thereâs anyone there.â He quickly made the call informing her, ânope, itâs all quiet. Guess we flew under the radar tonight.â Taylor couldn't help but sigh in relief.
Car stopped in front of the entrance to her apartment building, and seeing another one of her bodyguards waiting at the door to usher her in, she turned to Jeff saying, âyou have a good night Jeff,â before she jumped out of her car and swiftly walked into her building.Â
Wishing another one of her bodyguards, that walked her to the door, a good night, she closed the door behind her and put her bag on one of the cabinets in her hallway. Tightly gripping the edge of the cabinet with one hand and resting her weight on it, she used her other hand to remove the stilettos she was wearing that night. It must have been some time since she was wearing that kinda heel and her feet were feeling it. Standing in the hallway, Taylor breathed a sigh of relief, wiggling her toes after a long night. âSooo good...â she thought as her feet made contact with cold hardwood floor.Â
Grabbing her phone from the bag she made her way towards the only source of light in her apartment â dimmed light coming from a lamp in her spacious living room. But no one was there. She looked around once more just to make sure, and indeed, she was the only one there. After quick trip to the kitchen to grab some water, she turned off all the lights and made her way to the stairs and second floor of her apartment. To her surprise, she could see a very low light coming from the room next to her bedroom. Walking towards the door she wondered, âwhy the hell did he leave the light on,â making a mental note to remind him to be more careful next time, and just as she was about to enter and turn it off, she was cut off by the scene in front of her.
Sitting on a sofa in the corner of the room, deep in their sleep, her two favorite boys. Taylor leaned against the door frame and crossing her arms over her chest she couldn't help but smile the biggest smile.
Joe was sitting shirtless on a sofa in his pajama pants, his long legs spread out on a stool in front of the sofa, and their son sound asleep on Joeâs chest, wrapped in white baby blanket like a little burrito. Taylor couldn't help but stare for a bit, moments like this one reminding her how lucky she was to have the little family that she had.
Taylor quietly walked into the room on her tiptoes and opened her camera app to snap few pictures of the scene in front of her. She then opened one of the messaging apps and opened her conversation with Todrick, attaching one of the pictures she just took with following text...Â
Taylor: ...waiting for me at home đÂ
Taylor:Â btw are you okay? got home safely?
It was just few seconds after her last text that she saw three dots indicating that Todrick was writing back...
Todrick: Iâm home... and Iâll be hanging out with my bff Advil tmrw đ€
Todrick: Also... uhhhhh daddy! đ€€
Taylor: Todrick...
Todrick: can you like take Andy off of him and send me that picture?
Taylor: TODRICK!!!
Taylor: I give up... youâre hopeless...
Todrick: sooo... No?
Taylor: go to sleep, Iâll talk to you tomorrow
Todrick: okay okay
Todrick: kiss the little one for me, tell him uncle Toddy misses him â€ïž
Taylor: will do... love you TÂ đ
She locked her phone and looking at Joe and Andrew in front of her, Taylor contemplated for a moment whether she should wake Joe up. Deciding itâs probably already been a long night for him she thought it was best to make sure everyone goes to their own, comfy beds. She approached them and slowly sitting next to Joe, she gently ran her hand through his hair, just enough to wake him up. He flinched a little but upon realizing who was next to him, gently scratching his scalp and looking at him with the most beautiful smile, he completely relaxed, slouching even more into the sofa.
âHey you,â he whispered, his eyes still heavy with sleep.
âHey you,â Taylor repeated in most gentle way, still playing with his blond locks with her hand.
Seconds pass by, Taylor and Joe still staring at each other with grins on their face, just like when they started dating. He is the first one to cut the silence. âYou have heart-eyes,â he whispers in a very boyish way.
âDo I?â
âMhm... does that mean you havenât found anyone to replace me with at the party?â Joe asks her teasingly.
âI donât know babe,â Taylor takes a deep breath pretending to give his question serious thought, âyet to be decided.â Joe opens his mouth feigning shock before they both quietly chuckle, obviously having missed each other, although they only spent an evening apart.
âHow was the party?â
âGood... I mean, great actually. I feel a bit guilty for saying that. I donât know...â
âWhy babe?â Feeling like she was a bit unsure if she actually wanted to talk about this, he encourages her to continue.
âItâs just...â Taylor looked at him again to make sure itâs okay to talk to him about it and once she got another reassurance, she continued, â...just donât take this the wrong way please, but it felt nice to be away for a night, to relax completely, not worry about whoâs eaten, who hasn't, whoâs taken a bath... And to be able to catch up with friends. And you know that I still sometimes feel guilty about it. You know, itâs like â Iâm a mom now but here we are, itâs 3 am and I just got home. From a party. And I know Iâm being ridiculous, but I guess that mom gene sometimes just kicks in and I canât fight it. Even Jeff told me to cut myself some slack. I donât know...â
Taylor finally looks back at Joe whoâs nodding his head with a closed-lip smile on his face, looking at her in that certain way that she know means only one thing... âIâm over-thinking it, aren't I?â
âJust a tiny, tiny bit,â accompanying his statement with appropriate hand gesture. âBut hey â you havenât called or texted whole night, Iâm proud of you.â
âOh, I was tempted, donât you worry about that,â Taylor laughed at herself but she had to admit that she was slowly coming to terms with the fact that part of parenthood was learning to accept that you have no idea what you are doing most of the times, or feeling like youâre doing it all wrong even when youâre not. âBut really, I had so much fun. Todrick was hilarious, he had one too many...â
âDid he? Iâm shocked.â Joe quipped as Taylor slouched next to him, leaning her head on his shoulder.
âOh yeah... and Ashley was teasing him whole night, cause her friend was asking around about him and apparently they've been texting, or sexting if I may say...â
âOhh... hey, how come we never sexted?â Joe cuts her off, whispering into her ear.
âI mean... we kinda have... I think...â she looks up at him questioningly. But Joe shakes his head, âno no, that doesn't count. We never like full on sexted. Such a missed opportunity if you ask me, with out jobs and distance and everything...â Taylor raises her head at his remark, looks up at him and lightly slaps him on the shoulder, âthatâs because everything can be hacked nowadays,â she says matter-of-factly, ready to tell him for hundredth time all about her fears of leaks and recordings but luckily for Joe, Andrew stirs for a second on his chest and they both freeze and look down on their son. When he continues his slumber, Taylor and Joe exchange looks and Taylor leans her head back on Joeâs shoulder.
âAnyways, as I was saying... it was such a great time. And Marthaâs family was there, and you know how cool and nice they are. Oh, and Jason told me to say hi to you... and Martha says hi too.â
âAww, thatâs nice of them. Thanks babe,â he leans down to plant a kiss on top of her head. âIâm really glad you had a good time. And...â he starts as Andrew wakes up in his arms for real this time, â...youâre glad mom had fun too, aren't you buddy? What did I tell you â happy mom equals happy family...â
Taylor chuckles and rolls her eyes at Joe, gently caressing her sonâs face. Joe feels like this awakening would normally be filled with tears but somehow seeing his mom takes all the fussiness away, Andrewâs eyes now wide open and focused on his mother. And just like his parentsâ, his eyes are the purest shade of blue. They are still not sure who he looks like more, each grandmother claiming he is a spitting image of his parents when they were babies.
âHow was your evening?â Taylor asks Joe, finally managing to draw her eyes away from her son.
âOh, it was nice. We had some snacks, and then dinner, and then we had a bath, few naps in between too... Didn't we?â he lists all the activities while looking down at his son, rocking him gently in his arms. âAnd then we did some guy stuff.â
âSome guy stuff?â
âYeah, guy stuff. Like we watched some TopSpeed. And then we got even more manly and switched to Friends, because you know â thereâs nothing like watching Joey and Chandler excel in all the relationship stuff.â
Taylor couldn't help but smile looking at her boys together. She was still completely smitten each time she watched Joe go into full daddy mode with Andrew. She also knew Joe was probably exhausted.
âAre you tired babe?â she asked, her voice a delicate whisper. Joe looked at her, simply nodding his head.
Taylor stood up and gently took Andrew from his arms, walking back to his crib. And before putting him down into his âbedâ, she showered him with kisses, whispering sweet nothings into his ear. Joe was watching from the sofa, completely mesmerized by the ease with which Taylor could handle their son and put him back to sleep. Soon enough, he was back in his crib and back to sleep.
âYou are an amazing mom.â Joe whispered into her ear, snaking his arms around her waist and hugging her from behind. âDonât you ever let anyone tell you otherwise.â Taylor snuggled in closer, getting lost in kisses he was leaving on her neck and shoulders. âAbsolutely...â he whispered into her right ear, leaving a trail of soft kisses along the back of her neck, and then finishing his thought with a whisper into her other ear, â...amazing.â
Taylor turned so she was facing him, putting her arms around his neck she raised on her tiptoes and joined their lips. There was no urgency or hurry, just the two of them and their moment. They moved their lips together, slowly and passionately, in perfect sync. There was no tongue, no groping, no gasping, no moaning, just their hands around each other, their lips beautifully caressing, their bodies leaving no space between them... It was one of those kisses that made you think about how wonderful it is just to be kissed and to linger in someoneâs embrace without needing to pull away, and how grateful you are to know that feeling of not needing to be anywhere else in the world.
Pulling away from each other, Joe whispered, âyou also look absolutely hot in that dress.â Taylor lowered her head, her cheeks blushing against her will, but Joe was having none of that. Using his hand, he raised her chin up, meeting her eyes once again, âI mean it, you look absolutely stunning. Just... breathtaking.â If she wasn't blushing before, she definitely was now.
Raising on her tiptoes once again she gave his lips and nose a quick peck and taking his hand in hers she said, âletâs go babe. Letâs go catch some sleep before he wakes up again.â
âTen bucks he gives us exactly half an hour before he starts crying again,â Joe chuckled behind her.
Turning off the lights in Andrewâs room and walking with Joe into their bedroom Taylor takes the bet, âyouâre on, ten bucks he gives us more than an hour.â
They walk to the middle of the bedroom, still playfully holding hands before Taylor lets go and walks to her nightstand. She fumbles with the clasp on her necklace, trying to take it off, while Joe looks on with a smirk on his face.
âTen bucks I need five seconds to take that dress off of you.â
Taylor turns her head for a second and gives him the look, the one with her eyebrow raised, one where her eyes are practically telling him âwell aren't you getting bold over there.â Shaking her head she makes the clicking sound with her tongue, that smirk of hers that Joe adores ever-present on her face, she finally manages to take her necklace off and as she does, she walks back to Joe. Running her hands slowly up his chest, she once again gets on her tiptoes, letting out a warm breath next to his ear that gets Joe all hot and bothered, and then whispers ever so sensually...
âTen bucks you pass out the moment you head touches the pillow.â
Joe lets out what seems to him like the whiniest sigh in the history of human race. When he opens his eyes, he can see Taylor lovingly smiling at him, her hands on the back of his neck. And sheâs doing that lower lip biting thing that she always does when she really wants to do or say something but she knows she has to control herself. In his mind, itâs obvious that she wants to rip his clothes off, thereâs no doubt about it but...
âWeâre both exhausted.â She gives his lips a quick kiss. âAnd I gotta go take my make up off,â she says while landing another kiss on his lips. âTomorrow. Weâll have a whole day to ourselves.â They both keep landing kisses on each otherâs lips between each sentence. Joe captures her lips one final time before she gently pushes him away and walks into their ensuite bathroom.
Slumping down into their bed, Joe could feel his eyes losing the battle and slowly closing. âDamn that woman, sheâs always right...â he thinks. He manages to stay awake long enough to see her walk out of the bathroom, his giant t-shirt covering her frame. Turning off all the lights in the room, she snuggles into his side, planting few soft kisses on his chest. Last thing she remembers before falling asleep? Joe whispering âI love youâ into her hair, his arms tightening around her. And just like that, she knew... she was finally home.
hi! just read your story, :) are you new to tumblr? tell us about you, what are your favourite songs on rep, did you go to a show/planning to, is this the first story you have written?
Ha, thatâs a lot of questions :) okay, Iâm not new here, but I donât blog really, just follow some people so I can find interesting Taylor stuff. Iâm studying in UK, although Iâm not from UK (letâs keep it at that) and I did go to Dublin to see her live. Which was amazing! Sheâs a great performer, I went with three friends and one of them doesnât really know much about her, like literally her knowledge spans from IKYWT to Shake It Off, Blank Space and Bad Blood, but after the concert she was like âwow, you guy are gonna get me hooked on herâ which was hilarious.
I still canât really pick my favorite, depends on the day I guess. Sometimes itâs Donât Blame Me, sometimes itâs Getaway Car and sometimes I canât get over Ready For It even though I know thatâs not a fan favorite (right?). Anyways, I do write sometimes, I just donât post stuff, which is gonna change a bit now. Whenever I have something interesting Iâll definitely share.
Your story is sooo sooo good! Thanks for writing. I remember a bit of an old greys anatomy episode with the "last kiss" convo! Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
Oh, was there? I watched Greyâs Anatomy back in the day but I canât remember... But thanks so much, it means a lot that people liked it. Really, thank you.
Can you write more about Taylor being/getting along with joeâs family and vice versa
Yeah, Iâll write it in whenever it feels organic to the story, Itâs actually fun thing to write about. Sometimes the things that we know barely nothing about can be most convenient for writing about, exactly because we donât know much about them. Iâll definitely try and explore those relationships more.
Thanks to everyone who messaged me, you guys are so kind. Iâll continue writing so I guess⊠you;ll be seeing me around? Also, Iâm always up for a chat, if you wanna talk Taylor, or her and Joe or you need an advice about something (I love giving advice), just send me a message ;)
that last fanfic was SO GOOD and so realistic!!!! pls keep going!
You think? Okay I guess. Iâve been writing here and there about Taylor lately I just never did it with the intention of posting, but Iâll definitely keep going now. Thanks for liking it!
*** Hey guys, this is my first Taylor and Joe story here. I donât think I need to give you any premise or anything really, itâs all in the story and itâs very clear when and where it takes place. I donât know how often Iâll be writing but Iâll be around here for your questions and feedback. Or if you wanna talk Taylor and Joe, Iâm down for that too. Anyways, I hope youâll enjoy it!
p.s. This has smut, so all of you not into it, maybe skip the first half ;)
Perfect Sunday
As he slowly turns on his back, he slightly stretches his body and he can feel his brain waking up like an old rusty machine thatâs been put to use after long slumber. Using his left hand, he rubs his eyes in childlike fashion and groans quietly while trying to adjust to rays of sun coming through the window.
âWhat time is it,â he wonders as he turns his head little bit more to his left and sloppily picks up his phone only to find out itâs barely 9 am. Putting his phone back on the nightstand, he runs his hand through his hair, in a complete mess as it usually is in the morning, and looks to the woman that has successfully trapped his right arm underneath her.Â
Sheâs sound asleep. âNo wonder,â he thinks to himself. Smile almost instinctively creeps onto his face when he looks over her frame. Most peaceful smile there is. Smile that screams, âthereâs no place Iâd rather be right now.â
Taylor had just played her second Wembley show last night. Emotions were running high, people were, as it usually happens, waiting for hours backstage to meet her, both before and after the show. And she had given them all time out of her day. Itâs one of her gifts. When she talks to you she makes you feel like you matter, like itâs not just another chat sheâs having, with just another person attending her show. Joe knows that all too well. He knows how her eyes tend to pierce into your soul when you are talking to her, taking in every word she hears, and if you pay attention you can almost hear her brain processing and feeling the words that are being spoken to her.
Unfortunately, that usually takes its toll. Nothing too bad, just draining a lot of energy out of her. They came home last night, clock already ticking off few hours of new day and they went straight to bed. She was absolutely exhausted. Not that he blames her one bit... She just played her last show in Europe and she was absolutely amazing. Crowds and stadiums change but one thing doesn't - she always has every single soul in the stadium wrapped around her little finger.Â
And he is so proud of her. And he canât get enough. âI could watch her do this millions of times,â he caught himself thinking last night as she was flying over the crowd. But just as much as he adores superstar Taylor, he also adores the girl thatâs lying next to him on this Sunday morning. Peaceful, calm, no make up, no stage lights on her... Just his girl, Taylor. He can hear her breathing, occasional sigh... yeah, sheâs definitely asleep.
He goes back to his initial position, on his side, just behind her, slowly draping his left arm over her waist. His head just behind hers on the pillow, he can smell the familiar mixture of her shampoo and perfume, mixed with hints of his own perfume that still lingers on his t-shirt that she put on before bed last night.
He contemplates letting her sleep for a while longer and not risking waking her up, but he quickly succumbs to temptation and lets his lips gently graze the side of her neck. âJust few little kisses,â he tells himself, secretly hoping she does in fact wake up so he can continue trailing his kissed down her body.
And she feels it. She loves when he is the first thing she feels in the morning. Feeling of his soft lips and warm breath on her skin mixed with ticklish feeling his scruff is creating. She loves it. Slight smile appears on her face and Joe could swear he hears the softest of moans escape her lips. He doesn't stop, trailing his lips from the soft spot just below her ear to her half exposed shoulder, his hand firmly squeezing her hip. She finally turns her head towards him and their lips meet for the first time that morning. Gentle, lazy kiss, her left hand lightly scratching the back of his head.
âGood morning gorgeous,â he whispers into her ear. She giggles, as she always does when he calls her that. Sometimes they both think they've been overusing that word to the extent that neither of them takes it seriously anymore, but she knows he means it, especially when itâs just the two of them.
She looks around sleepily, her voice still very much coated with morning hoarseness, âwhat time is it babe?â
âItâs still early... 9 ish. We've got time,â he mumbles as he buries his face back into the crook of her neck, his lips and tongue exploring her skin. He continues down her shoulder, arm and then bringing his lips back to her neck all over again, all the while holding her tight, listening to the soft little sighs and moans that sheâs making.
Taylor slowly rolls over and looks at Joe, sleep still written all over her face and simply says, âwell, thatâs a nice way to start the day.â She melts into his arms and presses her lips against his. This time Joe kisses her back much more passionately, his tongue slowly working its way over Taylorâs lips, from one side to another. He then slows down and pulls back a little, just enough to give her nose a gentle, soft kiss, eliciting one of those heartfelt giggles heâs so crazy about. He then kisses her cheek, caressing it with his fingertips and runs his fingers through her hair. His arm travels from her shoulders and down her back and then to her sides, down over her thighs... Maybe he pauses just a tiny bit longer over her ass, feeling her rock her hips into him. He just wants to feel her. All of her.
They break the kiss and look into each others eyes and they can both tell what is on their minds. He leans back towards her and starts kissing her again, this time his hand travels under her shirt, feeling her warm and soft skin. Taylor reciprocates, tugging at his shirt and soon enough both of their shirts are long gone. Joeâs leg slowly makes its way between her legs, he grabs her thigh and pulls it up towards him so itâs draped over him. Her breasts are now completely exposed and he wastes no time, eagerly leaning down to kiss them. Joe slowly rolls them over so Taylor is on her back, one of his legs between hers, he can feel her thigh between his legs and heâs sure she can feel how hard he is. Taylor runs her fingers over his chest and back, and he can feel himself getting even more turned on with each and every touch she provides.Â
They look back at each other and smile, no word necessary to express how much they want and need this.Their hands now traveling down, helping each other get rid of their underwear. Her hand is soon on the head of his cock, pumping him slowly, as he moans into her mouth, stealing sloppy kisses while they both try to work each other. While his hand is caressing her center, he looks back at Taylor and he can see the desire and lust in her eyes. Itâs one of his favorite things in the world, to watch her while he touches her in all the right places. Her whole body shivers when his fingertips run over her clit, her hips somewhat involuntarily thrust forward into Joeâs hand and soon enough his long fingers find their way insider her. They keep looking into each others eyes as they touch the most intimate parts of their bodies.
For a second there it looks like Taylor is trying to mouth something to him, but unable to concentrate long enough to do so, she simply brings her lips back to Joe, his tongue exploring her mouth and dancing with her own in a slow, passionate dance. And all he can think about is how good she feels. Their hands slowly traveling up their backs and chests, they continue kissing, completely lost in each other until Taylor finally stops, her eyes firmly on his, her hand giving him one last pump before she rolls over to her back, pulling him completely over her. She instinctively spreads her legs and guides his length to her center, managing to give him her sweetest smile that just as quickly turns into one of her most devilish ones. For that one moment, Joe keeps his eyes on her face and all that he can remember going through his head is one thought, âGod, this woman...â
He slowly presses into her as she opens her legs even wider to accept him and softly moans, the sound of it like music to Joeâs ears. Her hand travel down his back, pulling him further into her as they slowly find their rhythm. Soon enough, Joeâs head drops down to her neck, tasting every inch of her and one of her hands goes back into his hair, lightly scratching his scalp and guiding his lips over her body, arching her back as soon as his mouth finds her nipples. And as his thrusts get faster, their bedroom is filled with both her moans and his grunts, both of them completely lost in one another. When he slowly rises himself a little bit above her, she can see him move one of his hands between them, down her stomach and to her entrance. Taylor feels him start to work her clit and less than minute later she completely loses it, tightness inside her stomach building and exploding in glorious high, sending her whole body into blissful oblivion. Her legs shake, her whole body is shaking and Joe stops to enjoy the sight for few seconds. When she finally opens her eyes, she can see him proudly smiling at her. He leans down and gives her one soft kiss before whispering into her ear, âIâm so close too baby.â His thrusts resume, Taylorâs hands all over him, helping him get to his own pleasure, and soon enough she can feel him losing all control, his final thrusts fast and deep, eliciting loud grunts from him. Orgasm soars through his body, finally releasing himself into her.
Both of them desperately trying to catch their breath, they look at each other, goofiest of smiles spreading across their faces. And thatâs what she adores about him. Heâs always so in the moment with her, wanting to have fun and just make her happy, make her laugh, make sure that smile never disappears from her face. She bites on her lower lip and puts one of her hands on his neck, the other on his cheek as she pulls him towards her for a slow, passionate kiss. Joe slowly lets himself collapse on top of her, managing to plant the softest of kisses on her cheek and then her collarbone. He rolls them back to their sides, both of them looking into each others eyes, his arms tightly wrapped around her. The most comfortable silence settles between them, both Taylor and Joe reveling in this intimate moment.
And then smiles starts spreading further onto both their faces and almost at the same time, with Taylor starting just a second or two before him, they finally speak again...
âDonât you dare...â Taylor starts but Joe has already started vocalizing his thoughts.Â
âI am so in love with you,â he cuts her off, looking into her eyes, smile wide on his face.
She closes her eyes, pretend sighs in disapproval and says, âthat is the cheesiest thing you could've said.â
Joe just slightly nods his head and shrugs his shoulders, laughing at her remark. He does it on purpose, and she knows it. And he knows she loves it, she loves hearing him say that sentence out loud, no matter how much she likes to act cool and unbothered. She actually is everything but cool and unbothered. And giggle that comes out of her while heâs looking at her mesmerized just further proves that.
âAnything else you care to share?â she asks while drawing imaginary shapes with her hand on his chest.
âNope.â He cocks his eyebrow, his accent thick, smile never disappearing from his face, his hands in her hair, âIâm a man of few words...â
Taylor just hums in approval, the slyest of smiles on her face.
â...but when I do speak, I really mean it. Like, really, really mean it.â He drags out each of those âreallyâ for dramatic effect.
âYeah, I remember you being very wordy back in the day. So chatty, so many stories to tell.âÂ
Her hand now placed over the stubble on his cheek while his free hand, thatâs not underneath her, gently caresses her bare chest as he looks at the way her breasts and her skin react to his touch.
âMan's gotta do what a man's gotta do, you know...â and she can feel his baby blues piercing into her own. She swears just their eye contact could power electricity for a small town. Neither of them able to look away.
She pulls him in for another kiss, her long lashes coming together as she closes her eyes when their lips finally meet. And just for a brief moment, she parts her lips granting him access and their tongues intertwine in a slow dance, completely lost in the taste of each other. And then back again to just the delicate brushing of their lips.
Joe loves this thing she does, heâs loved it from the very first moment. The way she changes the pace and keep him on his toes. Heâs had time to think about it a lot and came to the conclusion thatâs one of the reasons he canât get enough of her. Sheâs always changing things up, she never settles, bringing excitement to each and every moment is her thing. Itâs like everything is new and never done before with her.
â...okay, what else?â Joe asks, nudging her leg with his own as they are sitting on the cushioned window seats in her rented London house.
They've been dating for few months now and at this point they both are very well aware this thing between them is not a joke, itâs not a fling, not an attempt by either of them to pass time and just have fun. It might have taken some time for both of them to come clean about those feelings, but they have been quietly aware of them since the very beginning.
Hot coffee in their hands, hoodies and sweats keeping them warm during this cold winter day in London, their conversation has led them into fundamentals of relationships. And then general conversation led them to one very specific relationship - their own. Sure, they already had few serious conversations like âI want this or that out of the relationshipâ but this was more of a carefree one, discussing small but important things that make each relationship special. Like Taylor telling him she wants him to remember to buy her favorite fruit once its season starts. Or Joe telling her heâd really appreciate it if she tried to be excited when his favorite team wins. âLike, I donât expect you to really, actually care... But you know, just pretend. Or, or, even better - maybe you try to console me when they lose,â he said to her with a glint in his eye and a mischievous smile on his lips.Â
Things like that. They went back and forth, listing some reasonable and some of the most ridiculous things. And they laughed together, Taylor could swear her face muscles started to hurt from all the laughing. But when first lull in conversation happened, and Joe nudged her for more, she looked up at him, look on her face getting a bit more serious. She was looking at him for 10 or maybe even 20 seconds, her expression making it clear to him that she was contemplating whether she should say what was on her mind.
Joe tilts his head a little bit to the side, the warmest and most loving look on his face and he does this little move with his head that canât really be described, but she knows he is encouraging her to tell him whatâs on her mind. No matter what it is, he wants to know, his whole body language serving as a reminder that she can tell him anything.
She slightly lowers her head and looks at the cup of coffee in her hand. âKissing,â she says just above a whisper. Joeâs eyes narrow a bit and he looks at her a little bit confused before she goes on...
â...we promise each other that weâll never stop kissing.â Her eyes back on his and he can see this matters to her, more than things they discussed before.
âOkay...â Joe still uncertain of what she meant exactly with that. They are now intently looking at each other and after few seconds Joe continues, â...I mean, thatâs what most of couples do babe.â
âI know, but I donât mean it like that... I mean, I do, but thatâs not what I meant...â Taylor shuffles a little bit in her seat, having trouble explaining exactly what she meant. But she knows heâll listen and wait for her to phrase it just right, she knows because that loving look on his face is still very much present in that moment.
She sighs a little bit in frustration, cause words are supposed to be her specialty, before she tries to explain.
âLike, so many couples, everywhere, they just... they take things for granted. Everyone does it all the time. Itâs just a fact. People take things for granted. God, I've taken things and even worse, people for granted. And itâs just...â Taylor pauses, shaking her head she lets out a deep breath, â...we just get complacent with things. Things and people that are supposed to be most sacred to us.â
For a moment they just stare at each other. His face now serious, taking in each and every word she says and he waits. She has more to tell...
âYou know how when you're with somebody for a long time you start to forget how special certain things are? You know what I am talking about, right?â Joe nods his head in approval. âYeah... I don't want that. Not again. I've been through that and I know I don't have much of a long relationship experience but I know that's not how it's supposed to go. And I'm not looking for fairy-tales, I've stopped believing in them long ago but some things... I just think some things are still worth the fight and little extra effort.â
Taylor sees Joe nod his head once again and before he could say anything she closes her eyes and smiles widely, âIâm confusing you, huh?â
âNo, I get what youâre saying and I completely agree itâs just... Iâm just trying to connect all the dots...â
â...with my initial point?â Taylor finishes the sentence for him and they both chuckle. âMy point was, I donât want us to ever be one of those couples that kiss out of habit. I probably could have started with that huh?â Taylor lets out a sigh and then continues, âI was just thinking about it, how we always remember our last kiss with someone we loved. Itâs because we pay attention, because we know itâs the last one and we wanna feel all of it for that last time. But thatâs just wrong you know? If you think about it, our lips are the way we communicate everything, our thoughts, feelings... and when you kiss someone thatâs the most intimate way of communication. So when I say I never want us to stop kissing, what I mean is that I never wanna do it just cause. What I mean is, I don't ever wanna kiss you just out of habit.â
The moment she finished her little speech, she starts to question whether it was really necessary. They were just having fun after all, and she had to run her mouth. Sometimes the hardest thing for Taylor seems to be to control the thoughts in her head. Luckily for her, Joe is quick to respond...
âI don't ever wanna kiss you out of habit either.â
And itâs not just that he said it, itâs the way he said it. So confident and unwavering. Look in his eyes telling her he means every single word. And butterflies in her stomach telling her she is falling even deeper for him with each day they spend together.
âTaylor, I donât think anyone wants to lose that magic, but shit happens. You said it yourself, people get complacent. I canât lie to you and promise itâs not gonna happen to us at some point in future. You donât want fairy-tales, right?â
Taylor shakes her head and whispers, âNo.âÂ
âWhat I can promise you, and youâll have to meet me halfway here and promise back, is that we will remind ourselves to appreciate our moments together whenever we feel like one of us is forgetting to do so. Hm? Howâs that?â
âThat sounds... very realistic. Grown up too. I like it.â Smile on her face is telling him that he might just have said the perfect thing.
âWell, Iâm good with words like that...â he says in a cocky tone, turning his head to look out the window like an old Greek philosopher that has just discovered the meaning of life. Taylor just rolls her eyes, mouths a quiet âOh God...â and uses one of her legs, that are tangled up with his on a cushioned window seat, to nudge him playfully.
He looks back at her, mischief written all over his face and continues in his cocky tone thatâs coated in British accent, âI mean, I was kinda already planning to save my,â he snaps his fingers couple of times, pretending heâs trying hard to remember something that just escaped his mind, âhow did you call it - kissing out of habit? I was planning to save it for movie sets.â
âYou better,â she shoots back immediately, her bossy tone that Joe finds absolutely adorable coming to life.
Joe then takes her hand in his and gently rubbing the back of it with his thumb, he asks, âso do you?â
âDo I what?â
âDo you promise to meet me halfway? Weâll work at this, together? You and me.â
Her kisses still feel the same... And Joe still remembers that day because as much as it meant to Taylor to talk about it and just get it out, it meant maybe even more to him to know how much she cared and wanted to do this thing with him right. It meant the world to him back then. Means the world to him now.
âHey... what you thinking about Alwyn?âÂ
Taylorâs voice brings him back to reality, to this moment. âNothing. Just... enjoying my view.â
He winks at her, his hand still gently caressing her body and combination of the two makes Taylor close her eyes and sigh in pure bliss. Silence settles between them for a minute before she hears Joe speak.
âTired?â
âWell... I am now,â she says referring to their romp in bed.
They both cackle at her remark and then Joe moves above her, supporting himself on his elbows. He gives her nose a gentle peck while Taylor puts her arms around his neck.
âItâs Sunday,â he says.
âI know.â
âWe really donât have to go...â
âNo, no, I wanna go. And you wanna watch the game and trust me, if we stay here, youâll have to watch it with me and me only. Is that something you really want?â
âI feel like that is a trick question.â
As they both giggle, Taylor playfully slaps his shoulder before she continues, â...you get to watch it with your family. And I get to keep your mom from going insane from all the testosterone. Everyone wins. Plus, I donât see Tom often. And I really wanna, you know, do some âbondingâ with him.â
âWanna conquer all the Alwyns?â Quick kiss to her lips following his questions.
âAll of them. All mine.â
And itâs exactly this kind of banter that he has with her that keeps him completely head over heels for Taylor. The balance she manages to have between being completely childish, the most powerful boss woman in the world and being the most gentle, delicate woman heâs ever met - it never seizes to amaze him.
Joe nods his head in understanding, âI canât say I blame you. Weâre amazing.âÂ
âYou are amazing.â Short and to the point. She feels like she wants to remind him of that every day. Sometimes it is best to just say what you feel, bluntly and straight to the point. And she does just that. Looking into his eyes, she whispers, âI love you. So much.â And he leans down to capture her lips in his. He whispers it back, almost not even parting their lips, âlove you too babe.â And then more kisses follow.
Before they get lost in each other again, he pulls away, hating himself for doing so, but they have to be at his familyâs home in few hours.
âHow about you go and take a shower and Iâll go and make us something to eat, hm?â
Taylor just nods her head and watches him as he grabs briefs and sweatpants and goes into master bathroom, coming out two minutes later with both clothing items now on him. He stops at the door frame and looks back at her, âIâm serious, go!â pointing his head in direction of the bathroom, he canât help but laugh at her sprawled across the bed. She hasn't moved an inch since he left bed.Â
âI swear to God, if I come back in few minutes and find you sleeping... We gotta get ready baby. Câmon... Thereâll be coffee waiting for you in the kitchen when youâre done in the shower. How about that?â
Taylor lets out a long dramatic breath and slowly rolls to the edge of the bed. Joe knows she is exhausted and that she probably needed a few more hours of sleep so itâs no surprise that look on his face is full of sympathy. She gets up and starts walking towards the bathroom, Joe not missing the chance to look over her beautiful frame as she moves.
When she notices his eyes on her, Taylor smiles at him and starts saying, âBaby...â dragging each letter of the word and Joe half expects her to say something sweet to him and half expects her to... âbreakfast ain't gonna make itself,â say something just like that. âSass is out,â he thinks to himself. Walking backwards through the door, he laughs with his hands up in the air in surrender and concedes, âokay, okay. Iâm going now.â
Young couple moves, almost in sync, from their car to the door of the classic British brick house. Joeâs arm is safely wrapped around her shoulder, and Taylor quickly puts her phone back in her purse, barely audibly mouthing, âokay, weâre not late.â
They ring the bell and soon enough they are greeted with a smile from Joeâs father.
âOh good, you've made it. I was getting a little bit worried for a second there... Trafficâs a nightmare huh?â He gives them both a hug and ushers them in.
âActually, not really dad... Which is kinda weird. I guess everyoneâs already in front of their tellies. I expected much worse traffic to be honest.â
Suddenly they can hear a familiar voice shouting from the kitchen and then getting louder as it comes closer to them. Voice belonging to no one else but Joeâs mom who greets them.Â
âYouâre here! What is that? Taylor, honey, you shouldn't have...â Elizabeth points to the basket in Taylorâs hand and gives her the look. You know the one, when moms or anyone from your family is so happy to see you and they hate the thought of putting you through trouble of buying them any gifts. That look.
âOh, no, itâs okay. I actually,â Taylor pauses and laughs for a second, âactually this is from last night. One of the record labels I work with sent these giant baskets to my dressing room, you know - as a good luck, so I thought Iâd bring you one.â Taylor looks down at the basket in her hand, âthis one is with chocolate goodies. No one can say no to chocolate, right?â
âGod, thank you... youâre gonna spoil us honey. Youâre gonna go back to America and then I have to deal with Patrick here...â Elizabeth says quickly on her heels as she goes back to kitchen to put the basket away.
Taylor, Joe and Richard can see Patrickâs head appear from the back of the sofa, âHey, I heard that!â
And this is the kind of thing that Taylor appreciates so much - family gatherings and smiles all around. Joeâs family has been nothing but welcoming since day one. It has made her life in London not just bearable, but something she looks forward to whenever her schedule allows it. Itâs her second home.
Finally, the last member of Alwyn family enters the room with a loud, âhey you two!â He gives Taylor an almost brotherly hug, while him and Joe exchange their usual greeting consisting of stern voiced âBrotherâ followed by, what it seems to Taylor as very aggressive pats on the back.
She once asked him about it, where does it come from and Joe explained to her that, as it usually happens with brothers, him and Tom loved to annoy Patrick. When Taylor rolled her eyes at that remark, Joe found a perfect excuse for it in the fact that Patrick was a lot younger, âyou donât know how annoying he was sometimes. Plus, itâs all part of growing up, the school of life and all...â So Tom and him always greeted each other this way, âit seemed so manly and grown up,â but never did so with Patrick, telling him he can join in when heâs older. And so it stuck. âYou guys are so cruel,â is what she told him back then, but deep down she was enjoying every single second of these stories because they very much were the stories of normal childhood. She always loved that about Joe and that normalcy he was bringing into her life was priceless.
âThat show last night - amazing! I was gonna tell you last night after the show but I just didn't want to bother you too much, I know you get pulled into hundred directions, I didn't wanna be the hundred and first. But just so you know,â and Tom makes this gesture with his hands mimicking the expression âmind-blownâ.
This means so much to Taylor. The fact that he would use his Saturday night to come and watch her show and be so supportive warms her heart. And gesticulating just that, with her hands on her heart she thanks him from the bottom of her heart.
He finds her reaction hilarious, âare you fucking kidding me? I mean, there are worse ways to spend your Saturday evening than at the biggest show in town... at freaking Wembley! Iâm telling you, you are selling yourself short, that was absolutely amazing. Like, I wouldn't lie to you, I promise, if it was any different Iâd tell you but last nightâs show was mind blowing. Oh, and Robbie Williams... that hit me hard.â
âGood, I was hoping it would. That was the goal...â
And just as she was about to explain to him how it all came about, Patrick comes from the kitchen, drink in his hand and stops right by them, âyou guys know I love you both, right? Good. But game is about to start, so you know...â and he does a perfect replica of Ross from Friends trying to get Joey to quiet down.
Taylor and Tom exchange the look between them, trying so hard not to burst into laughter. Joe on the other hand doesn't even bother. Watching the scene from one of the couches in the living room he manages to say through his laughter, âYeah, tell them Pat!â After all, England is playing. In the World Cup. On Sunday. Itâs safe to say the whole country is watching.
âI guess Iâm gonna go and join them,â Tom winks at Taylor who nods with understanding.Â
âYeah, I think Iâm gonna go and see if your mom needs help.â As she starts walking towards the kitchen, she throws one more look at Alwyn men all seated in front of the TV, anxious to see the match start. And she would think âI could get used to this,â but the truth is... She already did.
Taylor slowly makes her way into the kitchen. âCare for some company? Or help?â
âNo honey, I've already got everything sorted out,â and as Elizabeth says this they can both hear and see Joe and Tom yelling at Patrick to stand up and sing the anthem and Patrick throwing pillow at his brothers in frustration. Taylor and Elizabeth exchange looks. The looks. The ones women exchange when they get front row seats to men acting like children. âI would love some company though,â Elizabeth finishes her sentence with an almost begging look on her face.
âIt must be nice to have them all here though,â Taylor says, turning her back to living room and taking a seat at the kitchen isle.
âOh I love having them all here, but I find itâs best to stay away during games like this one. They can get pretty heated. I told you this already, but you being here... itâs always like a breath of fresh air. But enough about them. Why didn't your parents come? I would have loved to have them here too...â
âThey flew out this morning. Even I didn't get to see them today, last night they were just like âoh, weâre leaving in the morningâ. But Iâm glad you guys got some quality time this week... It is important to me. And Joe too.â
Having been looking at the vegetables she was chopping up for a salad, Elizabeth stops for a second and raises her look to Taylor. She is still sometimes stunned by his sonâs girlfriend. Last night she was holding sixty thousand people in the palm of her hand, sporting shiniest costumes and readily welcomed countless camera lenses on her every single second of that show, and today... today she is sitting at her kitchen counter, in simple denim shorts and a white button-up shirt, her sleeves rolled up, allowing her to prop herself up on her elbows at the kitchen isle, barely any make up on her face, talking about how much it means to her that her boyfriendâs family and her own are getting along.
But Elizabeth doesn't say anything, she just smiles at her and does a barely visible head shake, not the disapproving one - exactly the opposite actually, so barely noticeable that if you blink youâd probably miss it, and then looks back at food she was chopping up. âDid you mom tell you about the vineyard that we went to?â
âYes, she mentioned it... where did you go again?â
âItâs this wine estate, just a two hour drive south of London... East Sussex? I think you and Joe passed through it on one of your road trips last year, I donât know how much you remember...âÂ
âYeah, yeah, itâs not far away from coast right? If I remember correctly thereâs a lot of golf courses there. And, well now that you've mentioned it, lots of vineyards too,â with a little reminder from Elizabeth, Taylor can clearly picture estates that they passed by while they were driving.
âExactly...â and before she could continue, there are loud cheers and both Elizabeth and Taylor look back to the living room where Alwyn men are celebrating a goal by England, â...well that will keep them happy for awhile. Anyways, as I was saying, thatâs exactly where we went. Ummm, oh my God, wait... itâs on the tip of my tongue... Ridgeview! Yes, itâs called Ridgeview estate. Itâs so beautiful, and wine and food were fabulous. But you know whatâs the best part?â
Taylor is grinning throughout Elizabethâs whole story cause she can relate. Great wine, food and peaceful setting - sheâd be lying if she said she wanât already contemplating taking the same trip with Joe.
âWhat?â
âThere are all these benches along the way, you know as you go on a tour, there are benches on the side of the path and let me tell you - Richard and your dad might have not appreciated it that much, but Andrea and I... oh my God, wine and then walking donât go well for women in our age.â
Taylor bursts out laughing and Elizabeth follows suit. âThat was the best part?â she manages to ask through her laugh.
âObviously the wine was great too and we tried a lot of different ones. Which is why we needed the benches...â
âOh my God, thatâs funny, I wish I could've been there too. Wait... so how did you guys drive back?â
âThankfully, Richard and Scott weren't as much into the wine tasting. I think they were more into cheese plates. Thinking about it now, your mom and I probably should have eaten more food,â laughing between two women still not stopping, âitâs not like we were that buzzed, but you know, we were... letâs say - happy.â
âVery giggly I bet?â
âYou could say that.â Thereâs a few moments of silence while two women are catching their breaths after a good laugh before Elizabeth asks, âspeaking of trips, I hear two of you are planning a little getaway?â
âOh... yeah, we will go after my next show. Well I was thinking, cause itâs gonna be 4th of July that week, and you know how big that is in USA... but itâs kinda pointless to go to Rhode Island because we wonât be able to do anything. Like, I fully expect drones over my house 24/7...â
âHow fun,â Elizabeth interjects with her most sarcastic remark today.
âSoooo fun, you know how much I love it,â she makes a dramatic pause to roll her eyes, sarcasm seeping from her facial expression, âso we thought, why not get away somewhere for few days? And I've been to this place with my family, itâs literally heaven on Earth, so you know... weâre gonna go and catch some sun.â
âHa, so I should be expecting my son to return red as a tomato then, huh?â
âWe probably both will. Iâll take care of him though, donât worry,â Taylor playfully winks at her boyfriendâs mom.
âOh, Iâm sure you will,â Elizabeth smirks knowingly at Taylor and probably for the first time that day Taylor can feel herself blush a little. It doesn't go unnoticed by Elizabeth, so she skilfully changes the topic to something else and once again, they are completely lost in their conversation. At some point Elizabeth looks around and announces, âokay, I think Iâm done here. Itâs all ready.â And then she looks at the men in front of the TV and then at the clock, realizing sheâs been chatting with Taylor for more than half an hour.Â
âAlthough, I think thereâs at least 10 more minutes till halftime. Wanna go and join them? We can ask annoying questions and watch them roll their eyes at us?â
âThat actually sounds perfect,â Taylor says grabbing her glass of wine that Elizabeth and her have opened right around the time vineyard story came up.
They both walk over to the living room and as Joe spots her from the corner of his eye, he moves his arm to rest on the back of the couch, leaving room for Taylor to snuggle up to his side. Which she does. Her head on his shoulder, glass of wine in one of her hands, her other hand gently resting on her boyfriendâs thigh. Joe wraps his arm around her shoulder and almost instinctively leans his head down a bit to kiss the top of her head.
She canât say sheâs looking at the game much. More soaking up the atmosphere in the room. Brothers teasing each other, their father occasionally reminding them to talk less and pay attention to the game more and Elizabeth who asks her oldest son about that new technology thatâs used in the games. And Taylor? She canât wipe that smile off her face. And just like Joe thought to himself that morning, looking at people around her she thinks, âthereâs no place Iâd rather be right now.â
