I was watching Shrinking (the appletv show) and just had to turn it off. I loved the frost 2 seasons of the show, and was liking the third, but I am sick of the troupe of gay men being absolutely disgusted by women’s bodies (apart from boobs). In the show a gay couple are having a baby through a surrogate and one of them will not stop being disgusted by the thought of vaginas and childbirth. He’s even calling his friend at the hospital when the surrogate is in labor complaining that her feet are out while she trying to birth a child!!!!! Then he makes multiple comments about how the room smells like vagina???? The whole thing feels so icky and dehumanizing, like he sees this woman as an incubator and nothing else and is repulsed by anatomy just because he isn’t physically attracted to it.

This is not something that is specific to this show, it seems pretty common online and and in media and I hate it!!!!

I noticed on my 85th rewatch of Heated Rivalry, When Ilya pulls Shane up after he gives him a blowjob on the bed, Shane is fucking out of it. He is literally like nuzzling into Ilya and chasing touch, and as Ilya is finishing himself off he gives Shane that touch and comfort he is craving!!

One thing I love that they did in heated rivalry is having Ilya and Svetlana always speak in Russian to each other! They both speak English, but of course speak their native language together, it would have been so easy for the show to just have them only speak Russian when in Russia but they went all the way it made it feel so much more authentic and real
