im relistening to taz balance and this might be old news but i haven't seen this brought up before

in the cave where they find the umbrastaff, clint is trying out character voices and does one as he says he's going to check out the staff, to which justin replies (as taako) "no, that won't do"

and then when lup is freed at the very end of the campaign, griffin narrates her thinking "no, that won't do" wrt merle getting the umbrastaff

i have no idea if this was intentional on griffin's part, but in either case, its such a wild bit of narrative through-line. each twin using the exact same phrase ("no, that won't do") at almost the same time about the same character

the original description of the ScuttleBuddy™️ from episode 8 is that it "will talk to you, but won't have anything interesting to say beyond it's primary functions". so then when merle first deploys it and it immediately buzzes "I love you" to him, that means that expressing affection *is* one of ScuttleBuddy™️'s primary functions. in case you didn't know.

I forgot how much Griffin telegraphs the big twist in Balance. He straight up says "oh yeah you could hide stuff from people who've been inoculated if there was a second voidfish" at one point. Lukas brings it up when he's arguing with Yohan about the voidfish too. Plus anyone knowledgeable enough about music could figure out EGG BABE and we first hear that pretty early on. I've never really interacted with the TAZ fandom and I listened long after Balance ended but I imagine there must have been a good amount of people who figured out there was a second voidfish way before the reveal. I kinda love that honestly, I enjoy a figure out-able twist. Not that I ever figure them out but I love going back and being like oh yeah this was so obvious in retrospect.
