Donna Troy and Spring
What’s it like being with Donna Troy in the spring? Requested by @sheimagineddragons​
Firstly, spring is seen as the time of new beginnings and new birth
thus, expect Donna to adopt at least one nest of baby birds in the city
she will go out of her way to watch out for them by shooing away possible predators and other humans, and protect them as much as she can
she will also watch the baby birds grow up with a sense of pride, and will probably cry when they first learn to fly
during this time, you will have to make sure to remind her to drink water and eat because she is likely to forget about her own needs
that being said, when the baby birds do move out of the nest, Donna will take your hand, watch the birds with tearful eyes, and tell you she’ll never love another family of birds as much as she loves this one (this will be the same speech about different birds every year, mind you)
just pat her head, kiss her forehead, and tell her you know. she’ll be very grateful for any comfort you can provide her
When spring arrives, so does rain
on rainy mornings, Donna will sit by the window and take pictures of the outside world through the window and tell you how amazing it is to see the world through a clouded perspective
the two of you will sit and talk about the plants you hope will grow, drink tea, and read for a bit
when the rain isn’t that heavy, just a light mist or drizzle, the two of you will go outside and dance around, laughing and jumping in small puddles
after, Donna will light candles and the two of you will sit on the couch huddled under blankets and warm up so you don’t catch a cold from the rain
Some days will be sunny, though
Donna will absorb each sunny day as a breath of fresh air
she’ll walk around the city and take pictures of all the new growth she sees
if you go with her, she’ll have you stand next to trees regaining their leaves and sit in a field of blooming flowers as she takes a variety of photos

Autumn is the season of warm colors, and Donna lives for it
if you don’t think she would stop to take a picture of every colored leaf on each tree because the light hits it differently and it’s a slightly different shade then the last one, you’re sorely mistaken
and if you question her about it, she’ll just give you a small smile and tell you she wants to make sure she remembers every day she spends with you
and then she’ll tell you go to pose by a tree so she can take a hundred photos of you surrounded by the falling leaves
if, by chance, you decide you want to jump into a pile of leaves, she will not hesitate to snap more pictures while you’re laughing and smiling
but she will not join you unless you ask her and tell her you really want her to put the camera down and enjoy the day with you for a while
Quiet evenings by the window and fireplace are an absolute must for Donna during autumn
she’ll sit in a comfy chair or curled up on the couch with a soft blanket wrapped around her shoulders and a mug of hot cocoa or tea next to her as she edits the photos she took that day
i think she’d be content if you were simply in the same room as her doing your own thing while she does hers
Baking days are also a must for Donna
she’ll cajole you into spending an entire weekend baking cinnamon rolls, pumpkin pie, and apple bread with her
softly-scented aroma candles will be littered around the kitchen and soft classical music will be playing while the two of you bake
she won’t throw batter at you first, but if you so much as flick a small amount of batter at her she’ll dump an entire batch of rolls over your head
but at the end of the day, you’ll sit next to each other, wrapped up in a blanket, and talk about what you’ll do the next day

IT’S A DARK NIGHT in Ketterdam when an unmarked ship pulls into harbor. A small group of Kaelish are deposited on the dark shore, like leftover cargo of little value. The only witness is a Grisha leaving for Fjerda, recognition glinting in her grief stricken eyes. Her whispers reach far, and it’s a mournful night in Ketterdam when Kaz Brekker hears the news the docks bring him - mournful like a dying star, deadly like a scream on the pavement.
