We Meet Again | Sarley
kind--of--rosy:
Marley was slightly confused but she just nodded her head and looked down to Zoey, who was obviously warming up to Sam. She even talked to him - well at least a bit. A few words. But that was more than no words for sure. “Mh, Mommy says having no dogs helps.” Zoey scrunched her face a little. “Yes, I promised Zoey, I mean I have always liked puppies and I sometimes feel a bit lonely in my place so…why not, right? That way Zoey will visit me more often as well, right buttercup?” Zoey nodded quickly. “I mean I have always thought I would get a cat, but Zoey convinced me that dogs are way better…because they aren’t so mean…”
It was pretty nice to see that Zoey was warming up to him, Sam had always felt like he as good with kids, so it had been weird when she hadn’t really liked him, or at least shown a bit of interested in him. Sam nodded his head, “I understand, and it seems like Marley really wants a dog, so that means you’ll get to spend time with one when you’re around her,” Sam said smiling at her. Sam looked at Zoey, “you did good, dogs are way better than cats,” he said, “but here I thought that reindeer’s was the best, the song says they’re better than people, so that should mean they’re better than dogs too right?” he asked, looking at Zoey, before he looked over at Marley. “Hopefully she won’t say that she wants one as a pet.” Sam smiled, it was almost a relief, knowing that he wasn’t a dad, and that he hadn’t missed a part of his kid’s life. “So I’m guessing you don’t have anyone to keep you company during cold and lonely nights.”
