Writer’s Block
A picture says a thousand words. Write them.
Mission: Write a story, a description, a poem, a metaphor, a commentary, or a critique about this picture. Write something about this picture.
Be sure to tag writeworld in your block!
Fill a bag with random items and then get your pupils to write their own story!Â
Will do this in my classroom =)
I am totally making my own version of this for world book day!
We can tell our children that school is important until we’re blue in the face, they’re not stupid. They see the loudest applause is for the kids on the field. They know teachers are paid poorly and don’t drive fancy cars. They know people plan Super Bowl parties but mock the National Spelling Bee. In other words, they see the hypocrisy, and we can’t expect society to correct itself. If we want to have any lasting influence on the way our kids approach education — the way future generations approach education — then we have to grab our pom-poms and paint our faces and celebrate intellectual curiosity with the same vigor we do their athletic achievements.

Put homework tasks into the hands of your student’s!
These free printable banners are great for all classrooms!
Our classroom is TINY! We have huge, broken tables that take up most of the room. Their size is prohibitive and we have very little room to move around and complete activities. Most activities… My students need 8 sturdy tables to complete collaborative projects and daily assignments throughout the school year.
Lovely education people, please consider donating to my Donors Choose project for new tables. Our current tables are teeny tiny and falling apart and there’s no money to buy new ones. If you donate anytime in the next seven days and enter the code INSPIRE your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar (up to $100!)
Thank you!!!
These magnets are a great idea for showing off kids work they take home!
I love this idea of upcycling old filing cabinets and making them bright for the classroom, just with a bit of spray paint. I’ve got a couple in my garage that were going to be scrapped, no way now!
Paint your old paintpots to create these great ‘in’ and ‘out’ homework collection tins!
Create your own summer reading logs!
This is a great idea for teaching persuasive writing and it works even better if you are able to team teach it with a member of the history department! Get students to discuss what is effective or less effective about these posters and why they were used. Then get them to create their own!Â
I love these! They would work great for character analysis or speaking and listening assessments!
