if nothing else, live for that chance to have your own home garden, to watch the butterflies drink sweet nectar from your flowers, to feel found in a space of your own
Placing misogyny as an inherent trait of men/masculinity is just another form of "boys will be boys" btw. You cannot ever meaningfully hold misogynists accountable if you treat it as an inherent trait of their identify and not bigotry they are willfully perpetuating.

so I got into grad school today with my shitty 2.8 gpa and the moral of the story is reblog those good luck posts for the love of god
okay so i just got my dream job??? a week after applying to it?? and now iâm thinkingâŠ.maybe this is the good luck post
âŠ..not even six hours later i got an offer of a well paying full time long-term job with free room and board in queens in nyc, allowing me independence and a way to escape an abusive situation and an unhealthy environment
likes charge reblogs cast, folks, this is the good luck post
i need all the help i can get for finals
Hey so
the last time I reblogged this post right before I got a great job, in a permanent work-from-home position, with benefits, retirement, and a salary literally 3x what I was making before, doing something I really like.Â
So you know.Â
This might be the real one, yâall.
Reblogging to spread the luck and the good fortune
the notion of saving lives at all costs prevents suicidal people from speaking about their experiences in a candid way, knowing they will be decentered (e.g. âyour family/friends will be devastated if you dieâ), subject to moral arguments (e.g. âsuicide is a selfish actâ), referred to someone else, often someone who has a hefty paywall behind their listening ear (e.g. âare you seeing a therapist about this?â), or incarcerated against their will. because of this, voices of suicidal people are left out from conversations about suicide, even paradoxically in campaigns encouraging suicidal people to reach out for support.
in order to break the stigma around suicidality, we have to break away from the prevention-no-matter-what script and honor suicidal peopleâs autonomy, allowing them to speak freely about their lived experience even in the face of personal discomfort for nonsuicidal people. in our current society, nonsuicidal people wield power/privilege over suicidal people. if your immediate reaction to hearing about a marginalized personâs pain is to shut them down in some way, you need to evaluate why you are centering your own comfort above another person who is confiding in you.
imagine falling in love and it works out for the rest of your life
i love you mango i love you peaches i love you raspberries i love you strawberries i love you pineapple
âyou dreamed of me?â âno, i thought of youâ is just literally insane. it throws everything out the window. the yearning, the hoping, the wishing. itâs about loving someone on PURPOSE. loving someone INTENTIONALLY.Â
you are never truly alone. iâm here with you every step of the way. when you feel your world is falling apart, i hope you trust that you will be okay. you are being taken care of. you will make it. things are aligning for you. youâre no longer being held down by the stress and worry of what could've been, what is, or what isn't. when you feel like you can't find your way, trust that if you made it through then, you will get through this too. everything that you've gone through is positioning you to be the healed version of you. youâre just becoming.
âwhat if kids identify with something and it ends up just being a phase-?â good. stop teaching and expecting kids (and adults honestly) to formulate permanent traits and ideas of themselves. everything in life is a phase. that doesnât make it any less legitimate while you experience it. let people explore themselves and know itâs okay if what you think about yourself changes.
donât be scared to live lovingly. compliment your friends on the little things and cheer for live bands in small cafes and leave tips when you can. tell the person you saw that you really like their shirt and write cards and letters to the people you love. make playlists for people and donât be afraid to express your appreciation for others. life is so much better when you live it with love.
things that seem small can be really brave:
getting up in the morning
asking for help
stopping when you know youâve pushed yourself too hard
admitting when you were in the wrong
forgiving yourself
making an effort even when you donât have the motivation
reaching out to others when you feel alone
+ much more
The more you're struggling, the kinder I need you to be to yourself. It's going to make it unbelievably harder and more painful for you if you're beating yourself up for what you can't do right now, or blaming and hating yourself for all the ways that your struggle is inconveniencing your life.
