Gold - 6.3+8.166=14.466.
Melbourne UB EF
1. Du Siyu (6.2D + 7.566E)
2. Chen Yile fell on her shaposh but the rest was good (13.133). She upgraded her bars routine by adding another E pirouette.
Chen Yile at Melbourne World Cup qualifications (photos from 体操光年)
The LO could have gotten more air and the triple wasn’t the best, but Chen Yile just hit her first international beam set very well. Don’t know if someone already posted this here. 14.366 (6.3).
Very excited for this kid this year, maybe first Chinese AA medal since 2011?
And she changed her mount! (Gif from 体操光年)
pretty sure other ppl can do sheep jump well besides vika
Melbourne Cup
Unofficial but according to weibo: Chen Yile, Li Qi, Du Siyu, Liu Jinru
This was the roster submitted but according to CCTV, Li Qi isn’t going (they listed the other 3 WAG gymnasts in the news clip) 😬
China is now on the Jesolo poster :O
Rhonda Faehn, the women’s program director, also said in the email that USA Gymnastics has decided not to compete at meets in Canada and Italy that have been staples on the calendar. (x)
Meet Ou Yushan, a 2004 baby from Guangdong.
Look at her lovely toepoint and extension <333 You can watch her beam and floor routine here. Really pretty form!
She is now on the national team with Coach Wang and Xu (same group as Tingting, Yile and Li Qi). Fingers crossed.
A more recent and difficult but still beautiful beam routine here
Any Chinese Juniors to watch that turn senior in 2019 and beyond?
There is Tang Xijing who is very likely to be going to YOG this year. She has a planned 6.8 beam routine with a super floaty layout and triple twist dismount and a 6.0 bars.
Then there is Qi Qi and Yu Linmin who are really good vaulters. They both have DTYs, Qi Qi attempted a Rudi while Yu Linmin has competed a Cheng.
Yin Sisi has a difficult beam routine (BHS+BHS+layout, FHS+front tuck), a pretty Gomez turn on floor and is probably the next best 2019 all arounder
Other notable 2019 seniors on the national team are Zhao Shiting, Li Shijia
For 2020 seniors, most of the juniors are not standouts yet. Keep a lookout for Wei Xiaoyuan and Guan Chenchen (Li Qi’s junior. They have the exact same set of coaches)
Coach Chow is at the China National Training Centre now. No one knows why/for how long he is there. But while he is there, he is teaching them those strength conditioning exercises.
2018 Chinese Gymnastics Calendar

She is a relatively decent bar worker. Rumored upgrades too!
