10 years ago, 6 trolls played a game

Give or take a week or so.  Due to the loosey-goosey nature of Team Paradox in the early days, and the destruction of the original MSPA forums, it’s hard to nail down the exact starting date.  But, as a conservative estimate based on the oldest confirmable date I have handy, Team Paradox is now 10 years old.

So uh, since Photobucket changed its policies, none of the images work anymore. You should still be able to directly access them from your account though, so, you should be able to upload them to imgur. You'd still have to fix the image link on each page though. If this sounds like too much of a hassle i could probably find someone else to or do some of the work myself, I would just really like to read it. Also, I used [S] Reverse in a compilation video, I hope that's ok, I meant to ask earlier.

The images have been broken for years, and many of them were two or three computers ago for some of us.  Sorry to say but there’s not really any way to restore most of them.  We’re glad Team Paradox was a fun thing for people to watch us create!  But it was the act of creation itself that was fun for us; a roleplay we did together on chat programs in realtime.  It was never really something we thought of as needing to be preserved forever.

its been like 80 million years since i read TP but i heard a piano thing and got lowkey disappointed when it wasnt Red's music. It seems that even after all this time team paradox's nostalgia brings with it a feeling of 'summer', thank you for the good memories, it was definitely a trip

So i tried using the wayback macine to look for missing images but just can not seem to find any. This really saddens me that such a cool webcomic is slowly fading away. Is there a plan to refind all the lost images?

We were actually able to restore a huge swath of the missing images after they started vanishing.  Quite a lot of Act One was able to be restored, as well as the Crazed Royal battle onward.  And of course Act Three is doing fine.

Unfortunately, not all of the images could be retrieved for various reasons.  And while there are certainly more we could restore, we simply don’t have the time and manpower to spend hours at a time tracking down and re-uploading images.

In regards to the previous post, you may have spotted dear old Conductor Serpentine behind the wheel (helm?  throttle?) of the train.  He was going to feature in the intro animation, but alas time makes fools of us all.

So, it’s crossed my mind that I never posted this, and that actually some members of the team weren’t aware of the fact that it even existed, but way back in the summer of 2011, as I prepared for Marnix’s inevitable entry into the Medium, I decided to attempt to make a short interactive flash for Team Paradox.

This was to take place immediately after Marnix’s arrival in LoSaR, as he prepares to explore his land.  It was to be prefaced with a short intro animation which was never completed, but the design of the interactive part was pretty well where I wanted it.

Move with Arrow Keys and interact with Space.  Enjoy.

Did you have any plans about how the character's classpects would have tied into their character development? Or about the new aspects in general? (For example, it looks like you had three new aspects. Were any of them a "pair" in the way that Space and Time are in canon?)

first question: yes. tronno’s problems revolve around the fact that he is insensitive and doesn’t think about others. he has great powers and is constantly misusing them due to bad guidance and just generally being a troublemaker who practically enjoys being unhelpful if it is funny. the knight class is a protector, and the space aspect is about reproduction and cooperation. tronno needs to learn both of those things.

any questions about the new aspects the others should add in.

Second Question:

The Emissary and the Harbinger are a passive/active pair, as discussed here.  At least I think we decided on that.  We only every talked about that once I think.

[S] Tronno: Enter

Seeing as there were several pieces of art completed for the flash animation of Tronno entering the medium, I decided to put them together with some of our notes from the Idear-o-sphere so that they wouldn’t go to waste. Some gaps have been filled with images from other updates (which means they may be visually inconsistent to what is described as happening) and overall the presentation is crude, but it’s something!

Before the flash begins, there are a few panels leading up to the update:

Tronno, tired of wearing his sticky wet clothing, decides to remove his shirt and jacket.

Aliesh is caught by surprise. 

She admires his luscious male figure.

And, completely flustered...

...passes out.

As Aliesh falls to the ground, she drops the carved dowel she was holding in her hands. Tronno manages to catch it just before it can roll over the edge of the roof into the waters below.

Vladis instructs him to hurry up and place it on his Cruxtruder, as the situation outside is getting dire. Tronno is concerned for Aliesh, but does as his Moirail instructs.

Using the carved Cruxite Dowel, Tronno creates his item: A catfish. The fish flip flops all over the rooftop, and despite Tronno’s efforts falls off the edge.

Tronno is shocked, and peers over the edge. He watches the catfish land in the water with a small splash while Bardoro’s head floats over his shoulder, visibly agitated. 

Tronno realizes he needs to retrieve the catfish, and pulls his goggles over his eyes. 

Tronno closes his eyes and dives off his rooftop. He falls at extreme speeds towards the water.  Tronno hits the water, and his gills/fins fan out from behind his hair.

We briefly cut to Vladis who is in shock. 

Bardoro sprite follows Tronno down, but is hit by a meteor that would have impacted tronno's hive. He reaches 2nd tier.

Tronno looks for the fish, spots it down below and swims after it.

Tronno begins to look scared and dashes after the fish. Ominous silhouettes of various sea creatures emerge from the deep dark waters.

Tronno has a series of quick and vague flashbacks to a traumatic past event. He sees himself buried underwater by a large pile of rocks, his own blood floating around him.

Horrorterror-like water beasts start to chase Tronno. He dodges tentacles and teeth as he swims after the fish around coral and rocks.

All the while, meteors are getting closer to his hive and Vladis is freaking out. 

As Tronno chases the fish, a large sea creature tries to get at him. He catches the fish near the surface and his hands holding this thing like SHOOTS out of the water.

Tronno succeeds, and he and Aliesh are safely transported to his land.

I hope you all enjoyed this look at what could have been, as a lot of work was put into these drawings. We are all very sad that Team Paradox may never reach a proper conclusion, but I am simply amazed at how dedicated some people were to stick with us despite it all. Thank you all very much.

So this is something I’ve had sitting around for quite some time now.  According to the file, I made this around 2.5 years ago.  It was going to be used for Marnix’s entry flash, and then when time became a more rare commodity, Vladis and Marnix’s joint entry flash.  And then that didn’t end up happening.

But now I get to share it, so that’s cool.
