hopeful-hugz:
As nice as it was, Hope didn’t really acknowledge the claps and cheers outside of a nod or two. She had been defending herself and in her mind, that hardly deserved any sort of praise. Then again, maybe she was just desensitized to it all, at this point in her life.
The half-breed gives a mental sigh, starting to turn to face the group the purebred had nearly launched her into, before freezing in place the moment Terra spoke up. That voice… She knew that voice. It hadn’t reached her physically in years, but even now it was unmistakable.
But it couldn’t be. It was physically impossible.
“Good to know you’re alright. I’m sorry you had to see that, I didn’t think it’d knock me back as far as it did.” Hope fully turns to face the group and the serious expression on her face goes to one like she’s just seen a ghost, then to a small smile. No, it couldn’t be the ones she used to know; she knew they went blank years ago. “I’ll be fine too, I’m a doctor. I’ve got stuff to fix myself up.” A small pause. “It probably is a good idea if we all get out of here though. Just in case that aether being comes back with backup.”
She had no reason not to trust these guys. Be they alts, or some sick trick by the multiverse to punish her for not doing more to protect the ones she knew, she knew one thing. This group was trustworthy. “As long as I keep a low profile, we should be alright.”
But it was possible- reincarnation, as it were. The group all together, different yet similar. Even Terra’s wooden crown was similar to the orange metal one he once wore.
“It’s fine, really. We’re no stranger to conflict.” In fact, the area had been under quite a bit of conflict for the past few weeks- a war being waged against humans and those that stood for them. Not that she had any way of knowing that, of course.
“Oh, you’re a doctor? Good. We don’t have much in the way of permanent shelter unfortunately, but we can help protect you while you recover.”
Then, a dragonfolk man walked up and held out an arm. “Here, do you need any help walking?” By the sound of his voice, that would be Saturn.
Terra turned to a colourful bird man, obviously Jupiter. “Do you mind continuing where we left off in foraging? We still need something for dinner tonight.”
Jupiter nodded. “Sure thing, I’ll be back in a flash!” And with that, he flew off.
