Orphan’s Past
This could be the start of a series featuring Levi Ackerman and fellow Captain (my character) Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Dale who is loosely based on Jane Eyre. If you think this could be a series, please let me know! Hope you like this story either way!!

The day started as regularly as any other. Levi and the other Captains gathered their cadets and looked them over as any Captain would, briefing them on their assignments for the day. The teams were assigned regular chores, differing from each Captain and on this particular day, Levi decided to make his cadets go back to cleaning duty. As he carried onto his supervision, he saw that the squad after his was taking the horses out of their stables and doing exercises in the field.
That particular squad was taken over by a new Captain earlier that year by the name of Elizabeth “Beth” Dale; a capable woman in her late 20s, with enhanced senses given to her at birth, who specialized in horse training and regulating her cadets on self-care and the importance of working together as a team. She was just as rigorous in keeping her subordinates in line as Levi, but she also showed compassion and empathy. Because of her kind nature, she earned the nickname “Mother Hen” among the other Captains.
At the present moment, Levi could see that Beth was helping some cadets and correcting them on their stances or warning them about the specifics on their horses. Even at a distance, Levi could hear her voice from the paddock. “Watch Jupiter! You need to keep a firm hand on him or he’ll wonder. Hey, don’t yank on Brinker’s mouth! The more you push him, the more he’ll fight back! Just trust him! That’s right, good job with Athena!”
She was on her own horse Spur, going in between from mount to mount. Levi had to admit, he was impressed by her horsemanship and he was not even that fond of horses. But, there was more work to be done, so Levi went back to his office to start on the reports back in his office.
