YES, we survived Frankfurt Book Fair 2014!

Had an exhausting yet amazing weekend with our fellow tumblr fangirls otterly-attractive and padaletzki and met a bunch of incredibly nice and nerdy people.

We also took the opportunity to make quite some plans for next year's cosplays. Like a bigger Avengers group and a X-Men group with Mar as Quicksilver, otterly-attractive as Erik, padaletzki as Beast, me as Charles and some more friends in additional roles.

Hey I saw the beginnings of your captain America sheild cosplay and it looks really interesting. How did you make the loops that you're connecting? If you wouldn't mind sharing.

I’m working after this really great tutorial: part 1, part 2

Though I experimented a bit and changed some things, like sanding down the meeting points of the loops. I’ll post a step-by-step when I’ve finished it.

This way of building the shield is easy and cheap and the material is still sturdy enough to keep its form.

I haven’t transferred the newer pics on the laptop yet, but here’s a pic of before I assembled it, aka before I ruined the silver paint:
