SAMANTHA :
Sam took the towels and the bowl to her backpack and crouched down in front of it to get out another bottle of water and one of the onions she had with her. “You should tell him to. They are good for mosquito bites and otitis of the middle ear and such too. I got some with me, lucky you.” Sam looked over to Charlie and smiled. She’d brought some vegentables and fruits to trade with whoever she came across, but she figured Charlie needed them more right now. After getting out her knife she sliced it up in her hand before laying the slices out on one of the towels. She even had sugar with her. There had been those little paper bags for tee or coffe in a café in the city center which Sam guessed had to be still somewhere in her backpack. “You know, at first I didn’t even go in here. Wanted to search through the neighbourhouse first. I don’t know what changed my opinion. I wouldn’t say god sent me though.” She could do the cold packs until the onions were ready. After soaking the towels, she was sitting down at the edge of the matress and uncovering the brunettes lower legs. I need to roll up your pants and take off your socks. Is that okay?” She always asked before doing anything on her patients. Charlie seemed to be weak, but Sam still didn’t want to mess with her. the fever could be messing with the girl. “So, you are with one of the camps, right? Won’t they send someone to search for you?”
“See. It was like you were meant to be here. You even have onions.” Laughing softly, it dissolved into a small coughing fit, which she managed to repress with more water. Blinking away tears that spring to her eyes as the onion was cut up, she wiped them away with the back of her sleeve and then nodded her head the question as her legs were uncovered. “Yeah... please.” Resting back against the pillows behind her, she sighed and let her eyes close, though she forced them open a moment later. “Do you have anything to eat? Crackers maybe?” She was as hungry as she was thirsty, though she was doing her best to make the water last. The question helped, giving her something to focus on, and she nodded her head, though it ended with a shrug. “I am.. but... I doubt if anyone even notices I’m gone. I’m.. sort of like wallpaper, you know? People just sort of forget about me once I’m out of their sight.”

“Good. Well, not good really, but at least you haven’t been bit.” Sam chuckled dryly. “Guessing from the state you’re in I don’t think you would’ve made it back.” She sighed and got up from the bed to look through the drawers for clothes or simply anything she could soak in cold water and wrap around the girl’s lower legs. “The onion thing. Well, onions simply work for a lot of things. Simply cut it in slices and put sugar on it. The juice you get is disgusting but a natural cough syrup.” Most drawers were empty, but there were high socks, size far too large for Sam usually, but perfect for keeping the cold fabrics in place. Te blonde threw them over to her backpack and looked back at the girl. “I’ll be gone for a sec. I’ll check the bathroom for towels.” She made sure she closed the door behind her since walkers would have less of a chance to get into the room and searched the bathroom across the hall. Of course she found a few, but also a large bowl where she could wring out the towels and not waste any water. Heading back to Charlie, Sam listened carefully for any signs of trouble, but was glad when she couldn’t hear any. “Okay, I was succesful. You up for your treatment?” The blonde asked jokingly. She couldn’t fully ban the worry from her features though.
“That’s why I stayed.” Charlie agreed, coughed at the roughness in her throat, before taking another sip of the water that had been given to her. Charlie was immensely grateful to this young woman, thanking a God she was having a hard time still believing in, that she’d come when she had. “Topher is growing onions.. I’ll have to ask him to plant more. I just hate them, so I guess I never think to use them.” Charlie cried enough as it was, and the burning sensation that came with cutting onions was her least favourite thing. For a moment, the small, sickly female almost protested the leaving of the other girl, but the presence of her stuff still there put her enough at ease that she let herself relax back into the bed and the blankets with a groan. It was hard not to go back to sleep, but she scared if she did, one of these times she may never wake up. Offering a weak smile at the return of her new caretaker, Charlie nodded her head an rolled over onto her back once more, doing her best to struggle to be half sitting with the pillows behind her back. “You’re a godsend, you know that, right?”

SIDNEY :
Sidney looked up at the tiny girl he’d been looking for.. Having snuck by more people than he could count trying to find her. So it was as he’d peek inside a door, and she saw her face he kinda just smiled, looking back behind her, and there was just food.. food everywhere.. “Heey..” he said as he heard his name, and moved his glaze back to her as she told him to get back in before he got caught snooping.. “Snooping.. Im not snooping.. Never…” he mumbled as he did as told, slipping inside the door.
“You’re totally snooping.” Her smile was warm, and genuinely pleased to see him, and almost the moment she’d spotted him she’d started to put together something for him to eat. She was working on a goulash, something thick and hearty that would fill most people with a single large bowl, and was also easy to stretch across a large number of people, so in the end she set down a tray of cut vegetables from Topher’s crops and a little bit of ranch on the side. Thank goodness unopened dressings lasted so long. “What are you even doing here? Did you come looking for me?” Blushing softly at the idea that he might of, Charlie brushed some of her hair behind her ear, and then returned to the vegetables she was chopping to put into the pot.
don’t let anyone tell you that it’s a bad thing to feel things deeply. a full heart is a strong heart and being soft doesn’t make you weak. being soft and loving makes you radiant. you deserve all of the love in the world and so many good things.
She smelled like white roses and felt as fragile and satiny as her dress.

garthcallaghans:
It was more than clear from the genuine emotion in his eyes that the man was not as closed off and unable to feel emotion as he pretended to be. Still, tears were probably one of the most unfamiliar things in life to him. Thankfully, they faded away back into his system as he willed them to do. Having her get a glimpse of any real feelings from him was enough, and Garth wasn’t about to prolong the discomfort that it caused him. Even though his words wouldn’t admit to it, he knew that she loved him. Purely and practically without much reason; he had felt it when they kissed. No, it wasn’t because he didn’t believe her that he was running away. It was because he did, and that scared him more than anything else. More than if she were to aim a gun directly at his head, and that was his biggest problem.
Even though he was about to turn his back on her, there was no saying that he wouldn’t once again return sometime in the future and use that love she felt for him. Use it to ebb away all the other pains he felt about life, because it would be easy and because she would most likely simply let him. Despite him not really being able to feel much more than a dim affection in regards to her existence. He was hurting her, it was obvious, and the sight of it didn’t give him any pleasure at all. “I don’t want you to pretend like it’s nothing. I want you to ignore it completely, to get rid of it.” Garth hoped deep down somehow, that she would know he was only reacting in this way because he did care for her. Even though his words didn’t make it seem so in the slightest.
“Well that’s it, then? You want to love someone who hurts you? You deserve more than that, believe me.” Maybe she wouldn’t believe him right now, but one day she would come to. Something would happen in her life that would force her to believe that he had been entirely correct, he was sure of it. Her words replayed in his mind, even as he turned his back on her and started walking out of the door – gluing there and probably getting ready to repeat themselves when he was alone.

Ingrid: I cannot believe Landon would do something like this!
Charlie H: I can.
Ingrid: Yeah, I guess I can too. I don't know why I said that.
That night in the school, I felt utterly weak. Like– like I needed somebody to come in and rescue me. I hate that feeling!
“Sid!” Face lighting up when she spotted the familiar far poking his head through the kitchen doors at camp, Charlie was pleased to see her friend, and just like Topher he had the miraculous ability to turn up whenever she seemed to have food just about ready to be served. “Get in here before someone thinks you’re snooping around.”

And in the end, we were all just humans drunk on the idea that love, only love, could heal our brokenness.

I’m a massive daydreamer. I’m constantly lost within my own fantasies and my own thoughts personally, and I think maybe that is sort of represented in what we do for a living, the fact that we make believe everything and we escape into these other characters for a living.
