drip-free mug. Genious!Ā

Today I took a sanity lunch break from my school projects and visited the Flatbread Company in Canton with my boyfriend. Their flatbread pizzas are so delicious! Flatbread is all about hand-made, organic, and fair trade. The inside of this restaurant is beautiful! I couldn't help but snap some photos and share them here.
We tried their Taco Pizza special, which was yummy, and for dessert we had their heavenly Cider doughnuts with graham cracker ice cream.Ā
Their website is super cute! http://flatbreadcompany.com/FlatbreadCanton2010.htmlĀ

I went to the mall today to pick up a birthday present for my mom, (Thought she might like some all natural pampering from Lush.) and noticed the cookie shop was gone! That goes to show how long itās been since I've been to the mall. To my surprise, however, in itās place was a new shop called DAVIDsTEA. Their placement is quite scandalous, seeing as itās directly beneath and across from Tevana. Talk about staring down the competition!Ā
Iām really happy that loose-leaf tea is becoming more mainstream. Iām not one for brand loyalty, as long as the product is good, so I decided to give it a shot. I tried their āTeaPop!ā which was described to me as tea soda.I should have known that by āsodaā they meant seltzer that was poured over freshly brewed, unsweetened tea. Next time I'll stick to what I know.

Tea and books? This is super cool!
Friday, April 17th 2015 -- Today, was a bit of a lazy day. For some reason my body decided I needed to sleep until 2pm (I forgot to set an alarm). To regain my energy, I wanted to have a healthy breakfast. I'm trying to find ways to spice up my unflavored white tea, and also make my Oolong tea more tolerable. So, killing two birds with one stone, I tried a blend of Bai Mu Dan and Oolong chai. (The blend still needs some working out. It wasn't very good). On the bright site, Chobani is still making its Limited Batch Green Tea yogurt! This stuff is super good. I really wish it would become one of their official flavors.
You just do it. You force yourself to get up. You force yourself to put one foot before the other, and God damn it, you refuse to let it get to you. You fight. You cry. You curse. Then you go about the business of living. Thatās how Iāve done it. Thereās no other way.

One of my favorite things about Yogi tea is that on each box they provide a yoga pose that matches the spirit of their tea flavour. With spring here, it not only signals the beginning of life again, but also the ending of school. With all these projects coming to a close and finals fast approaching, Iām starting to stress out. Today I needed to slow down and clear my head. I thought vacation in D.C. would be that, but I came home more tired than ever!Ā
With a hot cup of tea and a couple minutes of yoga, Iām myself again and ready to tackle my homework.
Monday April 6th 2015 --
Our trip to D.C. was filled with a bunch of activities, aside from tea. There are so many pictures that Iām not going to post all of them, here are a few that are relevant to this blog. The top image is of my boyfriend and I in front of one of the few blooming cherry trees. The next two are of more flowers, and the two after those are from the botanical gardens. The orchid greenhouse was beautiful, and I never knew that cocoa fruit could grow on the trunk of the tree!
The last image has a bunch of spices that you could smell. This particular cluster has Cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and a few others, but Iām sure you can guess why I took a liking to this. These are some of the main ingredients in Chai!
Happy Spring Break ! Since finals are coming up, many of us will be under lots of pressure and the revision process can sometimes be tedious and long. Studies have shown that sometimes music can help in the revision process, where the effect may vary from one person to another. Do you know what works for you?
Weāve compiled a collection of 8tracks playlists which may help revision and other daily activities, to brighten the following month(s) for you. Take some time and see which works wonders for you !Ā

There will be more about my vacation in DC soon, but I interrupt this blog to post some amazing music to relax and cleanse the soul!

While exploring DC for something to eat, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon this little coffee shop that was attached to a cupcakery. Bakers & Baristas was a beautiful building on the corner of the street. It had high ceilings and stained glass windows, with a unique industrial style decor. They sold high quality coffee and some teas and hot cocoa, along with some cute Vietnamese pastries.Ā
Next door, crammed in between B&B and another store was the Red Velvet Cupcakery. They had about 6 different cupcakes. I had to go with theĀ āSouthern Belle red velvet,ā of course. My boyfriend chose the āpeanut butter cup-cake.ā Both were extremely rich and moist. 5/5 Would recommend.
The atmosphere of these buildings completely took you out of the busy city buzz and into a tranquil yet energizing rest-stop. I wish we had more places like this in Connecticut, because I would definitely make this part of my daily routine, even if I needed to go a little bit out of my way.

I went to Washington DC, for the first time, with my boyfriend to see the Cherry blossom festival. Unfortunately, with the long and vicious winter the trees are blooming much later in the season than normal. However, there were a few flowers on the trees. One of my goals for the trip was to find a new and unique tea shop.
This chain called Teaism was pretty cool! The ground floor was tiny and crowded, with only one or two tables to sit at, so I was nervous at first. After I ordered my Chai shake (Which was simply delicious! I wish I had more time to try all their teas) we explored the downstairs. A much larger sitting area was below, and there was even a koi pond!
Next door was their actual tea shop. I bought a tea blend called Bai Mu Dan which is a Chinese white tea blend of Green leaves and silver buds. It is fairly high quality in my opinion and its delicious. The low caffeine makes it a great tea for relaxing on the couch and watching TV.Ā
A cup of hot tea really heals your soul this is true science
Actually, a cup of hot anything in your hands mimics human warmth which is said to have calming properties. So, yes, itās true. Tea mimics the need for human care, touch, and recognition.
Iām going to cry Iām so lonely now and all I have is this fucking cup of leaf water
"Love is an infinite victory." I usually get yogi tea at the Price Chopper grocery store, but I was in Target the other day and found some different favors! This one, unfortunately had licorice root in it, but it also has spiced chai. It's also great for the mornings where getting out of bed is hard. So for now, I'm going to experiment with different ways to drown out the licorice. Today I'm trying my tea with whole milk and sugar.
Itās raining today where I live so I thought I needed some motivation⦠Here it is, xx
I find this calming.
Friday, March 20th 2015 -- Last night I calmed down with the Breathe Deep blend, this morning I woke up with a cup of Kiss My Lips. Itās a black tea blended with peppermint, and... red sprinkles (and flavoring)? I wasnāt sure about this tea either. Iāve never seen sprinkles used in tea before, but I gave it a try and sure enough, this tea is quite delicious! Between the peppermint and the cute red sprinkles, this cup reminds me of Christmas. Iām surrounded by the warmth that feels as familiar as family, the sweetness of a kiss and the fragrant aroma of the holidays.
Iām quite done with the winter, so this tea isnāt as spiritually satisfying as it could be, however I now know what to look for, come next year. Iām intrigued to see what other blends this shop has that includes unique ingredients. Iāll definitely have to find a blend fit for spring and summer.
