FMCC: Federal Loan Mortgage Corp
Federal National Mortgage Association (OTCBB:FNMA)
Mortgage financier Federal National Mortgage Association (OTCBB:FNMA) turned in a record profit of $58.7 billion for the March quarter, indicating optimistic times for the housing sector ahead.
The bounce-back by the company, which was caught bang in the centre of the mortgage crisis in 2008, has surprised many as it was the recipient of one of the most expensive bailouts that corporate America saw.
There is no doubt that demand for housing has been rising over the past one year and while it may not have reached the heights it did before the sub-prime mortgage crisis, it is nevertheless buoyant.
Prices are rising at the fastest rate since the housing bubble burst and banks, chastened by their previous losses, are making sure that they are ending only to qualified buyers.
Between them, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac own or guarantee nearly half of all U.S. mortgages while backing nearly 90 percent of all new ones.
Of the total profits it earned, Fannie Mae said that about $51 billion came in part from using the tax credits. That followed $17.2 billion in profit earned last year. And Fannie says it expects to stay profitable for “the foreseeable future.”
Most of the money that the company has earned will go back to the government, as per an agreement when it was rescued by the government.
Under a federal policy adopted last summer, Fannie and Freddie must turn over their entire net worth above $3 billion in each quarter to the Treasury. Fannie said its net worth in the first quarter was $62.4 billion.
Fannie will pay a dividend of $59.4 billion to the U.S. Treasury next month. Once that’s paid, Fannie will have repaid $95 billion of the roughly $116 billion it received.

Netflix
So far this year, Netflix shares are up nearly 148%, closing at $229.38 Monday.
Milestones:
Netflix was founded in 1997 in Scotts Valley, California by Marc Randolph and Reed Hastings, who previously had worked together at Pure Software along with Mitch Lowe.
Netflix initiated an initial public offering (IPO) on May 29, 2002, selling 5.5 million shares of common stock at the price of US $15.00 per share.
In February 2007, the company delivered its billionth DVD and began to move away from its original core business model of mailing DVDs by introducing video-on-demand via the Internet.
In March 2011, Netflix announced plans to begin acquiring original content for its popular subscription streaming service, beginning with the hour-long political drama House of Cards, which debuted on the streaming service in February 2013. The series will be helmed by David Fincher, with Academy Award winning actor Kevin Spacey headlining the cast.
Kevin Systrom--- Instagram
Systrom attended the Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts, and graduated in 2006 from Stanford University with a B.S. in management science and engineering.[1] At Stanford, he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He co-founded Instagram in 2010 with Mike Krieger. He also founded Burbn, anHTML5-based location-sharing service.
He got his first taste of the startup world when he was an intern at Odeo, the company that eventually gave rise to Twitter. He spent two years at Google; during the first, he worked on Gmail, Google Reader, and other products, and during the second he worked on the Corporate Development team.[2]
After leaving Google, he co‑founded the photo-sharing service Instagram.[3] In April 2012, Instagram was sold to Facebook for $1 billion in cash and stock.[4] According to multiple reports, the deal netted Systrom $400 million based on his ownership stake in the business.[5]
Pinterest---Ben Silbermann
Silbermann was raised in Des Moines, Iowa. His parents, Jane Wang and Neil Silbermann, are ophthalmologists with a family practice. He is married to Divya Bhaskaran, with whom he has a son, Max.[3] In 1998, Silbermann attended the acclaimedResearch Science Institute at MIT. He graduated from Yale in 2003 with a political science major.[4]
Prior to Pinterest, Silbermann worked at Google in the sales organization;[2] however, after a short time with the company he left and started designing his own iPhone apps with a college friend, Paul Sciarra. After their initial application, Totte, failed to gain significant traction,[5] the cofounders created a pinboard product and Pinterest was born. However, Pinterest saw a low user base and very little engagement in its early stages. Silbermann said the prospect of telling people he failed was too embarrassing so he and Sciarra continued to tinker and improve the site. Today, Pinterest claims over 20 million users.[2]
