This is bat friendly street lighting, which not only looks sick as fuck but allows bats to pass through without disturbance, as they cannot see red.

orange and especially white lights deter bats and prevent them from reaching feeding grounds at nighttime. Please if you can, write to your local council and encourage red street lights!!!!

Cinema Anyone?

Am I the only one that would love to watch Good Omens in a cinema?

I’m envisioning a weekend setup. Season 1 on Saturday, Season 2 on Sunday. Breaks between episodes where attendees can discuss.

It would be beautiful.

Edit: Said cinema must serve extraordinary amounts of alcohol. And crepes.

It’s been a little while since I searched “Medieval illustrations of animals” and today’s finds are filling me with joy, JUST LOOK! 😍

Can highly recommend this as a pick-me-up pastime… the delights are unending!

I can totally picture Crowley stalking Michael Sheen around Port Talbot, his head popping out from behind telegraph poles/up from behind bins… hissing in Michael’s general direction across a busy supermarket, and tasting the air to check that it’s definitely *not* Aziraphale dressed up as a character for some sort of secret mission in Wales! 🧐🐍

…about to drive back to London, then suddenly stumbling upon the two *giant murals* of Michael Sheen in town. Crowley squinting over his glasses at them, and then the locals, with growing suspicions that people of the town might actually worship Aziraphale! Haha

Crowley transforming into a grumpy looking black sheep (in sunglasses) so he can follow Michael on a walk in the countryside 🤣

I mean, the material here feels endless… I, for one, would watch an entire season of just this! …Anyone else?

Now imagining Aziraphale sitting down with a cup of cocoa and a massive pile of DVDs of all David Tennant’s work, and becoming convinced that this “David Tennant” fellow is actually Crowley, merely masquerading as an actor… No doubt undertaken as a cunning tactic to carry out temptations on the masses!

Aziraphale, chair pulled up close to a historic-looking TV set, his audible gasps, his little glasses being removed to dab at tears any time one of David’s characters is in any hint of peril… Possibly doing a teensy miracle, just the once, to change a plot line to something more favourable.

Oh, and, practically glowing with pride any time he sees David’s character behaving like a *good* person.

Aziraphale would, of course, write detailed reviews all of “Tennant’s” televisual ventures and cinematography, in his Diary.

“Casanova” would have a 16-page, tear-stained, write up.

He would be particularly interested to talk to Crowley about his acting choices in “Hamlet” and “Richard II”, trying to bicker about it, at length, despite Crowley’s continued insistence that he is not secretly an actor ‘on the side’.

He would no doubt have many things to say about “Inside Man”.

He would eagerly ask Crowley if he could be introduced to his co-star from “Broadchurch”. (Just because I *love* the thought of a world where Aziraphale and Olivia Colman could become besties! ❤️) and would suggest Crowley and he make a little day trip to the seaside, where, ice cream in hand, he would excitedly quote lines of dialogue and point out all the filming locations, to an exhausted-looking Crowley 😂

Last night’s preview screening for “The Way” was fantastic! Highly recommend watching this new 3-part series when it comes out.

No ‘new year resolutions’ for me this year, but something vulnerable, instead, which I usually try to hide.

There were times during this year that I didn’t know if I would see the New Year. I don’t know what the coming year will bring, or what exactly I plan do with my time yet, but I’m grateful to be alive and to have the chance to explore 2024

My therapist just told me my problem is that I need to write more fanfiction.

This sounds fake but the logic behind it is actually really interesting? She said obsession with a new fandom triggers quick dopamine release when we consume all this related content--it's easy and addictive.

What we're NOT getting is that 'slow dopamine' that's more sustainable and engaging. That's the kind we get from DOING things that take effort but are ultimately rewarding.

So like, she suggested that writing fic and making fanart are ways to balance the quick dopamine of watching a show/reading fic with the slow dopamine of working at something that takes effort.

Moral of the story is you should engage in the process of creation around your favorite things. You'll feel better for it.

Well, hurrah. Might dabble with actually making some fan fic again! The last time was when I was c.14-18yrs old, writing about Mulder and Scully, and I remember being verrrrrry shy about it.

After uni, I felt like fan fic was something that I absolutely *shouldn’t* be making or even reading anymore, because I’d just gotten a degree in Creative Writing and English literature, and so some imaginary law in my head said that I should be producing my own characters and worlds, and only reading ‘Capital-L’ Literature… Fool. What a lot of joy (and free therapy!) I’ve missed out on in the past 16 years!

Watching Good Omens, then re-reading the book, and finding this fandom, has been the first time in years that I feel the real urge to write stories again. And I am so bloody grateful for it.

If asked to think of the *happiest* thing in the world… I think it has to be Aziraphale dancing the gavotte.

Watching this sequence is my heaven!
