What's Technician Uprising?

A Kirby AU made by me, @technicianlearner. It's mainly focused on events of Planet Robobot and its strange impacts to those who are pulled into its mess. It also acts as a combination of the game and anime continuities! Inspired by tokusatsu media (especially Kamen Rider) and anime tropes. I still don't get it! What's this AU's about? Tl;dr plz?

Long story short: The Technological War (read: events of Planet Robobot) happened. Kirby, Bandana Dee, and Robobot Armor yes they are an actual character now because HAL is a pussy created a rebellion group named Team Starstruck to deal with the invaders. Shenanigans ensue both during the war and after, because consequences exist. Also, lots of rollercoasters of angst, hurt, and comfort ahoy. No one is safe. Maybe. Except Galacta Knight. That b^tch.

What's this blog's for then?

This blog serves as a way for me to jot down all these writings, as well as making it easier for people to access its contents. Yes, my main blog has the contents for this AU too, but I wanted something a bit easier for others to digest. Plus, asks are always open if people wanted to know more about the TU in general!

WORLD 1 CHAPTER 4: A CHANCE MEETING WITH AN OLD FRIEND + CHAPTER 5: A REVELATION IN HIDING OUT NOW (+ additional updates)

…good grief. It’s finally out. And all it took was like. A whole year of reality checks and juggling life at worst. Why is life so difficult…?

In all seriousness, I’m glad I finally found the motivation and courage to jot down everything. Why did I disappear for a while? The answer: mental health struggles. That and growing up. I also have a very small business now (selling bracelets, to be exact), and I'm just struggling overall. I can't say everything but all you have to know is that I'm hanging in there.

But hey, double chapter release. I think this should hold you guys up for a bit. Thanks a lot for all the patience, for those who are still around looking for this. I sincerely hope it will be worth the wait somehow, haha…

That aside however, I do have some updates to share. They're under the cut, so if you would like to see them now, be my guest. Or you can read the released chapters first to not spoil them for yourselves. Or you can do both at the same time. Do what you want. The fics are already linked on the titles anyway.

Right, now that we're here... Here's what we got:

Nintendo is murdering all the music tracks, so we're gonna do it ourselves

You see, I've been absolutely sick of Nintendo deciding to delete any and all extended music of their games, so in the end I have given up and uploaded it all myself. Yes, you hear that right, it's very likely from now on that if there's a Kirby track (particularly Planet Robobot ones, since they are easily the most targeted) in the fic, then you'll be redirected to a unlisted video from a YouTube channel that I own. This is pretty much my final solution because editing old chapters just over music kinda sucks, and man, if I was the one reading the fic and click on the music only to realize it had disappeared, it would be an annoying hassle having to search them on YouTube.

"But Learner, you can't just... not use them? Not that we care about the music anyway?" Yes, you are right, I could just post things as-is. But no, I like being a little extra. It's the immersion guys. Additional work, yes, but I think it helps making things exciting for the readers too. It has a custom layout on it too, even an album cover made by me (though, it wasn't anything heavy, I was exhausted at the time).

Feel free to steal the OST from me and upload it to spread the word, tho. You guys have the link, should be save. At best you can even credit me for the custom album cover. It's not mandatory but would be nice, if you catch my drift.

New changelog system in the fanfic... and minor doc updates

I think I'm now a bit more obsessed with organization of my personal projects, so from now on, the latest update section has been changed into more of a changelog style. I might make a doc for like, full changelogs of everything moving forward, but we'll see.

And of course, the Soundtrack List and Special Contributor Page both has been updated in accordance. Real.

Regarding future releases moving forward

And a minor, extra one, why not. As the fic notes stated, I cannot promise that I would have anything consistent, knowing my track record and me already dabbling in balancing life. However, all I'm gonna say that you'll be expecting at least a yearly release. Yeah, that's the very least I can do. Terrifying I know, but hey... I have a life now and I need to figure out what to do moving forward. Plus there are other projects that need my attention, unfortunately, it's not just Technician Uprising.

That being said, I want to use this time to thank everyone who's been sticking around, or hopping in just recently, to join the slow, slow ride through this mechanical apocalypse. Despite the droughts of content I have submitted you guys through, the fact that you guys are still holding out that I'll release something warms my heart, at least a little. I hope I can continue writing my best, even though in the end it's just for fun. What can I say, I love my summer triangle trio, and maybe you guys will come to enjoy them too as they suffer and triumph. Because if HAL doesn't do anything with this gold mine they just created, I'm going to mine it myself /lh

Hey gang. World 1 Chapter 4 is getting... weirdly longer? I don't know if we're going to split this into two chapters but I'm just kinda cruising along, not helped by my big fat burnout kicking my ass

I promise that I'm still writing my best.

I also end up joining the Big Bang event as an artist instead. I just. Didn't have enough energy to write 10k word standalone fanfic for now. I am focusing my writing energy to Technician Uprising. Sorry about that.

Good lord, the burnout is so real right now... Sorry for inactivity! I'm just... having a lot on my plate. And being stuck in RP land. I probably should go back to the order of business-

It's been a rather tiring month, not to mention I've been on a burnout, but I am finally here to deliver the reward for completing the challenge last time.

Initially, this poster was made months ago, and supposed to be revealed at the end of World 1. Yes, it was that far. But thanks to the challenge being completed, here it is. I think... it still holds up quite well! I am just glad I managed to finish that up, and I'm super proud of it. It's posted on my main account ( @technicianlearner ) so more people would be able to see it!!

Chapter 4 still on progress!

I've been... struggling, working on this. Mainly because I've been pulled into many things at once but it's just really hard to build up this chapter, for some reason, but I can confirm we are on the road right now!

Let it be known that I'm trying to cook my best for the arrival of our waddle boy. There's just... a lot! A lot of things I'm trying to write. I want things to flow well as best as I could... so please be patient...

But it can get exhausting to just bang my head to a wall whilst not being able to figure things out a few days in a row, so... well, we DO have a side project...

We are joining a public fanfic event!

If things are going right for me, I will be able to participate in a public fanfic event on the Bookdun server! It's called Bookdun Big Bang 2: Bang Bigger! and it's a multi-fandom art and fanfic exchange.

Here is an excerpt of what I have now. Yes, getting experimental with the formatting on this one, this (just like the screenshot above on the second announcement) is a screenshot from Ellipsus, which is the writing app I use for these fics. While my submission will be set post-Planet Robobot (which means it's more Season 1 than anything...), I think the spoilers are innocuous enough that it should be okay ESPECIALLY if you have read older versions of this project. Except if you are watching the Kirby anime, but that thing's been 2 decades old at least... so...

And that's about it! I hope people know that I'm currently trying my best after everything that has happened. Hold on tight, adventurers, you will be rewarded. Eventually. Thank you for reading!

Post-Art Fight Update (ya boy needs rest)

Hello folks! Yes, I hear you, "Learner Art Fight is over give us art". However, I needed to recover after 1 month of non-stop drawing and neglecting everything on my backlog.

This means, I need some time before I can post things. I needed a break, y'all, bare with me. So, several things will be announced here:

Commissions will be open again August 4 2025, West Indonesian Time. I am prioritizing this because I got very little money during July, so please hold your horses, future buyers.

All activities regarding @technicianuprisingau will continue again August 13 2025. This is so I can have some time doing comms, but might be faster or slower depending on the traffic.

A report regarding my ArtFight activities will be shown at the end of next week, at minimum - this also includes 5 posts of art showcase (god help whoever gets pinged) and links + reblogs to any defenses I got that did get posted to Tumblr!

And there is something special that will be announced to the TU blog as well! Check one of the reblogs.

2. I am creating a species guide!

I know, I know, perhaps too early to make OCs for this universe, but, please, have some patience, y'all. To ensure that your OCs do not clash with the Technician Uprising universe, I've decided to create a list of species that you can create. Some species are free for all to create, some are more restricted, just pay attention to each of them.

"But Learner! When will you post it?" Good question. I'll try to write this in-between chapter work and pretty much everything else. Know that it exists, that's all about it.

DISCLAIMER: There will be no microtransaction included in this species guide. There is no money required to make restricted species, this just means they are meant to be rare. Please, hold thy horses.

3. There is already a headstart on World 1 Chapter 4!

Yes, it was in the works, whilst the behemoth that is World 1 Chapter 3 got worked on. Not much yet, but it will be continued. Just have patience, everyone!
