I tend to forget I’m walking on the surface of a soft mass on fire on the inside, a surface warmed and lit by an explosion taking place ninety-three million miles away. An explosion that started at some point and will end at some point. I tend to forget that I rose out of this explosion and— despite my feeling I am unique from it— will someday fall back into it.

I would rather have bare wood floors than walls filled with furniture. It will be nice to look back on this several months from now and remember the feeling. The feeling of freedom while doing a handstand against a wall because there is room. 2 weeks until my yoga teacher training. I am so ready.
Someone asked me what home was and all I could think of were the stars on the tip of your tongue, the flowers sprouting from your mouth, the roots entwined in the gaps between your fingers, the ocean echoing inside of your ribcage.

I’m not sure how I ended up in this dim candlelit room. The sprinklers are going off outside and the backdoor is open. I’ve been on edge all day. Just waiting to be capsized into oblivion. My heart has been aching recently and my mind is trying to soothe her. My mala clicks and clacks as I moved it through my fingers. 108 beads to think and to pray for anything this world might be able to provide. I ask the universe to show me and allow me to see. From the guru bead and back around... Show me, allow me to see. I’d rather spend my nights under candle lite than under 40 watt bulbs. My heart has been aching, it is time to spend some time soothing her.
I saw in their eyes something I was to see over and over in every part of the nation- a burning desire to go, to move, to get under way, anyplace, away from any Here. They spoke quietly of how they wanted to go someday, to move about, free and unanchored, not toward something but away from something. I saw this look and heard this yearning everywhere in every states I visited. Nearly every American hungers to move.
