Such a deep and moody track! It sounds like an agitated sonar combined with the sound of shattering metal. Dystopian!

Kevin Gorman - Shakey Metallic Beats [Mikrowave]

Heard this one first time when Ben Klock played it in Berghain. This was the moment I fell in love with this kind of Techno and the club. It just sounds awesome on a decent soundsystem. The acidic baseline and the mercyless bass just make it the perfect sound for a techno party.

This track has a very claustrophopic atmosphere to me.Even more so if you listen to it in a crowded dark room with not much more than a strobe to lighten up the place.

Marcel Fengler - Enigma [Ostgut Ton]

Techno.

I once listend to this while crossing a river on ferry on a cold january afternoon. The scenery fitted this song perfectly. The grey sky, the leafless trees, the brown water, the foggy air, the rumbling of the ferry's steel body.

The perfect winter music.

Echologist - Dirt (Ben Klock Remix) [Ostgut Ton]

Techno.

Powerful, monotone remix by Ben Klock. For me this also sounds like a giant factory and fits perfectly to the impression of Berghain being a giant moloch. Sounds just awesome on the Function One soundsystem there!

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaur - Your Love (Waze & Odyssey Remix) [Nice Age]

Fun remix by the duo Waze & Odyssey. Spreading good vibes on the dancefloor I suppose. More and more people are starting to do this modern reinterpretation of NJ/NY House and Garage, up till now most of it sounds quite fresh. Let's see how long this will last and enjoy those tracks.

Apple Juice - Give Yourself Up 2 Techno (Mike Parker Autumn Remix) [Geophone]

Techno.

Typical Mike Parker track, very monotone and powerful. The remix sounds nothing like the original but this is not really a bad thing. It sounds like a weird machinery in an alien factory. This weird spider level in Unreal 2 just came to my mind.

Prince of Denmark - Soulfood [Giegling]

Techno.

Powerful and deep Dub Techno. Heavy, claustrophic, dark. This is what I imagine how it feels like sinking with a big ship. Around you the sound of steel breaking and bending, waves splashing against the walls and you, drowning, slowly fading out of conciousness.

Henning Baer - Multicore [Krill Music]

Techno.

Very deep and dark Techno by Henning Baer on Jonas Kopp's label Krill Music. This could be the soundtrack of a 1970s Sci-Fi movie, adding atmosphere to a big fight of starships. Or it is a track you could listen to while looking at a dystopian picture of a destroyed city of the future.
