Ted Snedeker
Another rave review from Amazon reader
A big thanks to Ellen Strasma for her kind words on May 5, 2016, after reading the Amazon Kindle Edition:
“Great story. Hard to read due to tiny type. This is a very timely book, as it describes an Illinois that has solved all its current problems, though certainly not in a way many in either Chicago or Springfield would approve. The story itself is absolutely 5 star excellent, combining farm life, disaster survival, war, terrorism, romance, and flying. It is a best case scenario for how The 50 states might eventually do better without Washington, DC. So why only 4 stars? Because the publishing tool used yields text so tiny as to be almost unreadable, with no way to enlarge it other than manually zooming each new page on an iPhone or iPad.”
Instapundit plugs The Deputy
Check it out! Glenn Reynolds, otherwise known as Instapundit, plugged The Deputy on May 3: From Ted Snedeker, The Deputy: Reaping the Whirlwind…. http://pjmedia.com/instapundit/232875/

About the Author
One of Ted Snedeker’s favorite rejoinders is: “I am just an Illinois farm boy, what do I know?”  In fact, he knows quite a lot.Ted spent six years with the U.S. Navy working on nuclear weapons.  After spending some time as an electrician’s apprentice, he went to work in the telephone industry and never looked back.  He worked his way up from telephone equipment installer to the manager of installation for Northern Telecom.  In this position, he was responsible for equipment installation throughout the U.S., including Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico.In 1981, he started his own company.  For 35 years the company designed, built and installed switching systems across the country and half the world.  He worked on major projects in Guam, New Zealand, China, Venezuela, Japan, Hawaii, and Alaska, as well as smaller systems and short jobs in a dozen more countries.Ted is a licensed pilot, motorcycle enthusiast, deep-sea fisherman, and frustrated Bears fan.  He currently lives in a house he built on a farm in Southern Illinois with his wife of more than 50 years, two Chow dogs and a pair of cats, who allow the rest of the clan to share their house.

Ted’s First Tale
Washington, D.C., leveled by a nuclear bomb — the ultimate act of terrorism — is rubble. The federal government has collapsed. Terrorists are launching attacks across the shattered nation. Amid the chaos stands Roy Lee White, a former Marine and rodeo star. Militias formed, and White, leaning on his military background, immediately took charge of one company of soldiers. His success as a leader led to an appointment of a deputy sheriff and then as a special projects operative, appointed by the Illinois governor. At odds with the commander of state police and pursued by the governor’s beautiful aide-de-camp, Roy Lee struggles to lead and survive in this war-ravaged dystopian world.
