Imagine telling someone that there are no bad medical professionals. That it’s all the system’s fault if unfortunate things happen to you when under a medical professional’s care. As if greedy humans don’t exist and there isn’t a wide trend of teen bullies who never mature, entering the medical field, military, and law enforcement because they look for a power trip.
‘what made you decide to have the film in korean’ she asks the korean director who lives in korea and speaks korean and hired a korean cast to play korean characters to make social criticism about class in korea

Bracketing the stupidity of this opinion, I don’t understand this take at all. Oligarch is a Greek word. It isn’t even a word that is classically used for non-Europeans, like despot. It just means member of the ruling group of a polity ruled by a small group.
On MSNBC there’s this discourse that the word “oligarch” implies a Russian context, because they’re bumbling ignoramuses who’ve only ever encountered the word oligarch when hearing about “Russian oligarchs”. They don’t know what the word means.
So calling an American billionaire an oligarch, in their minds, is drawing an unfair comparison to Russian oligarchs. They furthermore consider this unfair because they believe Russia is the most evil country and horrifying dystopia on Earth, so it must be exaggeration to say any American does things as bad as those damn dirty Russians do.
They think it’s like a histrionic “literally Hitler” comparison.

From R. Talsorian’s Cyberpunk 2020 Eurosource
“Across the Atlantic is a place known and envied by those few American Cyberpunks who can scrape together enough euro to ‘hop the pond’. New Europe- in all its greed and grandeur, graffiti and glory. The place that set the pace and makes the style. A place where a deceptive tameness hides even more lethal ruthlessness.
In this book you’ll meet the elite; rulers of the most powerful entity on earth: The European Economic Community. You’ll party with the Goldenkids in Cannes, dreampaint in Paris, scuffle with the Meatboys in Liverpool, face down organnitskaya crime lords in the Neo-Sov, and maybe grab a few gamma-rays on the turbulent Greek Islands.
So here’s your ticket, ripperboy. Grab your seat; the party’s just starting. Here’s Eurostyle- in your face” (pg 2).
