Halo novels journey update: Contact Harvest and The Cole Protocol were both great. Very much enjoyed finally learning more about the Insurrectionists in both, and (this is not a fault but a feature) you really couldn’t get attached to anyone not in the games because they kept dying like three chapters later!

And obligatory shoutout to Miranda for, as I predicted, being in The Cole Protocol for about ten seconds. It was a good ten seconds though!

Currently, I have finally started the Kilo-Five trilogy and am about 100 pages into Glasslands but it had me hooked in the very first chapter with, you guessed it, the Miranda mention

Too little too late Halsey!!! iirc she already knows Jacob is dead (not that she cared THAT much about him anyway) but oh boy am I excited to see when she finds out about Miranda and how that differs from her reaction to learning about Master Chief and Cortana!!! I am normal about this messed up mother / daughter / AI daughter clone / kidnapped child turned soldier kind-of-son-but-not-really-more-like-pet dynamic 👍
