here’s my take on this issue, feel free to argue if you’re gonna be polite, feel free to die if you’re not gonna be polite
The supposition of this entire post seems to be that, in order to be trans, your gender needs to deliver you some kind of pain — emotional pain from being perceive in a way that makes you uncomfortable, physical pain either from others or yourself from being perceived in a way that makes you uncomfortable, etc.
If the criteria for being trans is experience distress, what about the trans people who don’t feel distressed, but feel the need to alter their bodies?
Me, for example. I’ve been openly trans since I was 4, openly transitioning since I was 16, and now, at 21, as I’ve grown and learned, about feminism, how feminine bodies are perceived and treated under patriarchy, etc — I’ve come to be comfortable in my body, but still ID as trans.
Or what about He/Him lesbians.
If the expound factor for being trans is emotional distress regarding your assignment, does this not make He/Him Lesbiands trans men by virtue?
Ff your argument is that, if you have distress regarding your assignment, you’re trans, and He/Him lesbians have distress about their assignment (or at least the perception of their assignment) to the point of wantig to be refered to as male, yet are not transgender (at least by your definition)
Can you not see how this is holding up?
The notion that you have to, full stop, be uncomfortable in your body to be trans is widely misogynist and pretty anti-woman and prett-anti a lot of shit.
What about trans people who also happen to be intersex?
It seems to me like your definition of being transgender is relegated to a binary comprehension of gender — either or, male or female — and that’s sad because their are millions of trans, GNC people out there who are comfortable with their bodies but not their assignments.
And I don’t think people who are comfortable with their bodies would undergo a process to alter it.
Gender means a lot of things to a lot of people.
So the expound factor of “being uncomfortable with your assigned gender” is way to narrow a criteria for being trans.
Like, what if a trans man love his chest, but hates his vagina? Or a trans woman wants breasts and loves her penis??
Are these people sufficiently trans in your eyes?
But, more than that,
The only people who will be benefit from trans people being trans because they are sick are bigots and Eugenicists; if they can use being sick against us in the work place and in public, they will.
I think we really need to stop seeing gender as this innate state of being and agree about what it really is:
A very convoluted and deeply personal experience specific to individuals.
A trans person is any person who does not conform with their assignment and IDs as trans.
Period.
Trans and GNC people existed long before any medical association in varied manners accords literally almost every society in recorded human histroy.
And they’re not going to all look, feel or act the same.
Stop telling trans people they aren’t trans because they don’t meet your criteria.
It’s wrong, deeply transphobic and honestly just really god damn dangerous.

This is a pure website now
If your straight guy friend says that he supports gays, tell him that you thought he was gay when you first met him. See how fast he gets upset and insecure & starts asking you why you thought that.
My gay guy friend tried this to our straight friend and the response he got was “thought? More like hoped” and then he winked. That’s a real ally right there.
He really just scalped your poor gay friend on the spot didn’t he lmfao
I tried this on a straight friend and he turned bright red and mumbled something about how he might be bisexual actually? so I introduced him to some of the other queer folks I know and flash forward 4 months he’s definitely bi and out to all of our friends and dating a guy on his intramural kickball team.
Loving all of this
someone asked me if i was into humiliation
i like being slapped around and spit and pissed on and made into a pathetic mess but only after ive been told how precious i am
i like being “daddys filthy slut” but i dont like being a “worthless ugly bitch”
i guess i enjoy like, the loving kind of humiliation? like its fun to make a fool out of myself for someone else’s enjoyment, as long as they assure me of my worth and tell me i’m a princess while i’m doing it.
finally…. my trans privilege has arrived… time to show off these masculine presenting titties
my hobbies
switching between the same three apps for hours

listening to the same songs i have been listening to for 20 years
imagining myself in situations that will literally never exist
since tumblr is dying i’m making commentary on all of my worst/popular posts
this is not entirely healthy. i posted this at a really fucked up time in my life where i felt like a prisoner to issues in my personal life. these were my coping mechanisms and they’re not great ones. i’m not saying these actions every once in a while aren’t helpful and theraputic, but this all the time is straight up escapism. anxieties essentially activated my fight or flight response and my “flight” included retreating into my imagination, latching onto things that made me feel nostalgic, and keeping my mind occupied with simple formulas (like scrolling through social media over and over even tho i’d already damn seen everything)
the fact that so many people on this site relate to this makes me so sad. i just hope that some of the people who’ve shared this in the past have found better coping mechanisms.
Someone asked my maths professor why numbers exist and she said “One day, for whatever reason, someone decided they wanted to count things and it’s been a major inconvenience for everybody ever since.”
