Idle Love (Idol AU) (Asks are closed for now!)

A reader-insert story in a comic format that's paced and told by answered asks (and some indulgent posts from me, haha). It features a fem-presenting idol MC who adopted twin babybones of an alternate Sans and Papyrus. The Undertale AUs involved in this are: Original, Underfell, Underswap, Swapfell and Fellswap. Is silby like their playhouse counterpart and inhabiting the body of a fallen down monster, with the possibility of grillby awakening one day? Or is something else going on, leaving silby as the sole inhabitant of their body?

While Sillby is part of my self-insert series, their circumstances are different from their playhouse counterpart! Unlike MC!Sans, Sillby is all alone in their soul despite possessing two of it!

Like, I have a What-if AU that MC didn't dedicate their life in studying and fixing the Machine. Instead, they dedicate it to giving their Sans his own body so that they can exist side by side; hence, deviating from their mechanical engineering expertise in canon to something more medicinal/biological.

I was thinking that this endeavor would have them and Alphys spend years on working in fixing the Amalgamates. After Alphys dies, MC gets to do more unhinged experiments such as self experimentation and mutilation, with their Save Points being their safety net. Do they succeed in separating the Amalgamates and curing them altogether? Ehh, tbh it's a toss up.

Regardless, the entire experience essentially makes MC the best monster healer there is lol

And when the Machine starts Acting Up(TM), MC gets transported into a War AU involving different AU counterparts haha!

Cue: the struggle of being the most demanded doctor in the world.

H-hey, so…. About that MC toriel you drew…. Any story ideas 👀👀

Okay so, Self-Insert Toriel (maybe Siriel??? lmao) takes place on a Genocide route-- except!! SI!Toriel is proactive and aware about the Geno route and wouldn't even let it happen.

They will escort Frisk everywhere, supervising every one of Frisk's monster encounters. The stick? Confiscated. The Toy Knife? Confiscated. SI!Toriel is simultaneously Frisk's easiest Pacifist route and hardest Genocide route.

They are doing their best to tame this murderous protagonist lmfao

Flowey can try to get rid of SI!Toriel to help 'Chara' reach their potential, but SI!Toriel is aware of Flowey and what he's capable of, so their Boss monster magic should be enough to fend him off.

SI!Toriel will even escort Frisk outside the Ruins!

Btw, SI!Toriel is a Justice soul, but!! that doesn't mean they're motherly with a side of righteousness. SI!Toriel's personality is crass, straightforward, a bit heavy handed towards active threats, but lives by their principles of never killing anyone.

I haven't thought of how everything would go, but their dynamic with Frisk and Sans is basically:

SI!Toriel: When I turn around, I better not hear any of yall fuckin threatening each other. Also Frisk, don't repeat the F word.

SI!Toriel: *turns around*

Frisk: *mimes slitting their throat with their thumb*

Sans: *pointing a finger at Frisk then doing a thumbs down*

So far throughout the trek in both the Ruins and Snowdin, SI!Toriel never really got into a serious fight that requires them into putting more effort. That is, until they encounter Undyne.

Undyne: I'm gonna kill that human.

SI!Toriel (turns towards Frisk): Observe as I beat her ass to the ground and spare her afterwards. This is a lesson you better ingrain to your head.

Undyne: ?!?!?!

And lastly for Asgore:

SI!Toriel: Damn. Straight to child murder.

Asgore:

SI!Toriel: Didn't even think to put the kids in prison as a life sentence. Just straight up murder. What the fuck.

On the first post for the Sillby AU you mentioned that it was an Undertale player who got Isekai'd, unlike all the other AU's where it's a random human from a world without Undertale (Or the game did exist and they just somehow avoided all related content entirely). This would mean that Sillby would know a lot about the game and fandom content, what sort of consequences would this have?

Like, obviously they'd know how the different routes go, about Resets, maybe a bit about the theories surrounding Gaster and the skeleton brothers (unless their memory of Gaster was erased when they entered this world). Would they remember Resets? Are they the one with Reset instead of Frisk?

If Sans messed with the machine and brought in his alternates and Sillby somehow found out, would they go "Oh we're doing one of those fanfic tropes, huh? Am I gunna get a harem out of this?"

I'm not sure if that last point would be funnier if Sillby and Sans were dating at that point or not.

You have given me much to think about, and a need to maybe write a Grillby Isekai fanfic. I hope this ask gives you room to rant your heart out about this newest brain worm.

-a bit slow paced for me but has great plot and overall has me in LOVE with outer!!

• The House Next Door by BattleMaiden13, ongoing, 204 chapters!

-a bit spicy but overall a silly goofy roll coaster my fave so far is sans and syrup?? Idk mutt and coffee are definitely making their way into my heart!!

• Sins Aplenty by rowan-mutt, ongoing, 18 chapters!!

-this fic is brand new and has me at the EDGE of my seat!!??? It’s really good everything is so well written honestly if you’d have to read ONE of these I’d choose this one!

• A collection of Fables and Romance by Llama_Goddess, ongoing, 48 chapters!

-a collection of one-shots with a bit of slow updates but it’s absolutely amazing! My favorites are nightmare and dust! Heads up there are a few that aren’t self-insert but should be checked out anyway!!

• Cold Blood, Warm Heart by Kassykin, completed, 15 chapters!

-honestly this made me cry a tiny bit it was so good!! Wish we had gotten more but by the end of the fic I ended up in love with sans!!

• Little Assistant by ViridianSouls, ongoing, 47 chapters

-get this, instead of the variants being the bitties YOUR the bitty! Absolute cinema!!! And ohhh killer my beloved<3

Really there are so many more I could recommend but I don’t want to overwhelm you, I just want others to enjoy the same fics I’ve read, I would recommend checking out some of the authors other works since they all have some other awesome works and did want to add more works they did on here in case you didn’t end up messing with their work!

I just finished reading your fanfiction's on ao3, and checking out the content you have about them on your tumbler! Are there any Undertale/au x mc/reader fanfiction's you'd recommended? Doesn't have to be the mosr popular, id love to hear about just some you'd personally would recommend!

Oourggghh im the wrong person to be asked this because i haven't been reading any recent undertale fics. i'm currently reading jjk, homestuck and naruto fics, so my UT fic recs are finished or a bit outdated and haven't been updated in a while.

looking thru my bookmarks, here are the fics that left a mark on me from the past years (ill even include my private bookmark notes (if they're not spoilers))

- These are our Days by Rehlia (i haven't finished it yet lol)

- The Party Incident and Other Embarrassing Anecdotes by poubelle_squellete (The secondhand embarrassment I felt is insane lmfao)

- Fur a Good Time, Call... by popatochisp (Absolute sugar, minor angst-- overall, a feel-good hurt/comfort for rainy days.)

- Defining Sanity by PhantomDreamshade (Is OC not reader-insert. Fucked up, but yknow what? These bitches gay. Good for them.)

- Bones, Picked Clean by lulu-writes (Gave it a chance, and wow, amazing characterization. Personalities don't repeat, all variants have quirks that make them distinctly 'them'. Horrortale Papyrus, no one can make me hate you. Horror bros are def my fave, with Mutt being second. Black and Mutt banters are lowkey funny lmao; ACTUAL sibling banter. Applied existing multiverse theories and terminologies; interesting implications of what happened to gaster.)

- A Little Bit(ty) of Trouble by Kassykins (Holy fucking shit. Tldr: rich MC with so much depth, it's unreal. Kinda relatable ngl. I can't put into words on how this fic changed my brain chemistry. If only tiny sentient life partners are real, I would be set for life. they can cure me. Life-changing fic. Kudos is not enough, I have to make out with the author sloppy style)

- Vacuous Happiness by loserwithalaptop (Surprisingly well-written and it has changed my brain chemistry forever. The feelings of self-hatred and the feelings of undeserving of love. Cowardice towards commitment, constantly running away. Self-sabotaging of relationships. Raaagghh, hits so close to home, it's giving me flashbacks goddamn, unbelievable. And its from a SANS UNDERTALE FANFIC. Unreal. But anyway, will self-reflect over this. Interesting philosophies presented. God i wish i had that mindset.)

- Help, I've Fallen Into a Surveillance State and I Can't Get Up! by mercen (only one chapter but it got me hooked. i will wait for an eternity for that next chapter)

- Resisting the Current by timeofjuly (Came for the boys, stayed for Quinn. Unironically jealous of the skeletons for being in a relationship with her ahdjsjak)

- Zombietale by Kamisori (i LOVE domestic scenes in a hopeless apocalyptic world that has you fighting for your life. could be its own novel tbh. would reread again)
