One of the pilots looks and talks EXACTLY like this guy -- Dr. James Wilson from the tv show House. I am not exaggerating in the slightest. It is uncanny. I was sitting here trying to figure out who we reminded me of and finally remembered someone on House-- looked up the characters and found confirmation of exact similarity.
The saddest part is that I am not from Gate 20 at all. My Gate is 12 and it is time to go there. Goodbye, chillest gate.
all the pilots are rocking uniform black leather jackets. jetblue = bad boys of the sky.
the plane is here the captain is here triumphal trumpet processional music comes on the radio right as passengers begin exiting the flight through the door. beautiful.
Gate 20 confirmed as chillest gate Gate 20 Flight attendant to other passing by: "You gonna be my flight?" 2nd flight attendant passing by, sadly: "I'm at 21, yeah? I have no life." :(
Gate 20: the chillest gate 2 be at everyone just eating donuts and smiling

Most relaxing airport trip yet. Two hours early for flight. Logan is deserted but for a couple friendly people. Slow 16th century instrumental Christmas music playing calmly overhead. This is so peaceful.

Excursion part 2 Lovely snowy woods along the MassPike. Some building along the walk through Boston, including a store that sold 3D printers, which were all printing things for display-- fascinating to watch. We met at 3pm at BarLola. The rooms were sunk underground and very dark with red lighting. Which at first seemed a little creepy, but then it was very relaxing and allowed some privacy to conversations despite being in a large group. It was a wonderful experience talking with friends in English and Spanish for two and a half hours among rambunctious professors and T.A.s and a steady supply of delicious snacks. Eventually excited whispers of "postres!" spread throughout the room as the flan made its way through the crowd to our altar-like serving table. Great conversation in the bus on the way back about philosophy of language and cultural differences between Germany, Spain, and the United States, as well as general silliness that set in with lack of sleep. This trip was probably the highlight of my semester! Very grateful to the Amherst College Spanish Department for organizing such an experience.
Excursión a Boston con el departamento de español, 11/14/2014 Part one We went to see the Goya exhibit at the MFA, where photography was not permitted. But it was incredible. I got to see the Duchess of Alba portrait (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portrait_of_the_Duchess_of_Alba) I have heard so much about! And for the first time in history, this portrait was shown together with Goya's portrait of her husband. Professors David Rodriguez-Solas and Catherine Infante led us on a tour, giving interesting background on specific paintings of note. Practically all the Amherst College Spanish professors and T.A.s came on the trip and we all had a great time. The Amherst College Spanish Dept. has a strong sense of community and engagement with students which is awesome to be a part of. The trip was only $10 per student and included the round trip bus ride, a full lunch on the bus, entrance to the Goya exhibit + a MFA ticket for a future visit, and tapas for dinner at BarLola. After seeing the exhibit, a friend and I headed down the road a couple miles to the Thinking Cup, a coffee shop conveniently near the restaurant where we would be having dinner. We almost couldn't find it because it was slightly hidden-- it's practically underground. (cont. to part 2)
