liv is very present on my mind so like this for a starter
the scene: ❛ gouge . wield a sharp object at my muse .
“don't we think this is a little dramatic?”
she looks between him and the kitchen knife in her hand, then slowly lowers her arm. it had been instinctive, she heard him and went for the knife without a moment's thought. "yeah, well maybe you shouldn't sneak up on people. ring the doorbell next time. jesus."
what kind of tragedy are you: self-inflicted
you were given the choice to live, a thousand times over, and yet you never choose it. not intentionally, oh no, you didn’t know it was a grave you were digging. but with every turn, you were twisting the knife deeper. every decision doomed you more. had it been anyone else, they would have made it. but you? you are so perfectly you, there was no escaping it. the true tragedy of it all, is how preventable it was.
“What the hell is your problem?”
she's both too sober and too awake for this. oh, where to start? maybe with the fact that she doesn't have any. she's fine. or she will be once people stop trying to hound her for answers she doesn't have. liv can't put her finger on what the issue is this time. she doesn't remember pissing off tory any time lately, but she's sure she'll figure it out. if it's not tory she offended it's one of her little gang of misfit supernaturals. tory's always been too overprotective for her own good.
liv hopes she never becomes like that. maybe she had been at some point, but that part of her is long gone. she's done risking her own life and sanity for people who refuse to do the same. if tory was smart she'd give it up too.
she gives upp. if tory's going to be angry at her, she might as well explain herself. liv's not going to sit around racking her brain for results. she knows she's friends with both liam and freyja, but liv's always kept liam at a distance, and whatever she gave freyja she deserved it and gave back tenfold.
"why don't you remove that stick from your ass and explain what i did this time?"
@secondlucifer liked this for a starter
she's not a hunter. she's adamant about that. a few hunts a year doesn't make someone a hunter, just like a couple of drinks doesn't make someone an alcoholic. she's worked with hunters on hunts, but labeling herself as one feels like a betrayal. to her kind, and yes, to freyja too. as much as she wants it to, hate doesn't equal the absence of love. she's seen the burns on her former friend. she can't bring herself to become someone who would have put a child through that.
what does it say about her that she's still willing to associate with those kinds of people?
liv throws another log on the fire. what had started as a way to get rid of a cursed object had wound up as a campfire. what hurt could also heal or whatnot. "we have another hour before the cops show up." it's not a guess. she's been using her powers more lately, it allows her to fine-tune them for shorter amounts of time. they wait another hour, and the cops show up asking questions. "you're not about to keel over, are you?" if she has to heal, she needs time.
@temporalisius asked: answer my question. from this questions meme
being honest about anything makes her feel sick. she longs for the days where her biggest worries were about passing exams and whatever sam was hiding from her. lying comes natural to her now and is the best course of action when she first meets someone, but it's impossible to tell when she should start being honest. she and liv have known each other for a while now and she does trust her, but every time she's thought about bringing up a conversation about the truth her mouth runs dry. where could she even begin? ❝ i've -- died before. but a trip down memory lane is literal hell so can we skip that part? i'll need a bottle of don fulano for that. ❞ the entire time she's speaking, jess is barely meeting liv's eyes and fidgeting with her hands. tell tale signs of a liar, but in actuality jess's anxiety is through the roof.
oh my go- liv needs to fucking punch something. it's like a cruel twist of faith. of course, she gets a friend and starts to really trust someone, and this comes out. it's not a character flaw in jess, but it is something that is going to be on liv's mind now every time she sees her. proof that what she'd tried isn't impossible. people can be die and be brought back to life. she just hadn't been strong enough. she's not even sure if she knows what to do with that information. it doesn't even necessarily mean that she herself can heal the dead, but if there's precedent for it... maybe she can. maybe if she practices her magic more and grows stronger, she could potentially do it too. not bring her father back his sanity, but if it happened again, if someone died in front of her, maybe she could revive them without scrambling their brains in the process.
"i think i'll need my own bottle if we're going to keep talking about this."
His eye widen at the glow around her fingers. He knew that magic existed. He was a half-ghost, after all (although that had nothing to do with magic and was moreso a freak of science). But he was friends with several ghosts who were capable of using magic. He would be stupid to dismiss it. "You can?" His voice cracks, nodding slowly. "Please. Please help me."
she nods back. she can do this. "just close your eyes." her own squeeze shut as soon as her hands make contact with his abdomen. it's not necessary for her magic to work, but it helps calm her down. for someone born with the ability to heal people, she's no good around blood.
liv can feel her magic transfer from her hands to his body. it's temporary. her supply would regenerate, and what had been given to him would be used to restore his health. but for now, a small part of her would be his. it takes a few seconds, and it isn't until she feels the transference stop that she opens her eyes. her hands are back to appearing normal, and the boy doesn't look like he's about to fall over and die. good. she decides to put some distance between the two, suddenly reminded of how much he looks like her younger brothers. liv knows it's probably just the blonde hair, but it doesn't make her feel any less uncomfortable. "how do you feel?"

NAT SCATORCCIO YELLOWJACKETS (2021—)
He was very much NOT okay. But admitting that would be admitting that he needed help and he couldn't ask for help. Help involved hospitals, help involved other people getting involved. "I...I'm fine. I..." He stumbles to his knees.
she runs to him, sliding down on her own knees to reach him. he's bleeding way too much for her to be comfortable. liv hesitates for a moment, hands close to his stomach, the clear source of injury. she doesn't want to do this, but it doesn't look like she has much of a choice. "you're not fine, but I can fix this." there's a faint glow radiating around her fingertips. fuck, she's probably freaking him out. "will you let me?"
open starter
her hands are shaking. that's nothing new, but it frustrates her still. she knows how this works; it's going to hurt them both. you can't heal or heal someone without pain. "you have to be still, I can't do this if you're moving around." it's not something she knows for sure, but she's pretty confident that healing a moving person is a hell of a lot harder than someone who's still.
trying to help out. sonny was exhausted. drenched in blood and guts. her body screaming to get stitched up and washed up. to rest and sleep till noon. however, her adrenaline was still running as she stared at the stranger in front of her. unsure of who she and what her motive could possibly be. how would she know that the other was here to help? instead, there was a click of her gun.
“help out with what?” she didn't even blink as she stood perfectly still. “i already killed what i needed to kill. so why are you here?”
she flinches at the click of the gun. it reminds her of unpleasant memories, and she knows that as soon as she's done here, she will be stuck venturing down memory lane.
"you look like shit and i'm guessing you feel like it too." her hands are still raised in front of her. liv is quickly regretting her choice to try to help a stranger from her dreams. she's not used to dealing with dangerous people with guns. she's not going to ask about the killing part. asking seems like a surefire way of ending up dead as well. "listen, I can get you to a doctor or help patch you up, but you need to trust me long enough for me to do that."
