Hate targeted towards AAPI has been much higher this past year in our country and it can’t keep going, if you can’t donate then share the link. Yesterday in Atlanta was just one example of disgusting action and hatred.

8 people, 6 of which were of Asian decent were fatally shot in Atlanta Georgia. The violence against Asians is very real and sadly it’s happening not just in America but everywhere and has become more prevalent since the beginning of the pandemic. This is a very real issue and we need to spread more awareness about it because unlike BLM it feels like nobody’s talking about this when asians are people of colour as well. Look y’all, I and my family have been extremely lucky so far. I’m very privileged to live in a upper middle class white family and for the most part I mostly joke that I’m just overly paranoid about perceiving things as micro aggressions bc I’m low key anticipating being spat on or cussed out. I’ve never had a negative interaction yet and I pray to God I never will. But this fucking. scares me. It’s shit like this that reminds me why I’m subconsciously paranoid every time I go out or go to work and it stops being a joke. I live in a conservative rural area and sometimes I genuinely get worried.
We are at a point where underlying problems within and towards the are coming to the surface in violent horrifying manners. If you can’t support financially you need to support the Asian community through continuing the conversation. Listen to Asian voices when we talk about problems. There is a long standing history of racism towards the Asian community being ignored, brushed aside, and dismissed. Too long have we been used to sew division in poc communities and as commodities in white communities.
Black Lives Matter. Protect Asian lives.
