iâve seen a lot of people taking about how izuku needs to take time and reflect on his past feelings, but i completely disagree with this statement. one consistency throughout the whole story was that izuku has always cared for bkg. looking back on his feelings now would not do anything because his feelings have not changed at all.
Oh oh oh! There's another Deku-Hawks parallel, how through this whole arc Deku's never really stopped to slow down for anyone but always sped ahead because if he slowed down AT ALL he thinks he's giving the villains too much time to prepare. Kind of like 199 where it said Hawks does the same thing because he can't let situations escalate while waiting around and the next one is always popping up as soon as he's finished with one.
Your url is cute! It's like you hit the character limit for tenko shimura so you left it at shim owo, and it's nice to meet another fan of both shigaraki and hawks at the same time, the whole league even. It's very rare, I wanted to be your first follower but told myself to wait since you only had one post and wanted to get to know you more! đ
thank you!!!!! honestly being a fan of both the league and hawks is the best of both worlds, and it makes analysis things so much more fun since i tend to look at things from a villains perspective !!! i hope we can continue to get to know each other :D
As much as I like Hawks, I don't know about him being able to help Deku the most. I thought it was a given that that role would be given to Bakugo, and/or the rest of class 1A? But man, do I WISH they talked. C'mon, danger sense being as overwhelming as sensing many things/people in danger with feathers, fast track minds doing multiple things at once, trying to save villains!! Izuku's thoughts about everyone smiling felt like an echo of Hawks in 246, but in a much darker place. So many topics :(
YES I TOTALLY AGREE i do think that 1-A is going to help izuku the most, but i really wish we got some hawks and izuku interactions :( theyâre in such similar positions right now and i really do think izuku talking with hawks would make such a huge difference
when i said i think hawks can help izuku the most i wasnât really expecting it to happen in the story, i just think itâd be something interesting to think about!!
posted this on my twitter so i figured iâd share it here too!!
[ as always, bnha manga spoilers ]
letâs talk about hawks and izuku in the past few bnha chapters
starting off this thread, i wanna talk abt hawksâs backstory. since he was a kid, he was trained by the commission to become one of the greatest heros. he understands what itâs like to have to handle tough situations alone, and he understands how it feels to have people depend on you. if anyone is able to understand the way izuku is feeling right now, itâs hawks. while hawks was under constant pressure by the commission, izuku had all of the pressure put on him in a very short time frame, and he doesnât understand how to properly manage all of it. weâve seen that izuku tends to turn to self-sacrificial tendencies, while hawks is able to understand his own weaknesses and will get help from others when he feels he cannot handle something alone. this is a key difference in the way the two of them act. the reason hawks told all might to make sure he was supporting izuku right now is because he realizes izuku NEEDS support from others, whether he chooses to accept it or not. the only reason hawks was able to continue training and continue helping others was because he had the plushie throughout his entire childhood. that plushie was his support and we saw how big of an impact endeavor has made on his life since theyâve started working together more. hawks wants izuku to have a strong support system so that he feels like heâs never doing anything alone, just like how he feels with endeavor. hawks and izuku also have extremely similar goals, save as many people as you possibly can. while hawks is able to make important decisions (like killing twice), izuku cannot make those decisions, a good example of this is when he refuses to kill shigaraki if he was faced with that option in the future. the pressure they both face by hero society (and something i mentioned briefly before) is something that can be considered a difference or a similarity between the two depending on how you choose to look at it. on the similarity side, they have both faced an insane amount of pressure during the war, hawks constantly relaying codes to others, continuing his priorities as a hero, spying & working with the league, etc etc, and izuku who has the stress of carrying ofa, protecting his class, and defeating shigaraki and afo. while most of hawksâs pressure was something only him and the commission was aware of, many pro heros are aware of what izuku is facing which is why hawks thinks itâs a perfect time to make sure izuku has a strong support system behind him so he can learn to manage all of that stress. again, on the differences side, hawks was raised under constant pressure, while izuku was not. they have different ways of managing that pressure, and izuku cannot recognize his own weaknesses at the position heâs at right now. if there is anyone who is going to be able to help izuku the most in the next few chapters, itâs hawks.
since the musicians behind the current mha ending said it was designed for shigaraki and deku, do you think theyâre going to keep the same ending throughout the whole season and just change uo visuals? the song works for hawks and endeavor but also was designed for the two people that play a big role in mva and beyond
no. hawks shouldnât have done what he did, in every perspective it was wrong period.
[ bnha manga spoilers ]
did you read the part where he sustained multiple horrible injuries to try and drag out the fight as long as possible because he still believed twice could be saved⊠or did you read the part where he tried to reason with twice multiple timesâŠ. or the part where letting twice escape with the league would put thousands of lives at risk⊠or the part where dabi came and encouraged twice to go crazy at hawks and hawks STILL didnât want to kill himâŠ.

whether you approach the hawks/twice chapters from a villains perspective or from a heros perspective, youâre always going to come to the same middle ground. no side was completely in the wrong, and no side was completely in the right. they both wanted to understand each other so badly, but couldnât understand much below the surface. the fact that thatâs the conclusion you come to no matter how you choose to view the chapter is so so painful
the fact that hawks, who most likely has not gotten to try using his wings to save people since his injuries, immediately went to save nagant from falling even though he didnât know what would happen to him really shows u how much he prioritizes citizens over anything else
if you arenât already aware, lady nagant is an ex-pro hero (she was taken in by the commission at a young age) who now works with all for one, and is often seen next to overhaul.
first picture is her as a pro hero, second picture is her as a villain.
her character is newly introduced to the series, and i think sheâs already extremely misunderstood.
in short, when lady nagant was taken in by the hero commission, she was given the role of an assassin. the commission told her to keep up this positive image of a hero, the public wanted to see happy, hardworking, perfect heros, not trained assassins working for the commission.
through her work, and countless assassinations she had to make, she began to question the motivation of the chairman of the commission. she was tired of faking her identity to the public, and she wasnât able to see herself as a hero anymore. (hence the panel below, she only saw the blood of other people on her hands.) she was not upset at the killings happening, she was upset that the public was being lied too.
lady nagant understood that in order for hero society to function, there was some corruption. what she didnât understand, is why the public was constantly being lied too and being told that heros are perfect beings who have never done anything wrong.
this idea is reinforced even more in dialogue she has with izuku. she says that hero society is âpaper thinâ and simply a âfragile illusion.â
once you understand the way that lady nagant feels about hero society, the reason she decided to join up with all for one becomes a lot clearer. as i said before, lady nagant wasnât upset with her role in the commission, she was only upset that the public didnât know the truth.
all for one doesnât hide anything from the public. he wants to hurt someone, heâll do it, regardless of whoâs watching. heâs manipulated countless people regardless of who was watching him, and heâs not afraid of the public knowing him as a violent supervillain. this is what drew lady nagant to him.
now that sheâs working with the villains, she doesnât have to put up a whole new persona in front of people. the public knows the truth about the villains and about all for one, and she wants the public to know the truth about her, too.
in the recent chapters, the conversations sheâs been having with izuku are really interesting. in her mind, izuku is just another victim of a false education, he doesnât understand why people would want to work with all for one.
a conversation sparks between the two of them about why lady nagant doesnât work with the heros anymore. itâs revealed that she killed the chairman of the commission, and that even disputes going on within the commission are covered up and lied about to keep up the false image heros have created. lady nagant thinks that if heros are to try and stop this corruption, the whole cycle is going to repeat again.
a question i often see is âif lady nagant understands that izuku is a victim of false education, why is she trying to capture him instead of help him?â
the answer to this is quite simple, and itâs just because all for one had told her that if izuku lives, sheâll never have the society sheâs dreamed of. her and izuku have completely different mindsets when it comes to all for one. izuku thinks that pro heros are important to society because they can help others and stop corruption, where lady nagant thinks that corruption is bound to happen no matter what, and that the only way to stop it is to stop lying to the public.
iâm interested to see how the next few chapters play out, and iâll definitely share more of my thoughts on lady nagant when more about her is revealed!!
