Fellas this is a crazy day.
I have someone willing to drive from Chicago all the way to me in Michigan to board their rabbit with me for intensive care. Their bunny er charged so much to just stuff the wrong meds into this 1 year old bunny. I just grew more annoyed looking at the itemized bill of med after med that is not standard practice anymore.
So this bunny, milo, went into gi stasis. 4 x rays later they couldn't determine anything (somehow) and did an explorative surgery to find a huge obstruction. It was removed but milo is still not ok.
They removed it but its been a week and no poop. Their care was iffy and they didnt provide the intense fluid therapy a case like this needs. They sent her home with gabapentin and told her to give critical carev and syringe him 12ml of water. He needs nearly 80ml of iv fluid sub cutaneously every 5 hours so why the hell did they say syringe 12 orally and nothing else??
The owner is distraught and wants to save milos life. The ideal plan is this:
Im in contact with an ER that can give him exactly the care he needs but itll be 1.5k to hospitalize him. I can then keep him at home with me where I monitor him hourly for a week so he can go home. I will do his care for free. The er is a different story
I cant afford it. She cant afford it.
The alternative is i take him and i do as much supportive care as possible but he needs much stronger meds than what I have. This is the default. But hes in such rough shape I cant fathom not doing more
My plea is to any of you. This isnt for me or any animal in my care right now but for a stranger willing to drive an entire state over to save him.
I want to save milo. After spindles gi stasis and my rehab work I have no extra funds for a visit to the er. I can only turn to you guys if anyone is willing to donate to give him a chance. Hes only a year old. If anyone can spare anything, please put it to my ko-fi
