It's Saturday morning 18th of March, 2023. I'm looking into the churchyard of St John the Baptist church on the northwestern edge of Baxenden. It's rained recently and will doubtless rain again. I've begun to catalogue my existing works ready to slot them into to short story collections. There are over 200 pieces including longer works of fiction such as the Tau Device, The Turning stone Door Witch. I keep a record of written work on an annual basis but the catalogue after 2017, following Jennifer's first heart attack, is a bit sketchy. It was only in 2019 that I began to think of getting the shorter pieces professionally edited and went on to treat 50 of those 200 works to this rare (and costly) honour. Since I began the artisans market nearly a year ago, I realised it was time to get more stuff out there, so although writing Demon Fire is going well, I will spend much of this weekend getting my back catalogue into shape ready for dividing into themed short fiction collections. I say this in anticipation of imminent changes which may finally yield a refugee Ukrainian family (for me to host). https://www.instagram.com/p/Cp7DeATogCd/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
