Water Lilies painted by Claude Monet (1840 - 1926)
E. We evolved to eat them and they're fucking delicious 😋
We didn’t evolve to eat them, we just figured out a way to make them edible.
There are exceptions, but most people will get sick from eating meat that’s either raw or undercooked, and also untreated.
(Side note, you might already know this but I just want to expand on the untreated part - raw meat for sushi needs to be frozen first to kill parasites, but even then, raw meat for sushi is a recent thing. Sushi used to be how they persevered the fish rather than just something they’d make with the intention of consuming the fish completely raw.)
It’s the same as how we’re not evolved to eat beans, despite them being healthy for the majority of humans when soaked and cooked. Or how we can’t eat a lot of raw grains.
-
Also, if we’re evolved to eat animals then it means we’re evolved to hunt, or at least scavenge, so why is it that slaughterhouse workers are regularly traumatised from their work? And why do farmers talk about how they’ve had to desensitise themselves and how they need to actively make sure they don’t get attached?
And why is it that we express sympathy for injured animals we don’t know instead of the first thought being that they’re an easy dinner? Why don’t we see roadkill and start salivating? Why do so many people find veal disgusting?
And why do we feel uncomfortable when a human enjoys killing animals? Species that have evolved to eat meat should take some form of pleasure in a kill, so it should be enriching for us.
So why is it when a child kills a bird or a squirrel with a full understanding of what they’ve done, something must be wrong with them? Why do we look down on people who purposely hit animals instead the road for shits and giggles when again, we should have the instinct to do it?
I could see the argument that they aren’t eating it, but at the same time animals hunting but not eating their prey is a very common thing so it’s not like the behaviour is unnatural.
Wrong. We did evolve to eat them - we do not have teeth nor digestive systems like herbivores do. We are omnivores and that is an objective fact. It's not a bad thing nor a moral failing when a lion eats a gazelle, nor when humans eat fish. It's a natural, neutral fact of life that we eat other animals. Get over it.
Are we going to talk about the inherit misogyny of how relentlessly libs have mocked and tormented Erica Kirk?
But I thought drag was about self-expression, not mocking women?? Huh??
i really want both of these as posters i love an ancient depictions of women and goddesses so much
I see the same fucking hypersexualization and objectification of women as usual.
Lmao please say you're joking. I'm begging you to log tf off.

A few years ago while trying to find ways to commit suicide as painlessly as possible, I came across a PDF of Dr. Paul Quinnett's The Forever Decision. Thinking it might go into actual methods of suicide (I read an article once that actually did that and was trying to find it again) I started to read it, and I think I only got about two pages in before I was crying too much to actually see the words.
I downloaded the PDF to my hard drive and I open it again whenever I'm feeling too suicidal to do much else, but not enough to start booking a ride to the hospital. And every time without fail I only go up to a few pages before backing off and choosing to live another day just because suicide suddenly seems even more unbearable than whatever the hell upset me in the first place.
All the book really does is [I'm pulling a summary from GoodReads here as, again, I've read no more than 5 pages] "discusses the social aspects of suicide, the right to die, anger, loneliness, depression, stress, hopelessness, drug and alcohol abuse, the consequences of a suicide attempt, and how to get help."
But it also starts with the author kindly asking the reader to complete the book before going through with anything, and for some reason I'm compelled to really just try to read it all before finalizing everything. Despite not yet completing it (hopefully never will) I think I can safely say it's saved my life at least a few times now.
It's intentionally legal to copy and redistribute this book to keep it as accessible as possible, and it's very easy to find, but here's a link for it anyways.
DARVO at its finest right here.

It's crazy... oh my God, I'm a woman. I was a woman the whole time. It's like waking up from a dream. Of course I'm not a man... how did that ever make sense to me? Just because I wanted a penis really bad? Lol
Right? What the hell? It's been so confusing accepting that I thought that for so long. Welcome back to the waking world. You're not alone here.
Seriously, coming from the other side I feel the same. It feels like my brain was in a fog for so long and now I can see
i remember being like 11 and asking my dad why he hunts and kills deer and he said “because i think theyre beautiful” and that’s just. that’s just what men are like
