This is easily one of the CRAZIEST videos I've ever gotten. I was rafting down a river when a Yellow Jacket came, landed on my bright pink waterproof phone pouch, and started drinking from the water droplets that had gathered there.

The most amazing part is how the water droplet magnifies the Hornet's mouth parts, so you get to see them up-close!!!! It was FASCINATING to witness!

About 5 days or so ago I put a slice of mandarin in my terrarium. During the first two days it was covered in isopods but then they lost interest as a huge blanket of white mycelium started forming on it. I didn't check my terrarium for two days after that but today I turned on the lamp and saw the mandarin was completely gone and there was a CRATER in the dirt where it used to be. What beasts lurk here??

#this is the terrarium that got a slug invasion that got solved by spontaneous generation of land planarians #And also had a metallic blue beetle appear out of nowhere only to die by centipede (probably?) (which I also didn't intentionally introduce #and one time when the lights were off I saw a huge millipede and earthworms (both of which I also didn't introduce)#anyways. I recommend making a terrarium with soil and rotting wood you find outside. full of surprises #terrarium
