just saw a post that was like "ocs are fun until you have to make ocs for their fucked up parents :(" and all the comments were along the lines of "i just don't write characters for bad people" ??? y’all are quite simply bad at writing what the hell
#the! characters of bad people! i daresay are some of the most important!#you don’t got antagonists??? foils?? sensical backstories that tangibly affect your favorite baby main character?#if you don’t examine the bad parts of humanity you erroneously assume that the characters you do create are considered morally perfect#which is boring if you do it right but most likely your own biases are unchecked#and your characters motivations and personality better be rock solid if you won’t make characters of their immediate family lol!
