This video is a thank you to Tsuki (thegoldengardenia). She did me a huge favor a long time ago. She created a piano arrangement of the Nancy Drew theme and I loved it so much, I asked her to create sheet music so that I could use it in my wedding. This is it!

I have not been on tumblr actively for about six months - most of the posts past last October were the queue running out - so I'm not sure what this could pertain to.I assume this is sarcasm or a weird response to a random post from long ago. Hopefully no one hacked my account and sent out nasty messages while I was gone. If they did, I apologize, that was not me and I will change my password just in case.

But the truth is I don't miss tumblr and I won't be back full time (or even part-time) ever. I got tired of spending all my free time endless scrolling and would spend hours on it and then feel like I was missing out on things I liked doing. It's possible I was actually, literally addicted to tumblr, but that's over now. Tumblr used to be a place I went for solace and comradery with people who also loved such a niche thing (Nancy Drew mainly, but also Doctor Who, John Green, Vlogbrothers, and some other stuff).And then things changed. The tone suddenly shifted. It used to be an attitude of "If I don't like it, why would I follow/comment?". Then it was a series of almost daily attacks. I stopped posting any original ideas about Doctor Who because I would get screamed at for how stupid I must be. Eventually I wasn't able to post anything but Nancy Drew...and after awhile, even that was tainted. It got to the point where a lot of people who claimed to be fans would clog the tag with their hate. Anyone who tried to be positive or even have a constructive opinion on a genuine issue was shut down. Welcome to the internet, I suppose. Initially I left just to avoid The Silent Spy spoilers...and then I just didn't come back. All I do is check in periodically to see reactions to big Nancy Drew news, out of interest. That is part of why I've been keeping my tumblr up. As kokokringlesandsonnyjoon put it, I worked hard on this, particularly the Nancy Drew stuff. (Sonny was another tumblr driven out by bullying - actually, she had more than one she stopped.)As of now, I plan to keep this tumblr public, but I have shut down ask capabilities. In future, this blog may become password protected. I didn't do a final post, but this is, essentially, it. (There may be one (a video) in about two months time, specifically for the benefit of thegoldengardenia, as a thank you for something I asked for a long time ago. But no promises.) Unless I have a deep and sudden change of heart, this is the last you will hear from tessahighlander.tumblr.com.

I still remember the good old days fondly and discovering the fandom - that brought me a lot of happiness. But it's time to formally say goodbye. I debated whether to do it, but this strange message reminded me enough of why I left to do so. Goodbye, and God Bless.
