Alex had been quite hopeful that his time thrust under the spotlight and pitched to the masses as The New Greatest Thing would have ended when he put a bullet through Raymond Cellar’s head. However, as ideal as his new life as Norton’s “patient” was and how relieving it was to be able to step freely over the threshold of his own home, there was the ever-looming knowledge that he was still a product — a labrat to poke and prod and to dangle free-will over his head like a carrot. And like a product, he was expected to be traded and bought.
“She’s like you,” Norton said, frantically attempting to keep at Alex’s pace. “One of your kind.”
“My kind.” Alex had repeated and the good doctor swallowed his words.
Kaoru Mikoshiba. A supposed cyborg developed by the Japanese Amemiya Corporation following in the footsteps of Omnicorp’s widely successful Robocop Program. She had become injured and rebuilt similarly to that of Alex and now they were supposed to play nice for the cameras. One of his kind. And now standing raptly at attention as he and the fretting scientist entered the room.
▬❝She’ s shorter than I thought.❞
It should have been expected, after everything that had happened, and the attention that had been drawn from defeating The Four, it only made sense. After the hype had died down in Tokyo, Kaoru had started to become comfortable with her position as law enforcer in her city. It was, however, what she was designed to do and in Tokyo, she was the best of the best. Yet it wasn't to be the last the testing, the scientists, the legal briefing ever since she had first heard of this ordeal Kaoru's head had been spinning. A reminder of what she really was, that her free will was some kind of false hope that should have been forgotten. She stubbornly complied to the fast-speaking legal agents, not that she had much of a choice, and left her city behind. They spoke to her briefly of the company they were to meet, speaking of it as Amemiya's inspiration and precursor to who she was and what their company was today. The intent, as it seemed to Kaoru, was showcasing of the two companies and some kind of study on how cybernetic persons work and function around each other.
"It seems like a waste of time."
When they finally arrived on the meeting day, her own team rushing about making sure everything was top shape before Alex arrived. She anticipated meeting him, because she was interested as to who he was, but she wasn't nervous. The entire situation didn't sit well with her but she couldn't let her company down, she couldn't let her city down. Alex Murphy enters the room with Dr. Norton, they're all lined up shoulder to shoulder to bow to great them.

Perhaps that’s because I’m not. [ A hand places itself on her armored hip, looking over the old machine a little judgmentally. She looked like she was built in the 80s. Whoever was in charge of her upkeep was doing a shitty job. ] Not that you have much room to talk. No one else seems to be running around covered in mechanical parts.
Explains it. However, I'm not certain I quite understand the depth.
[She felt the scrutiny befalling on her, but it wasn't a distraction from their conversation. She crosses her arms in front of her.] The technology is new, to us at least, that's certain.

[ Kaoru bows slightly to the newcomers ]
Greetings. How may I be of service?
[ Red eyes gave the metal woman a quick look over, perking a brow behind her own helmet. ] You look a little old fashioned.
[ She pursed her lips at the other woman, looking her over as well from behind her visor. -possible threat-]
Perhaps. Comparatively.. You don't exactly look like you're from around here.
